The frustration at the news Derk Boerrigter is injured, again, and will miss another important Champions League game, is enormous. Derk was a big part of our summer signing strategy but he came with a caveat concerning his propensity to suffer injury.
We have seen only flashes of him since he joined from Ajax in the summer. His opportunities to exploit his undoubted speed in SPFL games will be limited by opponents tendency to defend deep, denying him space to run into, making Champions League games all the more important to his season.
Our other pace player, James Forrest, will surely come into sharp focus for the visit of Ajax on Tuesday.
I see Alasdair Johnston is expressing concern that Our Hero is still pulling the strings at Ibrox! I never thought of that!
Let’s see…. He is a director of Sevco 5088 Ltd, the firm which had an irrevocable right to buy the assets of liquidated Rangers, he issued a pre-action letter to exercise those rights, there was in independent ‘inquiry’ which completely failed to investigate control of Sevco 5088 Ltd, then he went quiet. Why are we always a day behind the news?
Does that mean he got bored and went away, or is he conducting his business in private? I am sure it’s the latter but Craig Whyte is the least of Johnston’s concerns when it comes to who is able to pull strings at Ibrox. All the action is offstage.
Speaking about what is happening offstage, whenever Rangers International’s advisers confirm how the company can appoint sufficient executives to be compliant with AIM requirements, they will need a new chief executive.
Going by recent (and not so recent) trends they will need someone with their snout constantly in the trough, with impeccable Rangers credentials, with their snout constantly in the trough, who is currently available for work, with their snout constantly in the trough, who has previously worked in the game and with their snout constantly in the trough.
If only they could find another genuine fan who would be prepared to do whatever necessary in return for a remarkable contract. Can’t think of anyone.
Wait a minute………
Thanks to everyone who participated in Show Your Hand yesterday.

Tell you what though…I’d love to hear a sevco debate with ra Bomber and Tom English, and wee Chic as well….that would induce total hilarity way off the richter scale
I’d pay to hear that one :)

Fellow CQN-ers..
Like many of you I’m slightly (?) OCD…I can’t get the Chick Young performance out of my head. I have not only written to BBc but made contact with SFA to get formal verification on their position in relation to what was suggested last night.
I know I should probably laugh this off – but I won’t. This is a serious misuse of taxpayer’s money – allowing (another!!) BBC journalist to use BBC radio as a means of spreading misinformation and blatantly denying facts for the purposes of RFC PR.
Where’s that list of MSPs….?
Chic Young the new Chief of Newco surely that cant be right hes a ST.Mirren man through and through is he not ? H.H.

Looks like curtains for sevco….hee, hee:)

cultsbhoy-Lloyds Bank won’t be happy either, at Young’s implication that they killed the huns.
Kitalba,
Wise as in, “long in the tooth”?
Brilliant another player joins the ranks of non manager signed players.
Alasdair MacLean:
Nah! Wise as in, bald gums.
Curtains for sevco? Well if it wisnae for Venetian Blinds it would be curtains for us all.
Ktalba,
That would be sooking the bullet then……
The response on another site to having sevco anywhere in Scottish football.
“Having Sevco in Scotland is like keeping your slops bucket in your living room”.
Cultsbhoy. so if you were the manager at celtic .would you have signed a player who has had a lot of injury problems, thats all im saying.
Alasdair MacLean:
I think it would be wise if we took that one no further.

Whoah, that’s a bit of a leap of logic there. If true, then Lenny is a great actor as he said this on the day he signed:
“He is the type of player we have been looking for for a while. He is a very fast, direct, left-footed player who has goals in him with his left and right foot. He is also very powerful. He has good experience and he has played at a high level for the last two or three years.”
Aye, but it’s all the players that the manager never signed that are crap or keep gettin’ injured!
8-)
You do know this Penguin Classic is out today and doesn’t cost much at all:

Anyone who thinks someone will dip their toe in the water to see if they can stick their snout in the trough or get their hands stuck in the till, must have their head in the sand!
And they’ll need eyes in the back of their head and their finger on the pulse.
They will need to step up to the plate and bring something to the table…
And somehow keep their nose clean…. as they batten down the hatches and get ready for a baptism of fire….
OK, I’ll keep my ear to the ground for someone who fits the bill……
Make sure they can push the envelope and think outside the box..
TimBhoy2
I felt you were making quite a statement about our Manager with your comment. My recollection was that Lenny was effusive about Derk. I don’t think Lenny is the type to keep his true feelings to himself if he felt otherwise..
Kitalba,
A Chewin the Fat “You’ve gone too far” moment.
Need some work pressure to get me off here today.
If it’s true that lustig is injured the probability that Lenny signed him has just taken a nose dive.

Ajax suggested Boerrigter was a sick note ……he denied it …obviously lied
Some raised concerns …. Others accused of scaremongering
With money so tight we need to save £10m from transfers while still qualifying for the CL …our meager resources should not be wasted on players with questionable fitness records ..Mouyokolo was a joke signing …Boerrigter , I’m not surprised …seems it’s now being suggested that CFC knew that too…hmmm
VVD is our only signing to make an impact …not a happy situation
