Six days out and a mountain to climb

1664

Over the last few days we have worked with Mary’s Meals to identify a second school without basic facilities in one of the most deprived areas of the world.  We have confirmed St Josephs’ Primary School in Kasungu, Malawi (the 17th poorest country in the world), which has a roll of 746 pupils and no facilities to provide food, meaning many children have to work to feed themselves instead of being educated.

The necessary permissions have been confirmed, and Mary’s Meals can send resources there as soon as money is available.  If we are successful, St Joseph’s will get a brick-built kitchen which will double as a classroom with stoves, pots, utensils, spoons and mugs.  As a result, kids will attend school to get what on many occasions will be their only meal of the day.  They will also get an education and better chances in later life.

The cost of the kitchen is £7000.  We are only six days out from CQteN so we shouldn’t expect miracles but we’ll be here until the job is done.

Construction is underway at our first school at the Kholoni Primary School in Mchinji, Malawi, which has a school roll of 1221 children.

We have a donations page for CQN Mary’s Meals’ projects, if you would like to help out, you can do so here.

Seville, The Celtic Movement, launches this month.

“There were 10 in our party and collecting the tickets took priority. Once we had them we could afford time to eat, but what? Several restaurants were sold out but we eventually found a café with frozen chips and a meat-based slab of something or other. No choices. No beer, wine or cola either, it was diluting orange juice or water. An entire city was pretty much emptied of food and drink.”

    Hurting hun Brian on SSB tonight demanding Mr 120 day man phones him asap.

  4. and i’m a bit surprised that no one has really objected strongly regarding the huns winning the cup this year, not because im wrong but because it goes against everything we as tims believe in , with two exceptions 1, if we won anything that they were in and we hadn’t beaten the then it was devalued because we never beat them either in the final or on the way to it and the feeling was mutual, this year they haven’t beaten us so its diminished anyway but the best bit it, if they win it and cant get into Europe its because they have no history and as I pointed out earlier, the irony is they would win it at the home of ” if you know your history” there could not be a better time in Celtics history for them to win the cup …..tell this to all the huns you know and watch the blood drain…. I have and its superb every game up to the cup final fans throughout Scotland should start shouting no huns in Europe oh theres no huns in Europe we can have great fun till they get knocked out …..or even longer if they win it…..my English brother in law has commented on the fact that if rangers do win the cup and cant get into Europe doesn’t that make Scotland a laughing stock, after wigan last year I was not letting him off to lightly but I did go on to point out that most Scottish fans consider them scotlands shame……rant (2nd of the day ) over h,h.

  5. Cowboy Boots…

    A girlfriend once told me that her mother told her to never trust a man who;

    Wears slip on shoes

    Doesn’t like football

    Has a moustache

    Souness?

    And there is a big difference between American Boots and Mexican Boots.

    A couple of years ago down Mexico way the boot length went mental with “Tribal Boots” being all the rage — and the bigger the length of the point on the boot– the bigger the attraction to the opposite sex!
