SINCLAIR’S HAMPDEN SCARE

CELTIC are facing a sweat over Scott Sinclair as they prepare for Sunday’s Betfred League Cup Final against Aberdeen at Hampden.

The Hoops flair player, with 10 goals this season, limped out of last night’s 2-0 Champions League loss to Barcelona.

James Forrest came on at the start of the second-half for the injured Englishman and boss Brendan Rodgers admitted his concerns.

Sinclair was clobbered by Jordi Alba and his hamstring injury will be scanned this morning before a decision is taken for the silverware shoot-out against the Dons.

Rodgers said: “Scott is very robust, so when he had to come off he was hurting.

“But he got caught when he was breaking through. We’ll just need to see with that one.

“We didn’t want to take any risk with him. He was in pain and, while I know him well enough to realise he will fight through pain, it wasn’t one which was worth the risk.”
