So which journos were secretly being paid by Oldco?

622

How many people working as ‘journalists’ in Scottish football were secretly on the payroll of Oldco Rangers (or Rangers International, for that matter)?  Is this common practice in newspapers, did the Daily Record know about it? Wonder how they will play the news story…

Any suggestions as to who else might’ve been on the oldco/Sevco payroll?  Any ex-Celtic players?

Most of us have spent the last season trying to value Victor Wanyama.  If he goes, it’s important we achieve as high a price as possible, not for the money itself, but Victor’s value will be reflected in the value of the rest of the squad – and it’s important we move our player trading up the food chain.

SPL football doesn’t count towards a valuation but the Champions League does, and Victor’s five group games (less so the Juventus games) are the basis of whatever figures will be offered.

Delighted Celtic are hosting a charity match in September for Stiliyan Petrov’s new charity foundation. The player has undertaken a remarkable fight over the last year or so and is an example to many.

  8. Afternoon all.

I am no defender of freemasonry but actually, Sheriff Irivine Smith’s damning condemnation of the Rangers director’s evidence is a sign that there is hope.

Most, but not all judges would have came to the aid of their brethren in distress.

Irvine Smith didn’t and he was seen by his Rangers supporting friends as “disloyal”.

In my experience some Masons are decent people who join out of tradition and are unlike the normal, opportunist or bigoted type who use the Craft to further their own ends.

Murdo gives a firm Mason’s handshake and this may explain his bias towards the Hun in commentary, or it may be that he was on the payroll.

“I think it was a method of us acquiring, especially football wise, better players in a more cost effective manner than we would be able do so.”

    Are you reading, Nimmo/Bryson?

As a club, we have been very successful, because we’ve been able to attract players of a certain standard that, perhaps, we may not have been able to do otherwise.

A quote attributed to Kriss Commons in the papers this morning “But obviously the Champions League games are the biggest draw and that’s the stage everyone wants to play on”

So can anyone enlighten me as to when Southampton or Cardiff are likely to compete in the aforementioned tournament this season or seasons to come

As for secret payments to journos if the proof is there then please name names because till then all it appears to be is Internet speculation

I suppose like other Celtic supporters I feel big Victor is worth more than 12..5 million however, when I think of it without my greedy glasses on its a good bit of business for a player we are told we paid less than a Million for.I am certain that the SSM will have a sell on clause in the deal and if he can sell Hooper for 7.5 million and I think we may very well get that, we will bring in 20 Million plus another 20 million from last seasons Champions league and 2 Million for winning the SPL that will be a minimum of 42 Million for the club. Now I hear and read from some fans that our board are not doing a good job for the supporters or the club well to end that feeling all you have to do is look at the state of the rest of the clubs in Scotland we are so far ahead of them we are out of sight We have a great chance to have another great financial season this coming season and we have already started bringing new promising youngsters in to the club whats is not to like ?H.H.

  23. No charles its a bit early for bonfires. Its been a bit of a crazy Gaa day, Dublin drew with Kilkenny and should have beaten them and London drew in Connaught Football semi having been 2pts up with a couple of minutes left.
