SIX APPEAL

CELTIC have the opportunity to open up a six-point gap over Aberdeen when they take on Inverness Caley Thistle at Parkhead tomorrow afternoon.
The Pittodrie side, three points adrift of the Hoops with a game more played, hoped to catch up this evening, but their game against Partick Thistle was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Firhill.
Referee Bobby Madden inspected the surface after three o’clock today and decided it was unplayable.

The Dons, who were hammered 3-1 by John Hughes’ Highlanders on Monday, were hoping to put some pressure on the league leaders.

Thistle will also be disappointed the match is off as they already have two games in hand over most of the teams around them – and because the team have not lost at home since October.A statement from the club read: “Following a pitch inspection by Bobby Madden at 3:30pm, tonight’s Ladbrokes Premiership match against Aberdeen has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.”Anybody with pre-purchased tickets should retain them and further details about the re-arranged fixture will be released as soon as we have them.”
