Six Celtic fans

1375

As six Celtic fans face the prospect of months in a Dutch jail if police evidence is preferred, take a look at this CCTV video from the Euro Pub in Dam Square:

This is no more than the strong bullying the vulnerable.  It is shocking and affected more than just Celtic fans, other innocent bystanders were picked on.

What can you do about it?  We’re looking for around 40 more bucketeers to collect before the Aberdeen game on Saturday for the legal defence of the six Celtic fans.  You’ll need to get to the stadium a bit early, bucket shaking will be required.  That’s all.

If you can help, email dambhoys8@yahoo.co.uk for more information. You’ll enjoy it.

Thank you.

Remember the Q&A in the Columba Club, Blantyre, tomorrow. I’ll be there with Phil Mac Giolla Bhain and Paul McConville. Tickets available at the door, we get underway at 8pm. See you there.

If you have not been to Celtic Park since the last home game, be prepared for pandemonium around London Road on Saturday. No one will be able to walk or drive from London Road up Kerrydale Street to the Park. Check out the open routes here and get there early.

I totally agree but looking at the arrest figures when Ajax play anyone at home in Europe they seem to go through the roof.

I think the police there feel they are as part of the ultras as the next hooligan.

Watching the events unfold in the court room, only adds to our resolve.

We need to help these bhoys, we need to raise the money to help pay their legal fees.

Put yourself in these bhoys shoes, imagine its George Square before a game, and you are having a few beers, ( I did say imagine!) along come the police decide to batter you with a baton, throw you into the back of the police van, knock your teeth out, break your ribs, break your jaw. Then after they have checked you in, they take you outside in the courtyard and take pics of you on their own phones all the time laughing at you?

Would you have enough money to pay a lawyer to defend yourself? Would you want anyone to come forward to help you?

This is your chance come and take a bucket on Saturday please, show these bhoys they are not alone: email Dambhoys8@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks to each and every one of you who have already volunteered. On behalf of their families Thank You for helping make a difference.

Had a laugh about those “questions and answers”. Brilliant……….

Thanks Parkheadcumsalford but as i said to desertbhoy, I think I may have been better off posting it at another juncture given the solemnity of the info coming in from NL…….

Maybe re-post it later on in the week……….

BTW, thoroughly enjoyed swapping stories the other night re the reserve games of the early 60’s……Magical, magical times for this wee bhoy; well it made me feel like a wee bhoy again. Thanks.

It’s been well documented before but this is the first time former members of the gang have spoken in public.

They were part of Kitson’s Gangs and Counter Gangs/Flags of Convenience madness being run out of Holywood at the very start of the Troubles.

I expect that as the Kenyans who suffered at his hands are now popping up in court there will be more embarrassing (and costly) days ahead for the British government and the British Military. I couldn’t help but laugh at the gang’s assertion that 18 months of murdering catholics/nationalists in the middle of internment defeated the PIRA some 20 years later. 1972 was the worst year of the Troubles with more than 500 deaths.

There were some 3,000 still to come.

    That’s some success.

Also interesting that the NI Attorney General, John Larkin, suddenly pops up and says there should be an end to prosecutions for Troubles-related killings.

The first thing I thought when I heard that yesterday was what have they got to hide?

The second thing I thought was what have they got to hide that even they are embarrassed about some 40 years later?

I haven’t lived in TO for 44 years but back then the Mayor was called William Dennison, he was a pro-labour Mayor and a member of the CCF which became the NDP as near a socialist party as you can get in North America.

Ford is as far right as you can get and like thatcher would love to destroy the unions. I worked close by where his former constituency and now his brother’s is. He has only 16% approval in his home turf, when his brother won the last election the runner up was a Somalian lady.

Both he and the cheating conservative senators up in Ottawa are giving me the best laugh I have had in politics in years.

Rangers have announced that the purchase of more then three million shares on Wednesday was by Laxey Partners Limited.

It makes the Isle of Man-based hedge fund the largest shareholder in Rangers International Football Club plc with 11.64%.

Laxey’s deal cost in the region of £1.3m at market value.

The significance of the deal will be felt at next month’s annual general meeting, where a crucial vote is due.

The current board is looking to win a power struggle with a group that includes former Rangers director Paul Murray and Scottish businessman Jim McColl.

Both parties are confident of emerging from the AGM with control following months of acrimonious disputes over the running of Rangers.

No indication has been given as to who sold the shares on Wednesday, although the only groups who held such an amount are the institutional investors Artemis and Hargreave Hale as well as Blue Pitch.

In addition to the 7,578,672 shares now held by Laxey, the announcement to the London Stock Exchange indicates they are entitled to another 714,285 on or before 19 December as a result of a transfer from the former Rangers chief executive, Charles Green, an arrangement that dates back to October 2012.

In August this year, Laxey bought up more than two million Rangers shares.
