Sinclair will respond overwhelmingly

563

I won’t tell you Scott Sinclair has not experienced racism until the last year, but I suspect it is highly unlikely he has had to endure the vitriolic abuse he has gone through as a Celtic player anywhere in England. He must be wondering what century he travelled to when encountering the kind of ‘people’ who celebrate their racism.

Yesterday his name and a racist slogan was pinned to a bonfire in Belfast. Humanity is weaker as a consequence.

Scott will travel to that town on Friday to play for Celtic, a game his team-mates will ensure goes the right way. What I can tell you about Scott, is that he will respond with overwhelming drive in the season ahead. Specifically, he will rip the turf up at Ibrox in September.

Just said the same to my colleagues and they all denied that they saw it that way.

    But I know…

    And they know I know…

    Actually, I don’t really care…

    how ya doing, mate?

Just back from an early court attendance …I know, you would think they would suspend it during Wimbledon, World Cups, that sort of thing … quite inconsiderate of them.

but, on the plus side …my case for tomorrow settled last night, so, not sure how much work I will be getting done today.

  5. For Lurgan57. Bad Ass in Temple Bar, home to Naomh Padraig csc, special scoops rates for all Tims compared to the rip-off prices charged in the neighbouring boozers. Should be there myself if I can scoot off work in time. 5.00 pm kick-off remember.

    Hail Hail.

Have to say … I dont know much about Sam Q, but he seemed pretty nice in the post match interview there … will be some bombs dropped in his match with Cilic … on this court, either will fancy their chance in the final ..

And once again, I am a bit conflicted for the next match … obviously, I want the Canadian boy to do well, but it is hard to cheer against Federer who not only has such a beautiful game, but has always seemed like a good guy.

  7. This just in……………

    *cough*….

According to my tonsorial “Deep Throat”…….

    …discussions with Stuart have been…and I quote…

……”cut short”…….with “both sides” in disagreement over “length..

    ..of contract.”

Spurious reports suggesting that Big “Permanent” Pete…… was forced to give Stuart the hairdryer treatment have been dismissed as nonsense………..everyone knows Stuarty uses gel an’ GHD’s.

  8. Not long back to ‘base’ after a visit to Estadio Nacional …

What a lovely experience (with thanks here to Too Da Loo for some pre-visit pointers).

In the end I took the train from downtown Lisboa, alighting at Cruz Quebrada: a right run down wee station, covered in graffiti , right beside a small sandy beach.

Exits from the station are found at each end of of the platform.

As many others have mentioned, the stadium floodlights are clearly visible inland, keeking over the tops of the trees of the large park to the north.

Going left, away from the station, the narrow road turns sharp right and up towards a busy main road, which needs to be crossed; right over to the large park on the other side.

If you have a good map (or app) it will show the road to take as Avenida Pierre de Coubertin. Stay on this road, sweeping up through the park, past the very modern swimming pool complex and in about 10 mins you will arrive at a car park, level with and clearly overlooking the midfield of the pitch. There is no access to the stadium at this point, but walk on only another 30 or 40 yards along the same Avenida and there’s an entrance to another, smaller car park and compound. This is the best way to get in.

On the right of the carpark there’s a building used by the site commissionaire. Make yourself known to this guy and he’ll happily direct you into the stadium. (The guy on duty today had as much English as I have Portuguese, but was very happy to welcome more ‘Celtic People … More Celtic People: people, people, people.’. It was hot and I didn’t have the lingo, so I let him off with this accidental faux pas!

Anyway: Hoping this helps a few others …

Fire officers stoned in south Belfast ( sandy row) and in larne. The fire fighters were making buildings safe for it’s occupants, when they were attacked. But then we will be told the noise of the fire engines disturbed either their sleep or the water soaked their new clothes. What a shower!!!!!!!

  10. GO TELL THE SPARTIM on 12TH JULY 2017 3:15 PM

Another poster only stated a concern that the Nthcam signing ( our 2nd CM signing of this window ) might adversely effect the chances of Armstrong signing which seemed pretty reasonable to me giving that they both play CM.

Your response IMO appeared pretty derisive and undeserved.

I guess it’s easy to mock someone on here when you allign yourself with the prevailing CQN narrative

  13. Says Hail Hail to Hector..and still believes in Brendan on

There’s a big assumption on this site that Armstrong is calling the shots..

Perhaps there’s an assessment of Stuart’s maximum potential worth going on. If a figure of anything like £10m is offered..I’d say he’s at his peak return on investment. He would also probably be at his peak earning potential. So it might suit both.

On the other hand he might stay..either way there’s no losers in this one imo

  14. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

Why did we bother to sign Ntcham?

It will only mean a summer like this one, fretting over which clubs are weighing up offers, before getting ready to pounce and swooping to sign him up, along with Dembelé and Tierney.

All this and the qualifiers too!

It’s too much, just too much!

  15. Personally don’t believe Ntcham has signed
