Graeme Souness today told a Daily Record reporter that he received his EBT LOAN from Rangers because:
“I was doing work for Rangers.
“I was in between jobs. I was going to scout for Glasgow Rangers at that time”.
Payment in return for “doing work” is what this whole business is all about. Payment for “doing work” is taxable. It cannot be remunerated via a non-repayable loan.
Mr Souness was manager of Blackburn Rovers from 14 March 2000 until 6 September 2004.
As Blackburn manager, he signed Tugay from Rangers on 17 May 2001. He requested £30,000 from the Rangers EBT scheme five weeks later.
“In between jobs” Really? These dates make that an interesting claim.

Delaney’s, my two pals travelled by train and ferry to Belfast for that game.
They were on the same train as Lou from Larne to Belfast . They said he was very quiet as he wasexpecting some trouble when they got off the train as some guys on the train going over to the game were a bit loud and he knew the RUC would be at the station waiting for the bhoys coming into town.

A RUC bullet nearly took Lou’s ear off that night. He joined up with his mates from Andytown for the game. Guess who the RUC targetted? Edith told me she expected to die from a Brit bullet that night for following her team from Glasgow to Belfast. Glad I pulled out that trip at the last minute.

What was his motivation? – If he is being truthful, and we have no way of knowing that at the moment, I believe that he was saying, look I undertook some work for Rangers and they paid me, in a way of their own choosing.
