I went to see Arbroath V Airdrie ( Is it OK to call them that?) last Saturday. A cracking game with Arbroath winning via a last minute penalty. In the pub before the game, one Airdrie fan was a bit cocky in a Hun-like way but, and this is the point of this post, all the other Airdrie fans at the game were just ordinary football fans supporting their team. There was no segregation of supporters and not a sniff of trouble.Two thoughts arose from this:
1) Are we ( Celtic Supporters) too ready to tar too many as Huns? These guys were DEFINITELY Airdrie supporters and nothing else;
2) Yet again,very well-behaved football supporters have shown that the ridiculous Offensive Behaviour etc Bill is most certainly NOT to do with the general behaviour of football supporters at games.

The surprise is at the length of the ban and why an innocuous kick was worth a 3 game ban when a career threatening tackle on him was worth 6 games reduced to 3. So many issues in football’s rules and rulings are not proportionate to the offence.
There are very good reasons as to why so many of us are surprised
I think Celtic are quite correct to appeal the Broonie ban – I mean there is violent conduct and violent conduct, – Broonie’s ‘crime’ was hardly off the radar.

He loved the Hoops and had the great privilege of cheering on legends like Jimmy McGrory(!) who was at the end of his illustrious career, Malcolm MacDonald (who later became a friend), Jimmy Delaney, Bobby Evans, Charlie Tully, Sean Fallon (the hardest tackler he ever saw!), Bobby Collins…

I am torn as to whether we need 2 defensive mids in Kayal and Ledley (or Biton) to screen our right back if Fisher has to play or whether to try two up front because neither Pukki or Stokes, supported by Commons, is a very testing attack for Ajax to face.
Should we go 4:4:2 to give them something to think about or do we defend our exposed right back? No doubt, Lenny will get crucified for whatever he does.
So they ain’t prosecuting any of the armed forces, what about the thousands of zombies caught in camera???
