Spartak sack manager Emeri after derby defeat

871

Spartak Moscow today sacked manager Unai Emeri after a 1-5 home league defeat against eight placed Dinamo Moscow.  Spartak are confirmed as bottom of Celtic’s Champions League group before they head to Celtic Park for the final game on 5 December.

Emeri has been increasingly unpopular since taking over earlier this year when his spell at Valencia ended, while rumours of dissent in the dressing room were never far away.  I had hoped he would remain in place for the visit to Glasgow but there will be a new man in charge by then.

A group of around 200 supporters demonstrated after the game, many chanting for the foreign players to ‘Go home’.

Pretty sure FFM regrets his comments,as many of us have been known to do on here.

The post I directed at KEVJUNGLE on Friday, for example, had me hanging my head in shame the second I sent it.

The substance of the post was generally ok,if a tad strong.

The personal add-on at the end was beneath contempt.

Fortunately for me,I wriggled out of it,ASAP. And Kev generously let it go. (Cheers, bud!)

FFM hasn’t had that chance,so I hope he’s not beating himself up too much about it.

We’ve all been there-well,practically every one of the nightshift has!

Canny speak for those shrinking violets on days, haha…

My mates back home don’t have a “pass-out mechanism”

Almost to a man, they’d rather stott their way to the bar for more,in preference to staggering home.

That was where my original CQN moniker came from.

When asked what I wanted,I would reply-Had enough o’ it fer wan night.

So they started calling me Aiden for a bit,the bassas!

  5. I guess FFM is banned.

FFM is a positive addition to this site.

    Tolerance.

To be more specific, tolerance to alcohol.

English people cannot handle drink,it’s a genetic thing.

Scottish people can dabble with the devil’s buttermilk, but it sends them crazy it does.

Pricing is all important – Look at the price of a pint in Scotland or England – very very reasonable,i am sure you will agree. And why is it so cheap? Well, because it is pish water, that’s why.

You cannot sell quality pints of beer to these folk, because they will go mental on it.Any self respecting beer lover in those countries will be found knocking back the wee 330mls bottles of imported Dutch,Belgian or German beer.

Cheap pints are a false economy.

Same as shorts, wee nips ya get, inexpensive, but they are only 25mls – if a bar attempted to sell those measures in Ireland…there would be a riot.

    Think about it.

  7. Sixteen roads to Golgotha on

Why would FFM be barred for? Swearing and cursing at 5 in the morning? Big deal!!

I appreciate that the site needs to be regulated, but it is far too serious at times.

Perhaps there should be a watershed – from 12 til 4 or 5,if posters want to eff and blind, let them?

    Samaras astonishing journey..

    08th September 2012

Georgios Samaras journey over the last twelve months has been astonishing. The player was subject to treatment by those who enjoying booing at the football and suffered the indignity of being subject to an exchange at last year’s AGM which must have made it difficult to rebuild confidence and form.

Now he is the most effective man in the team. He was involved in six out of Celtic’s eight Champions League qualifier goals. He has found his position, wide on the left, where he scores and creates more goals than he ever did as part of a forward two. The space on the wing allows those long legs to stretch and get behind defenders.

I’m not paying too much attention to the scare stories which emerged from Latvia last night following his elbow injury, we will need to wait on the results of a scan to know the extent of the damage, but there is modest alarm ahead of our opening Champions League group game against Benfica in 11 days.

I used to work with a handicapped man, who stayed in his own home.

He was quite violent, so there was always two of us on.

He would start the day with loads of drugs to keep him calm, but we were armed with restraint training and more drugs if it all kicked off.

    And it often did.

I always thought it was sad that he lived a medicated life.

    I dunno,mate. I kinda see your point about alcohol,but I see a difference.

Your “charge” was unable to function without drugs to allow him to do so.

Over the years,I have kept the company of many a heavy drinker, and borderline/functioning alcoholics.

All of whom were capable of life without booze. Though few would choose to do so.

My job has an added bonus-apart from boring the pants off you lot overnight while getting paid for it-of having to do split shifts on a Wednesday and Thursday.

Which means nae bevvy. And,as luck would have it,refraining from alcohol for two days a week is the latest medical advice!
