It’s been a fascinating day for Molde, who re-appointed former manager old Gunnar Solskjaer on a three year contract. The timing of this one is incredible, coming a few days after an international break, which would provide the perfect opportunity for the club to make changes and prepare for the challenges ahead.
After winning the league in 2014, their third Norwegian title in four years, Molde sit 7th with three games remaining. Recent form hasn’t been too bad. They have won each of their last two league games, scoring seven goals, and sit top of their Europa League group after drawing with Ajax. Interim boss, Erling Moe, had steadied the ship. You could argue he exceeded expectations.
Solskjaer won the first two of those titles, but his reputation faded in 2013, when an unknown young Stromdgodset coach stopped him winning three-in-a-row in 2013. He joined Cardiff City in January 2014 but could do nothing to arrest their slip into relegation and was sacked a month into their aimless Championship campaign.
He’s been carrying out various media and youth coaching roles since, waiting on the right job to come along. Molde have been looking for a permanent manager since parting company with Tor Ole Skullerud at the beginning of August. Solskjaer was reportedly their prime target back then but it looks like he’s held off until now, perhaps hoping for a gig in the well-heeled English game.
Apologies for the metaphor, but he dumped his girlfriend for a looker he knew from his student days, but who was way out of his league, so he soon found himself on the shelf. After spending months looking around he’s gone back to his old flame, who had let herself go but has got her act together in recent weeks.
I’m sure they’ll be very happy together. This is your time, Ronny. Beat them.

Good Evening GG
Hoop your are well?
Now you have hit on the dilemma that most businesses are facing rightly or wrong by previously paying a lower wage,
Other options as I see it, could be:
a) Celtic accept a reduced profit/ higher loss as a result of introducing this “principle”.
Would the shareholders accept this?
b) Another option is to make the apparently “performance related bonuses” paid to the senior team actually performance related and based on success on the pitch and profit of the business. Currently they appear to be paid by default.
By doing so, would this attract the correct quality of management relevant for our club?
Can you achieve a successful team on the pitch and return an accept profit within our current business model?
Whatever options we choose, I am sure it will not please everybody

BBC Scotland are typical of the Scottish meeja. Their allegiances are to Norway, Sweden, Kazakhstan or anyone we happen to meet in European football. Celtic are never the home team as far as they are concerned.

Not confident it’ll be like Hamilton except Molde are a good team :-)

Every day is a school day on CQN. Only found out today the living wage was a different thing to the minimum wage.
————————————-
From 1 April 2016, the “minimum wage” is to be replaced with the “National Living Wage” albeit at a higher rate but still below the “living wage”. Conveniently done to confuse things or a step in the right direction?

Five hours’ kip then flight to Molde. I am so looking forward to this.
2-1 to the good guys. Molde have got their tails up with OGS signing up again but we have the beating of them.
They are fast and tricky up front but a bit soft in the centre – our midfield should win that battle.
I’m not going to even talk about their frailties in defence because I know all about pots and kettles and I do not want to tempt fate.
The recall includes 2.7 million vehicles in North America, 1.2 million in Europe and 600,000 in Japan. It involves the Yaris, Corolla, Matrix, Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Tundra and other models, according to Toyota.
The defect was caused by grease which was sprayed on improperly during the manufacturing of electrical contact modules. Debris or moisture could enter the module, and that could lead to a short circuit, Toyota said.
In the 60s, oh how we miss them, a car manufacturer would have rolled on the floor with laughter if we had complained about a faulty electrical circuit.
Lucas would have needed to double their staff to fix their multitude of electrical faults.
Weet weet weet
Reading that out loud would have me sentenced to at least a week of making my own food, washing my own underwear and ironing my own shirts.

I can never ,ever remember any Celtic fan being nervous about facing Norwegian opposition in the past. And that was with some real duff teams.Man for man,I dont think that many of the Molde players would be starting regularly in our 1st team.
I am going for a Celtic win,and another at Celtic Park.
CRC
I’m just peachy, as an old Philly friend of mine was wont to say.
I’m just waiting patiently for the Mets game to start in Chicago.
Possible sweep tonight.
Six points from the next 2 games.
Only problem I see is that we will give them too much respect.
Captain Marvel will marshall us through.

Can you share it when finished ?
Hope all is well in the cave . HH
Glendalystonsils, yes indeed , such was the glee on reporting about Solskjaer that I thought he was actually playing up front for Molde
HH
Phil
And tonight’s ‘did he really say that??’
Co-commentator with Keepyeinthe Dark tonight, (Danny Mills?), explained to us that Citeh would miss Aguero (correct), but David Silva wouldn’t be such a big miss for them.
Yeah, that David Silva, best midfielder in the EPL, one of the top 5 in World football, playmaker extraordinaire, oh, and World Cup winner!
But dispensable, unlike Danny in his ‘playing’ days, now paid to talk pash
Anyway, I notice it’s today now, so Come On Ye Bhoys In Green!
Hmmmmm…..
Quite a disrespectful headline analogy towards a true Norwegian legend with an incredible career haul of proper gold medals….
Maybe Rony Delia is deserving of more respect?
I dunno……Maybe OGS has the looker and Rony deserves only the hooker?
We will find out tomorrow in the Thursday night Silver Medal Cup, I guess?

“I can never ,ever remember any Celtic fan being nervous about facing Norwegian opposition in the past. And that was with some real duff teams. ”
We have only ever played 4 ties against Norwegian opposition- all against Rosenborg.
In 1972, a very good Celtic squad secured 2 narrow wins, without a clean sheet, by 2:1 and 3:1.
In 2001- MON’s Celtic lost on aggregate to Rosenborg, when a 2:0 defeat followed a narrow 1:0 home win. We are 6 goals for and 4 against over these 4 ties.
I see no grounds for over confidence or for treating this as diddy league opposition. Outwith The Faroes, Andorra and Leichtenstein, there is a European shortage of diddy or pub team opposition to fit with the perceptions of some of our fans.
Lie you, I see no reason to be nervous, but I see plenty reason to fear a setback or dropped points. At least, weather does not appear to be a factor as the forecast does not foresee Snow or rain.
Angelgabriel
Aye, he is obsessed, and obesse if the truth be known :-)
He is fanatical about stats, he goes to a fair few games, Celtic games obviously, records everything, goes over them again and again, he is also a bit of a gambler, makes sense.
He promised me he will give me his findings in the new year when they are compiled, I will post them.
He did tell me that min for min, Efe is way down the list of F ups, sort of puts all them footy managers on the blog in their place, but they see things the way the msm tell them to see it imo.

Wish he was.
Cannae be as sharp these days at 42, surely??
If we play a 4:4:1:1 / 442 as we did in Ajax and Qarabag, and ‘ choose our moments’ , then. I think we will get a result, probably a draw and possibly a win.
Either way, with two away games played, and two home games due, if we get a point tonight and win two home games we will qualify for next stage.
Alternatively, if we go 4231 , with full backs pushing up and straying into 2:2:5:1, then we will lose.
One bit of advice I would offer to RD is to remember you don’t have to dominate the whole 90 minutes.
Defend with two banks of 4 when we don’t have possession, capitalise on momentum and we will get a result.
My team would be
Gordon
Lustig , Boyata, Efe, Izzy
Janko, Brown, Biton , Armstrong
Johansen
Griffiths

Sevilla were playing in the CL tonight thanks to winning the Silver Cup!
Silver cup leading to a pot of gold these days.
Can only see a Malmo-style defeat tomorrow – we could get a win at CP- thereafter a defeat in Fenerbace and probably a draw with Ajax in Glasgow – total points six – bottom of group.
Management and squad are naive and fragile FACT
Hope Celtic can pass the ball better than the Norwegians, in the forecasted high winds tonight…..
Never witnessed a Celtic side as bad at passing the ball as the current lot…..
Seriously…..NEVER
Notice Malmo beat CL group stage regulars, known to have claimed a few big scalps over the years, Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 tonight.
4 seconds in….
How to pass the ball in a Hoops shirt.

McAvennie scores a double in Celtic’s 2-0 win in the first game of their centenary year.
Beatbhoy….
I think Shaktar are about as good as Sevco these days….
Civil war in Ukraine means they are all over the place
They will finish with zero points
Disgrace UEFA let them into the competition really.
No team will go to their home ground.
Exiled Tim.
The Effe stats don’t surprise me.
Unfortunately when he has made a mistake the consequences have been severe.
I look forward to your mate’s compilation.
On tomorrow , sorry tonight’s game.
As in any away game in Europe.
The opposition will be of a far higher quality than what we face in Scotland.
Subsequently , hand bitten of for a draw.
Not negative , just realistic, especially with injury concerns.
Off to the 4poster. Sleep well.HH.
In ALCS game 5 tonight in Toronto, the Blue Jays recovered from last nights 14-2 drubbing to beat KC Royals by the right royal score of 7-1
The series goes back to Kansas City for the final two games with KC leading 3-2.
Friday and possibly Saturday should be exciting.
Meanwhile as I have my evening cuppa while watching Wheel of Fortune, the Mets will start game 4 against the Cubs in 20 odd minutes leading 3-0 and on the verge of the World Series.
Sweep?
Bet the head of CIA doesn’t have an aol account anymore lol

They’ve been playing there for a few years now.

Have they had time to register him properly as their manager??
Evening/morning all. I will be happy with a 1-1 or even a 0-0. We will beat this lot at home, which should leave us in a good position to qualify. HH

I thought with your reputation as the Messenger, the Angel of Revelations,
You could be a bit more specific about the outcome in Molde.
