Over the last few days we have worked with Mary’s Meals to identify a second school without basic facilities in one of the most deprived areas of the world. We have confirmed St Josephs’ Primary School in Kasungu, Malawi (the 17th poorest country in the world), which has a roll of 746 pupils and no facilities to provide food, meaning many children have to work to feed themselves instead of being educated.
The necessary permissions have been confirmed, and Mary’s Meals can send resources there as soon as money is available. If we are successful, St Joseph’s will get a brick-built kitchen which will double as a classroom with stoves, pots, utensils, spoons and mugs. As a result, kids will attend school to get what on many occasions will be their only meal of the day. They will also get an education and better chances in later life.
The cost of the kitchen is £7000. We are only six days out from CQteN so we shouldn’t expect miracles but we’ll be here until the job is done.
Construction is underway at our first school at the Kholoni Primary School in Mchinji, Malawi, which has a school roll of 1221 children.
We have a donations page for CQN Mary’s Meals’ projects, if you would like to help out, you can do so here.
Seville, The Celtic Movement, launches this month.
“There were 10 in our party and collecting the tickets took priority. Once we had them we could afford time to eat, but what? Several restaurants were sold out but we eventually found a café with frozen chips and a meat-based slab of something or other. No choices. No beer, wine or cola either, it was diluting orange juice or water. An entire city was pretty much emptied of food and drink.”

I kind of listened to the open all mics on shortbread.
Yes, it was a shouting shambles. :-)

So are Derby- Millwall haven’t won away 12 matches. A few upsets today, so doesn’t matter as much. “smaller” European leagues much easier to predict. Don’t know if that’s good for their game but it’s certainly better for coupons!
CRC cheers also mo chara!

Np, looking forward to catching up, as not seen you for ages

I learned 3 bits of trivial info this morning:-
Alex Ferguson & friends turned up for the Thursday night quiz this week at the Burnside Hotel and only came third.
Stand-up comedians do not put pockets on the suits they wear for their stand-up routine as they can, therefore, claim them as a business expense for tax purposes.
The old saying that “you have to be a right good player to get away with brightly coloured boots” can be disproven.

SFTB –
Not all 3 of those statements were correct there

So Barca lose, game on in La Liga.
EDB,
She always does. Even against England.
am I alone in hoping that rangers win the Scottish cup? (I know) but if they win it and cant get into Europe, how gutted will they be and for me a gutted hun with no history (not even three years accounts) trumps everything …..just how gutted will they be when the runner up plays in Europe at their expence……. never in all my 53 years did I ever wish them any kind of success, but it would settle all arguments
Jobo
The story was that if it had no pockets it could not be said to be for use in daily life
SFTB
I will take that as a compliment, ha , ha!
I had no pockets in my shorts either

“it would settle all arguments.”
It’s only an argument if you avoid indisputable facts.
They really can’t handle that.
A thread on hunmedia, the responses aren’t too nice :)
Does anyone know whatever happened to all those plans years ago about adding another tier to the Govan stand, and the Hotels and Casino’s that were to be built around Ibrox, that would be owned by Rangers to draw in more money to the club, and people were predicting that such renovations would bank £700m for Rangers, what actually happened to those plans, or was it all bullshit?
All I ever seen from those plans was this:
And then nothing else ever came of it, nothing.

I’m pretty sure there is no euro place for the Scottish cup winners.
I may be wrong, but I’m sure I heard this somewhere.
Is that right, the loan for laxative is to be repaid from the SB money ……. hahahahahahaha ‘being taken to the cleaners’ springs to mind……hahahahahahaha

Hail Hail.
A couple of callers have brought up the 15 or 25 point deduction if the huns go into administration.
It was posted earlier, can’t recall the poster but he said…if the point deduction doesn’t affect their league position the points would carry on to the next season.
Could someone in the know clear this up for me.

so when did the national cup winners (or runners up in the case of last year) not qualify for Europe?
charliebhoy,
sorry mate, but i never want to see them, in whatever form they take, win anything. Ever.
Especially at Celtic Park.

Just checked and sir you are correct.
My apologies for being an eegit.
Aberdeen have won the Scottish Cup more than twice as many times as the other 7 quarter finalists put together.
The entry of Scottish clubs to UEFA’s club competitions for Season 2014/15 is determined by reference to the UEFA Country Ranking at the end of Season 2012/13.
At that time, Scotland was ranked 24. This provides access for three clubs through their Scottish Professional Football League position at the end of this Season and one club through this Season’s Scottish Cup.
As a result of that ranking, Scottish entrants to UEFA’s competitions for 2014/15 will be as follows:
Scottish Premiership Champions
Champions League qualifying round 2 (Champions pathway)
Scottish Cup winners
Europa League qualifying round 2
Scottish Premiership runners-up
Europa League qualifying round 2
Scottish Premiership third place
Europa League qualifying round 1
In the event that the Scottish Cup winners have qualified for the Champions League, the Scottish Cup runners-up will qualify for the Europa League but will enter at qualifying round 1. If this happens, then the Scottish Premiership third place club will enter the Europa League at qualifying round 2.

You have to be on your toes with ole the Zombies. They like to invent things like ‘relegation’, ‘punishments’, ‘same club’, ‘land deals’ more ‘land deals’, ‘favourable loans’, ect, ect, ect.
And you have to be even sharper around ‘the ole Zobmies’…
