One of the dirty wee secrets of the smaller professional football clubs in Scotland is to offer contracts ending 31 May, often annually. Most clubs are less concerned about their ‘stars’ being picked up for free at the end of the season they about having to play them throughout the close season, as well as carrying the risk of a multi-season contract.
As a consequence, the Daily Record today reveal that five Premiership do not have enough players to complete the season if it was to resume over the summer. Added to this, one lost their manager over the weekend and another do not have a pitch. The Record go on to report that nine of the 12 clubs have accepted reality that the season will end without another ball being kicked, presumably leaving relegated Hearts, Motherwell-chasing Aberdeen and everyone’s favourite loser, Newco, as the hold-outs.
I try not to bang on about the media here – we all make mistakes – but the treatment Neil Doncaster has come under in recent days from a relatively small but vocal number of sources has been incredible. On BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound on Saturday Doncaster attempted to educate the hard of thinking by explaining the difference between an advance – a transaction that is invoiced, has vat, is not subject to a credit processes and is not to be repaid, and a loan – which is not invoiced, has no vat, required credit approval and should be repaid.
He explained that almost all prize money for finishing in the bottom places had been distributed to lower league clubs by March, leaving only the position differentials to be paid out at the end of the season. This is just one of many reasons why loans were a “red herring”. If next week’s SPFL vote comes down to credibility, the board are on terra firma.
I see that time is near again when Newco release their regular. ‘Here’s our great new kit deal, it’s worth millions, honest. The bad old day are behind us’ statement. No deal signed during the crisis is a great deal, with uncertainty over every aspect of retail life, it is just not possible.

I went to St Gregory’s in Lightburn, and when a new school was built across the road, they renamed the old Greg, St Andrews.
Hope this helps.
The new school was obviously called the Greg!

be fair , undefeated since the 6th March
(well, same as everybody else, but theirs was a magnificent world class list of postponed fixtures, and also, on course for longest shut out record)
So when is the ‘evidence’ being released?
To paraphrase Der Bummer Broon :
“Whaur’s the misdeeds?”
Lovely picture of Tommy Burns earlier. We have had better players but never a better Celtic mhan.
Tommy Burns forever my favourite Celt,
I think I misplaced Whitecrook Park. It might still be there and is on the Glasgow bound side as trains leave Clydebank Central station. St Andrews has been demolished.

I think Whitecrook Park became site for St Andrews RC High School.
BANKIEBHOY could probably confirm this.
I can confirm that you are right about it having being on the other side of the railway and was closed around 10 years ago ( and subsequently demolished ). My oldest was in 4th year there at the time

I have been very respectful on the blog of late.

Asking an irc to explain a loan is difficult
Remember an EBT was a loan which wasn’t to be repaid so a loan is t actually a loan in the orc works

I’d forgotten half that roll of shame you listed.
It should be set to music. Maybe in ‘We Didn’t Start the Fire’ style.
So the only way Sevco can get rid of Traynor is to give his job to someone that Traynor is scared of…. The Ulster hun gangsters.
That looks like it has worked.
If the skint huns think Mike Ashley will run away from the Liverpool plastic gangsters then they have no fekin chance.

Tommy was a fair player. Against Nottingham at Forest he was unplayable and they were packed with internationals. Thought he could have benfited from modern fitness methods.
Often played out of position. He played at left back for almost a season under Davie Hay. The word was that Murdo McLeod was the first ask but refused.
Government’s roadmap to ease Covid-19 restrictions will be set out in 5 phases. These phases will be on 3 week review process, the current phases would commence on the following dates:
Phase 1 – 18th May
Phase 2 – 8th June
Phase 3 – 29th June
Phase 4 – 20th July
Phase 5 – 10th August
If coronavirus cases begin to increase, we will revert to the restrictions set out in the previous stage.
🔮 PHASE 1 🔮
Phase 1 of the roadmap will lift the following restrictions:
🔸 Construction workers, landscape gardeners and other outdoor workers may return to work
🔸 Garden centres, repair shops and hardware stores may reopen

🔮 PHASE 2 🔮
Phase 2 of the roadmap will lift the following restrictions:

🔸 Outdoor sporting activities, involving small group training (no matches) can recommenced (no contact still allowed)
🔮 PHASE 3 🔮
Phase 3 of the roadmap will lift the following restrictions:

Re Ashley & Sevco
When Charles Green walked away from Sevco, and left them tied to so called “onerous contracts”, wasn’t one of those contracts a 7 year kit deal tying Sevco to Ashley’s Sports Direct?
If so, could it be… that this 7 yr deal finally ends this summer? If Green left in 2013, then that particular contract must be coming to an end, freeing Sevco up to deal with whoever they chose without having to offer Ashley the opportunity to match any deal.
Or does anyone on here remember when that 7 yr deal starts/ends?
