Six Celtic fans

1375

As six Celtic fans face the prospect of months in a Dutch jail if police evidence is preferred, take a look at this CCTV video from the Euro Pub in Dam Square:

This is no more than the strong bullying the vulnerable.  It is shocking and affected more than just Celtic fans, other innocent bystanders were picked on.

What can you do about it?  We’re looking for around 40 more bucketeers to collect before the Aberdeen game on Saturday for the legal defence of the six Celtic fans.  You’ll need to get to the stadium a bit early, bucket shaking will be required.  That’s all.

If you can help, email dambhoys8@yahoo.co.uk for more information. You’ll enjoy it.

Thank you.

Remember the Q&A in the Columba Club, Blantyre, tomorrow. I’ll be there with Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville. Tickets available at the door, we get underway at 8pm. See you there.

If you have not been to Celtic Park since the last home game, be prepared for pandemonium around London Road on Saturday. No one will be able to walk or drive from London Road up Kerrydale Street to the Park. Check out the open routes here and get there early.

    Deplorable treatment of fans

its not a defence lawyer thats needed its a prosecution lawyer

the world in general seems to think that its okay to beat up fitba fans

i wonder what the response would be if these folks were cinema goers instead of fitba fans

  2. The Honest Cover-up on

Had it been the Tartan Army caught up in that video the media and Salmond would be all over this. Instead the Sevconian journalists gleefully described on the front pages as another “Manchester” then, when a much bigger story emerges of police thuggery, not a peep.

Somehow, despite all the evidence, Timmy must’ve brought it on himself. Well done to the Celts on twitter who are doing this investigating (which our press and authorities really should be digging for) and for arranging collections for the legal fund.

Thank Goodness that woman under the horse survived.

Will be making my contribution into the buckets on Saturday.

All we can ask is that we do our utmost to raise awareness of the ’cause’ that the buckets are getting shook for.

Can see us collecting more than a Sevco share issue!

Police chief said his client was drunk and that he hit a police officer in the media. Both statements are false.

  6. Hebcelt 12.54 Many Thanks Sir. My main CQN pal & contact is kikinthenakas and I try to meet up with him any time I travel. Poor kikinthenakas had a recent hip replacement and at the moment is on the doubtful list. However fortunately he appears to be on the mend and knowing the man, I wouldn’t rule him out yet. I’ll keep an eye on the blog to see what’s going down.

  7. Will do. We all started at Our Lady of Lourdes. Dave played for Wigan when they were non-league. Clive played alongside Dalglish, Vic Davidson + Andy Lynch at Glasgow Utd.

  12. DAVID Forde has admitted he is thrilled to

be linked with a move to Celtic – the club

he has supported since he was a boy.

    The Millwall hierarchy conceded on

Thursday that they face an uphill task to

convince the goalkeeper to extend his

Lions contract , which expires next

    summer.

And, speaking in the Scottish Sun, Forde

says joining the Glasgow side would be

    “special”.

He is quoted as saying: “To be linked with

a club like Celtic is amazing. I grew up

supporting them and just to be associated

with them has given me a lift. It’s very

    flattering.

“I know what Celtic means as a club and

globally. It’s a great, great club. So, yes,

to be part of that would be special.

“Packie Bonner was one of my heroes for

Celtic and Ireland. To get the chance to

follow in his footsteps, to even get close,

    would be fantastic.

“At the moment I’m not aware of any

interest from them or any other club. But

    I’ve a big decision to make. It’s a very

    important stage of my career.

“I am playing for my country and that has

been fantastic. I am enjoying good form

at the moment and things are going well.

“It’s a case of waiting to see what

    happens over the coming months.

“Steve Lomas has said he wants me to

stay. I’m under contract to Millwall and

until anything changes I’ll continue to do

    my best for them.”

“Millwall has been fantastic for me. If I

were to leave I’d be really indebted to the

    club.”

  20. Reference Kev Jungle bucket collections and the like I believe all Celtic Supporters should simply do what they can when injustice is obvious. Similarly when one ( or more) of our own is wrong we need to call it out and not fear that we do the devil’s work for them ( MSM you know who you are.) Good reputations are hard won and easily lost if we don’t fight to maintain them.

In that spirit e-mail to the Dutch embassy.

    Dear Sir/Madam

I write to advise my horror at the actions of the Amsterdam police on the evening of the Ajax v Celtic Champions League match.

I have taken time to review the online footage and Dutch newspaper reportage subsequently and cannot come to any other conclusion than the obvious – that Amsterdam Police have serious questions to answer.

My wife and I have had the pleasure of visiting Amsterdam on several occasions mainly on cultural visits though we have Dutch relations as part of our extended family.

We were warned of previous incidents with other travelling football fans and following the hooliganism of the Ajax support visiting Celtic Park felt it wise to miss this one.

After what I have seen and heard we shall not be visiting Amsterdam again for any reason.

You will be aware I am sure of the reputation of Celtic Supporters worldwide and the awards given by both UEFA and FIFA following the 2003 UEFA Cup Final in Seville.

Many more cities and towns have written to Celtic and Glasgow commending their behaviour as a travelling support.

Celtic Supporters rightly regard this view of them as something to be cherished and travel with simple enjoyment in mind to make friends and raise smiles.

No one is naïve enough however to think that large crowds consuming copious alcohol cannot lead to misbehaviour but the issue of a Noodbevel on this occasion seemed to serve simply as a license for police thugs in plain-clothes and in uniform to indiscriminately attack men and women who had the misfortune to congregate in Dam Square to enjoy the atmosphere surrounding what is intended to be an enjoyable occasion.

It is a pity that police were not as active the previous evening when Celtic Supporters were attacked in the Sailor pub by alleged Ajax Ultras. It is noticeable also that the clothing of these thugs and the police plain-clothes officers in the Dam the next evening is almost indistinguishable. One might ask how Supporters woud know the diference either in appearance or attitude?

These supporters jealously guard their reputation and as you will know have raised the issue at the club’s recent AGM whilst Supporters clubs have allied to raise funds and support to see that justice is seen to be done.

I believe that the Netherland’s reputation has suffered here and that unless firm action is taken to weed out the thugs masquerading as Police it will continue to do so. I trust we will see no whitewash.

I am writing to First Minister Alex Salmond in Scotland and Prime Minister David Cameron on the matter and trust they will pursue the matter vigorously with your Government.

    Yours sincerely

Situation was chaotic, the Arrest Unit could not show their ID

They did shout that they were police and that the suspect was

That suspects did not understand this because they were drunk is their own responsibility.

Violence tactics depend on the resistance.

Violence was in accordance with situation
