Celtic were invincible domestically in season 2016-17. Players like Tierney, Dembele, Roberts and Rogic lit up the league, but Scott Sinclair was unequivocally Player of the Year. His impact on the team was immediate, scoring 20 minutes after coming on at Tynecastle on his debut and turning up on all the big occasions.
His partnership with Tierney on the left forced opponents to become preoccupied with stopping Celtic down that wing, which allowed others freedom elsewhere.
One moment in particular stood out. Celtic were 65 games into their unbeaten domestic run when they faced Motherwell at Fir Park in November 2017. The same teams met three days earlier in the League Cup Final, which was settled when Scott won a penalty, converted by Moussa Dembele, which saw Cedric Kipre ordered off.
At Fir Park, the Motherwell fans jeered Scott every time he touched the ball, blaming him for making the most of the contact from Kipre. It must have been a torrid experience for the player. An own goal by Mikeal Lustig gave the home team a lead on 78 minutes but Celtic won a penalty with two minutes remaining.
When many players hide under that kind of scrutiny, Scott grabbed the ball, scored the penalty and extended our unbeaten run. It was a great moment in our treble treble years. He was a player who never hid.
The decision to take up the option to extend his contract by a year in May looked obvious. He was a known resource at a time when the team faced a number of changes. I have no idea why Neil Lennon left him out so much this season. Mikey Johnston and Mohamed Elyounoussi are at the top of their game, but have been out injured simultaneously. Still, Scott was only used for a meaningless Europa League fixture.
He leaves for Preston a Celtic great.

What I heard was NL didn’t get on with him. Celtic took up the extra year option so dont think its a board thing. But just what I heard…probably P**h so Im in good company with some on here :)
HH
So 2017 Born Soup the Kouassi signing I knew it was under BR
he is mince not fit for purpose a waist of space dead wood
he has been with us for over three years now & not made an
impression nah Big Wavy it’s Taxi for Kouassi
.
Taxi for akbw1888
I’ll drive him to the airport myself…
Kouassi signed January 2017 on a 4 yr contract, he initially came down with a serious virus, then got a couple of games and had a serious injury, got 12 appearances in 3 years. Has been either sick or injured 90% of the last 3 years. Returned from injury last month & was listed to play in Reserve Game, Not sure if he played or if he did how he got on. He is still very young only 22
I reckon at this stage it’s highly unlikely it will happen for him at Celtic.
AKBW1887
Oooooffftttt………… OTT?
If not certainly harsh to debatable, given the same player wanted to play on despite having suffered cruciate ligament damage, in the game versus the Diets at Murrayfield.
Long permanent contract isn’t his fault, imagine he’ll be moved on through the ole Sellic revolving door ASAP
In just over an hours time (Celtic Park Time) it will be 20:20:20 in the year 2020.
Really wee Bobby Collins I will get you to take my M8 to the
Airport the next time he is going on holiday aye right

A blind man and his dog could see Scott Sinclair was frozen out of the team, as he wouldn’t play ball with the board, be it a wage drop or just f off as we want a transfer deal for you.
The boy stood his ground and fair play to him.
As for Morgan as our striker, as said before by others C’mon to F….
There is more to the SS debate than what’s been let out of the
basket yes Scott Sinclair was a good servent for our Club
He was superb in his first Season with us & then I heard he was
dating some TV Soap Personality & he was not as good as his
first Season however he had not a bad scoring record for a
midfield winger his confidence in taking an appoinent player
on was not the same as his first Season where he use to glide
past opposition players however he done a fair & good job for
us when he was here so I wish him the best of luck @ PNE
ADI-DASSLER….
Like yourself, I’ve heard similar rumours.
Seems strange to me freezing out one of our best players.
Wasn’t a big fan of Boyatta but it seems the same scenario.
Thanks for the reply. HH.
CORKCELT @ 7.08
Daniel Arzani signed a two year loan deal then suffered a cruciate ligament injury on his debut as a second half sub.
I’ve read on here that he’s s*yte as well CSC
p.s. James Forrest is a wee coward 👍
From the videos Soro looks like he can break through a high press. Looks like a strong carrier and a decent long passer
Good luck to Morgan if he goes to Miami. What an opportunity for him. Never showed he was good enough for us it has to be said.
Wonder if Lenny has been told he needs to get players off the books before we get anyone in.

I could just say black and you say white?
Shved has looked good in the limited time he played- I think he merits a run. And yes, he has a cap for Ukraine and a good record in the Ukrainian league; better than LM who came from St Mirren and did not impress at Sunderland. The only reason I can fathom as to why he is not in the team or at least ahead of Morgan is due to application/off-field issues.
Re needing new wingers. Yes, we do. The point I have been making is this:
– 3 wingers, JF, MJ and ME are not enough for a 60 game season in order to maintain competition, prevent fatigue and cover for injury. NL clearly only trusts the three mentioned.
-With the other wingers available (SS/MS), we should have at least rotated a bit, particularly against poorer opposition or utilised them when injuries hit.
-As NL will not use the other wingers- Ntcham was clearly played not in preparation for the Sevco game, but because MJ/ME were injured/unfit and we had to play JF on the left and RC on the right- we need to go out and buy another winger.

So now you are referring to the Scottish Cup match against the Farts @ Murrayfield in
Season in 2017/2018 Season funny that I can’t remeber him being stretchered off in
that match I remember him taking a knock @ being substituted by BR however are
you sure it was as serious as cruciate ligament damage if that was the case then
how come he is still around I remeber JK suffering the same injury in a friendly
match playing for Scotland @ Hampden which finnished his playing carear kouassi
getting ligament damage debatable

Some players get frozen out without getting offered a contract extension.
HH
Which player initials is M.E ?
Are you referring to Elonussie?
If so, he is Southampton Loan player & if rumours are true that
Southampton are looking for 25 Million for the 3rd choice Goalkeeper
then it would be probably more than 25 Million for Elonussie which
is ridiculous & OTT Born Soup he is playing in Scotland not Sly TV

I think his absence, as well as Sinclair’s, aren’t down to footballing reasons. I think he merits an opportunity as Morgan was given a change when clearly not up to it.
I think NFL might also be subject to selecting favourites. See JH over Taylor.
Right I’m offski Wee Bobby Collins Taxi is waiting for Me outside & anyway
we could go on and debate about Celtic the equivilent of one Day on Planet
Sukuloka which is equivilent to 1,000’s of Earth Years in this Material
Universe in other words a very very very long time going over the same old
Ground & having the same old debates I’m sure Celtic business wise know
what they are doing have faith everyone & keep the faith Slangi All & HH

” I think NFL might also be subject to selecting favourites. See JH over Taylor. ”
Thats his job FFS 😂
Yeah JH & CT did not play on the 29th of December it was Bollingollie what a mare
I can’t remember him making one pass to our players during said match useless
So I would say that Johnny Hays who can do a job @ left back & Greg Taylor are
better left backs than the Bollingollie bomb scare he is even worse than Tebily
remember him?
Wee query to corkcelt/Tbb.
Corki yesterday you posted DD’s shareholding in Celtic was 34.9%.
Was there not a Special resolution a few years back that allowed DD to go over the 40% takeover threshold ? without taking over fully Celtic,ie make a bid for all other shares.i recall at the time David Low suggesting DD’s real holding was nearer 44%.
Thanks in advance and also thanks for both your posts yesterday.quality :-))

So it’s because Lenny can’t see what you can in SS and MS.
Obviously not that impressed by MS’s CV
Bit of a waste of money but we’ve got piles of it so who cares
Taxi for Bollingollie there I’ve said it Born Soup nae wonder these
Belguim guys where saying to a blogger who comes on here now &
then Bollingollie loud Belguim laugh “Yeah Good Luck With Him”
I’m sure that was another Lee Congington signing Bollingollie arrived
in the Summer of 2019 Yes? & Congington was still head of recruitment
last Summer that Congington has a lot to answer for that’s for sure

Celtic40Me
what’s the point of going out & signing players if you have no intention
of playing them or even trying them out that does not make sense &
is a total waste of money.
Marion Shved has not been given a fair crack of the whip cause he
was signed by Congington & NL does not trust Congington’s signings
after the load of duds & fuds that he has signed in the past we need
to give the guy a chance to see what he can bring to our Team its a
no brainer

I’m left with the image of my giant pal AT gathering this info while emptying his giant’s piggy bank and preparing a bid for a controlling share. Now that I would welcome!

logic behind the points that I’ve made today if you read through them
I’m concerned of the well being of our Club just like everyone else I’m
referring to “Celtic Minded” Supporters & Fans who come on here we
all want to see our Club being successful & sucseed & we are entitled
to our opinions as regards to that same common goal we may have
different opinions as regards to who are useful players & to which
players are a waste of space & investment & time that’s what makes

Hey AKBW1888 – Hang around fella, I’m asking nobody to leave.
I think that bloody match against the Orcs has brought out the negative in us all. Can’t wait until the team’s back and proving it’s the best in Scotland again.
