So which journos were secretly being paid by Oldco?

622

How many people working as ‘journalists’ in Scottish football were secretly on the payroll of Oldco Rangers (or Rangers International, for that matter)?  Is this common practice in newspapers, did the Daily Record know about it? Wonder how they will play the news story…

Any suggestions as to who else might’ve been on the oldco/Sevco payroll?  Any ex-Celtic players?

Most of us have spent the last season trying to value Victor Wanyama.  If he goes, it’s important we achieve as high a price as possible, not for the money itself, but Victor’s value will be reflected in the value of the rest of the squad – and it’s important we move our player trading up the food chain.

SPL football doesn’t count towards a valuation but the Champions League does, and Victor’s five group games (less so the Juventus games) are the basis of whatever figures will be offered.

Delighted Celtic are hosting a charity match in September for Stiliyan Petrov’s new charity foundation. The player has undertaken a remarkable fight over the last year or so and is an example to many.

I doubt I will manage to go to Hamilton Races.

I have an appointment for the Hospital on the Monday after Hamilton, and as it’s my birthday on race day, I can’t trust myself to stay of the drink, and I wouldn’t go into Hospital for an examination with the after effects of a night on the booze.

So I’m going to decline what would have been a good day out.

  4. Maley’s Boy,

Just saw your post regarding Championsgate Golf Course from last night (22.40). Not sure if anyone responded.

I played the National Course (2 courses International & National, both designed by Greg Norman) a month ago. Nice course in good condition although the greens had been aerated (spiked) when I played. Didn’t make much difference, greens still rolled true.

Because of this the round cost me $55 as opposed to $99. That’s for 18 holes, a bucket of range balls & cart. Both courses are normally priced at $99 which I think is a bit overpriced. Doesn’t include hired clubs.

I also played Ridgewood Lakes (about 5 miles further down the I27 from Championsgate) which was terrific value. Greens were like carpets, as good as I’ve played on. Not as upmarket or fancy as Championsgate but they did 18 holes, a cart & lunch for $24.95! An absolute steal.

Highlands Reserve is not far from Championsgate either and although I didn’t play, it looks pretty good value at around $50 per round.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Wanyama will sign extensions or he will will go when it suits Celtic…no one else.

Even the chumps of the EPL get 50M per year……

Theres 15M in it for plus add ons when we let him go IMHO

  6. Long time viewer, first post. I was watching CelticTV and they were showing a free video of the first day of training. There was a powerfully built player shown frequently in the video playing defense who I did not recognize and assume is a trialist. Definitely was not Virgil Van Dijk or Amido Balde. Anyone seen the video or have any idea who it is?

EDB – God Bless and may you find peace.
