SPFL: EARLY KICK-OFF NEXT SEASON

CELTIC will unfurl the newly-won Premiership League flag – hopefully! – in the first home game of the 2015/16 season on Saturday, 1st August, or 24 hours later.
The SPFL have confirmed start dates for next campaigns league and Cup competitions. The Premiership will kick-off on the opening weekend of August with the Championship, League One and League Two beginning a week later.
However, those teams involved in the lower tiers of Scottish football will be in action on the opening weekend with the early stages of the League Cup starting on 1st August, while the Petrofac Training Cup takes place a week earlier on Saturday, 25th July.

Either one or two League Cup first-round matches may be moved due to the involvement of a Premiership club which creates a clash with the start of the top flight.

A full list of fixtures for all divisions will be released towards the middle of June.

Celtic plan to get the league wrapped up as quickly as possible then rest up some of the more experienced players who have had the majority of match time this season. When the season ends the players will have a three week break before returning for pre-season and in particular to prepare for the Champions League Qualifiers – again hopefully! – with the intention to avoid what happened last season against Legia Warsaw and Maribor.
It is apparently Ronny Deila’s intention to cut out the pre-season Euoprean tours that the club have taken on in recent seasons so the squad will prepare at Lennoxtown.
