Snout in trough required, Champions League frustrations

768

The frustration at the news Derk Boerrigter is injured, again, and will miss another important Champions League game, is enormous.  Derk was a big part of our summer signing strategy but he came with a caveat concerning his propensity to suffer injury.

We have seen only flashes of him since he joined from Ajax in the summer.  His opportunities to exploit his undoubted speed in SPFL games will be limited by opponents tendency to defend deep, denying him space to run into, making Champions League games all the more important to his season.

Our other pace player, James Forrest, will surely come into sharp focus for the visit of Ajax on Tuesday.

I see Alasdair Johnston is expressing concern that Our Hero is still pulling the strings at Ibrox!  I never thought of that!

Let’s see…. He is a director of Sevco 5088 Ltd, the firm which had an irrevocable right to buy the assets of liquidated Rangers, he issued a pre-action letter to exercise those rights, there was in independent ‘inquiry’ which completely failed to investigate control of Sevco 5088 Ltd, then he went quiet. Why are we always a day behind the news?

Does that mean he got bored and went away, or is he conducting his business in private?  I am sure it’s the latter but Craig Whyte is the least of Johnston’s concerns when it comes to who is able to pull strings at Ibrox.  All the action is offstage.

Speaking about what is happening offstage, whenever Rangers International’s advisers confirm how the company can appoint sufficient executives to be compliant with AIM requirements, they will need a new chief executive.

Going by recent (and not so recent) trends they will need someone with their snout constantly in the trough, with impeccable Rangers credentials, with their snout constantly in the trough, who is currently available for work, with their snout constantly in the trough, who has previously worked in the game and with their snout constantly in the trough.

If only they could find another genuine fan who would be prepared to do whatever necessary in return for a remarkable contract.  Can’t think of anyone.

Wait a minute………

Thanks to everyone who participated in Show Your Hand yesterday.

Big nan 20.36 I was once asked to join the masons here in fife. Guy said “you’d be surprised who you’d know. I replied ‘”no, I wouldn’t”.

    ……………………………………………

I worked mates for several years with the master of Lodge Torryburn and he was a gentleman, but was always trying to get me converted by argument. Of course there is no principled argument in favour of joining, but I think he was slightly uncomfortable with his own masonry and if he got me to join then that would assuage his guilty conscience.

At one stage we were working at Dunbar and were joined by another Mason and he was also a first class bloke, but wasn’t discreet like my mate and was festooned in Masonic chains, badges, rings, tattoos (The Man who would be King) and the two of them tried for weeks to convert me, but to no avail.

I don’t have any objection to people being in the Craft, but don’t like the aims of the organisation that is freemasonry. I have seen it cause too many injustices in the workplace.

Where I feel they should declare is where they are involved in decision making in the justice system and then they should declare.

I was asked last year by a well known Arbroath hun, mason and ex grand master flash if I wanted to join the brotherhood in Arbroath. He said me being a born catholic would not be a problem with his influence.

I told him I’d rather cut my own balls off with a rusty spoon.

  9. big nan,

My brother stays in fife and in a top position of one of our major companies.

Due to to his first name not to be a given tim name, he is used to being introduced with a knuckle and has been approached on many an occasion to join their cabal.

The position he has achieved was through hard work…maybe thems could learn from that…as we are coming for their jobs if they are not up to it.

That’s kind of spooky in an Ed Gein kind of way. I bet you also grow your own fava beans.

Thank you, the song makes sense now. Always thought it was,” made our love in Gracelands”. Much more poignant now, like it even more. Did it do S B’s legs like,” Give Ireland back to the Irish” to McCartney, No, too much of a British hero.

    Well, I’ll be blowed!

I hesitate to ask what Summa’s line in leather is…..even after the watershed!!

  23. Having watched all available u.tube studies of Sevco v Stennie and the actions of the armed forces.

It leaves me saddened and sickened that the authorities take no action. So it is ok for the armed forces to join in unison to chant ” f**k bobby sands he’s deid “. Shocking, shocking shocking.

Does anyone care what the sands family feel when they see and hear this.

I have heard this song sung by the sevco mob for years jet no journo stood up and said this is not acceptable.. No fans have been arrested

However I sympathise that Celtic fans and being arrested for singing songs that allegedly glorify the IRA

That is twice that the armed forces have disgraced themselves in Govan. Yet it seems to be acceptable and will continue.

Well Mr first minister Salmond what are you going to do ? . McCaskill secretary of state for justice what are you going to do ?

The police seem to state that no case to answer. My god that is disgusting and a worry for our society
