SPFL have no choice but to act on confidentiality breaches

418

Former SPL chief exec Roger Mitchell is fond of saying his old job had all the responsibility and none of the power, as ultimate control of the League lies with the clubs.  Neil Doncaster has lived through a period of his life he will never forget, but after issuing a comprehensive rebuttal to the ‘dossier’ yesterday, he may reflect that his powerbase has been significantly enhanced by the traumas.

The tone of the SPFL’s response, signed by nine of the 10 directors, is unlike anything I have read before from a comparable body; “baseless, damaging and self-serving attacks”, they did not miss the target and hit the wall.

With no charge outstanding, votes against the League will amount to little more than historical allegiances with the protagonists.  They will do well to get 25% support, instead of the 75% required for success.

I commented on Thursday that the phrase “serious breach of fiduciary duties” was likely to feature in news reports soon.  Instead, the League opted for “gross breaches of confidentiality” for distributing confidential parts of their Sky TV contract in the dossier appendix.

The board have no choice but to act in order to protect their broadcast contracts from breach.  The irony of trying to claim the League is jeopardising a contract by actively jeopardising that same contract is off the scale and indicates the levels at which we are operating at.

  1. I meant to mention in my Post at 7.34am this morning, that the huns have accused the SPFL of NOT advising the Clubs about possible TV Companies making legal claims against the SPFL ( Refunds), which in turn would damage the Clubs ?

The SPFL have ALREADY stated this week that they were NOT prepared to suggest anything that others MAY do..including TV Company legal claims, which would have prejudiced matters further down the line.

What part of that do the Huns not understand ?

Hello again all you young rebels.

Good morning BIG JIMMY from a very quiet mothers day here

    in Melbourne.

A very disgruntled princess a wee but happier now that wee Grace

facetimed her with a big smile and a heartfelt message.

Yes Jimmy this lockdown is murder but when you get another hun

statement it cheers me up just knowing how much they are hurting.

Stay strong Jimmy our day will come.

  3. Good morning CQN from another sunny but quite windy morning in the Garngad

Big Jimmy – hope you are as well as you can be after 53 days indoors. I wish Sevco would just die, I bet these sad fecker’s in the Scottish Mainstream Media would still say they are going for 55, what a feckin laughing stock.

I hope the SPFL throw the book at them with a big fine and if they refuse to pay dock them points and if they appeal set a date into next season that will impact in the new campaign. But I sincerely doubt the SPFL will do anything.

MM – good morning sir, how is your youth football team holding up in all of this, have you not set them tasks/training??

    D. :)

  4. Ps I see Leigh Griffiths has been training up at the Candy (St Rochs Juniors) for past few weeks.

    D. :)

  5. Meant if Sevco die and come back as a third entity that the SMSM would say still going for 55

To much Lager in garden yesterday😂🍺😂🍺😂

fingers are the only thing getting exercised on the x box lol.

AoW- correct, the SMSM,using the Fernando Ricksen tragedy,to garner sympathy for their failing case.Shameful.

Paul67, the layout of the CQN site seriously sux.

Navigating through pages, having to click on the comments, then on the more comments and wading through screens of old articles etc…, spontaneously being kicked out again and again, it is nonsense.

    Suggestion : Keep it simple.

The simple rule is : have the stuff up-front/in your face which people want to access and make navigation through the comments as easy & smooth as possible. All secondary articles/features should be accessible via some button/option if you choose to select it. None of the secondary articles/features should be up-front/in your face.

Get rid of all the clutter.

    ——-

and the chevron buttons at the bottom that take you to the next/previous page number

the general rule is a single chevron takes you to the next/previous page

a double chevron takes you to the first/last page

there should be both but here we only have a double chevron that takes you to the next/previous page

    just wrong!!

I’ll tell you what really annoys me

I haven’t seen my dad for 8 weeks( well apart from2 metre distances)

Haven’t been with my siblings nephews nieces etc for same time

Haven’t been with mates for a beer or a laugh about football and Sevco

Missed 3 of my mates funerals because of this pandemic and yet

those clowns in England and East Belfast hold street parties with no or little social distancing, we will never get back to normal as long as those f wits are allowed to carry on in this way

    Stir crazy ..

Oh Jenna and Steve are engaged , whoever the feck they are …

Being logged out and having to login then post something to get access to all the comments is a minor inconvenience. Certainly not going to stop me visiting here multiple times per day.

Lets All Do The Huddle is correct about the chevrons and should be available as a standard widget in the developers toolbox.

    p.s. I didn’t have to login this morning 😀

I’m choking for a beer but even if it was the last place on earth i wouldn’t go back into Wetherspoons , bad enough his Stan e on Brexit but paying off his staff straight away showed what a Tory self serving clown he is

    My beer will come

  14. BT.

Haven’t seen my grand daughters for 6 weeks, my wife has underlying health issues!!.

They normally stay with us every weekend.

Its breaking her heart!, mines too.

  15. From Bada`s 0:13 link looking into how to reopen pubs :

” “One option could be to ease restrictions partially, or in a staggered way,”

    :-)))

  16. Big Jimmy “going for 55” you’ll see it before those sevconite huns ever do – they’re still looking for 1.

Fair play to you Jimmy 53 days of self isolation and still managing to keep your sense of humour and sense of reality.

    Take care.

Still nothing from SOT? Does not augur well. 🙁

  17. !!Bada Bing!! on

BT- agree,Tim Martin is a dog and don’t use Wetherspoons, but soon I can see him,Green King and major pub owners, going to court to get pubs and restaurants to open. They will say there is no difference to social distancing in a supermarket, than to a pub.If they reduce capacities, use SD,provide sanitizer etc, they could have a strong case.HH

    ST

Heartbreaking for many but hopefully we are beating it

    Bada

You could counter by saying supermarkets already provide food and drink therefore no need to increase the risk by opening pubs and restaurants

  19. !!Bada Bing!! on

Sophy Ridge on Sky News is hopeless, like being interviewed by your big sister.

  20. !!Bada Bing!! on

BT- I’m saying from a business case, pubs and restaurants big employers, community hubs etc. There will be risks everywhere now,it’s how to manage them as safely as possible.

  21. Have to be honest. I have used Wetherspoons here very often, although I knew of his stance on Brexit. His treatment of his staff at lockdown has finished me with him.

  22. blantyretim is praying for the Knox family on

I know Bada, I was just countering the case for safety reasons, how many of the old guys don’t even wash their hands after going to the bog, many ole guys

Used to go in for a coffee in the morning if getting off train at central before heading into work if I had time to kill

Like u his treatment of staff has meant I will go elsewhere now, plenty of wee coffee shops in Glasgow now

PCS-BT- I hope that was his Ratners moment, I think he’s a big Tory donor,he will be wanting his money’s worth now.

  25. SEAN THORNTON

Yes, our oldest grandaughter stayed with us every weekend also. It’s a shame not having her here, but better to be safe than sorry, por cierto.

  26. How important in the great scheme of things is Pubs? I would say they should be the last things to open along with bookies. So there! :)) por cierto.

  27. Re- Witherspoons. I sincerely hope most folk give them a bodyswerve, but we are creatures of habit and, I believe they are one of the cheapest, is that right? , por cierto.

  28. Again abouth Wetherspoons. I bet you he will re interview all his staff with much reduced terms to start back, it is the way of the Blue Rosetted Tories, is it not? por cierto.

  29. Listened to Sportsound yesterday whilst on bike through heated driveway land back to EK. English was all over the place, Deans (ex Hearts guy) had to get a dig in at Hibs despite a crisis unfolding before his very eyes. Trying to change the narrative to governance which was never part of EGM request anyway as far as I recall. Only sensible one was Michael Stewart despite his obvious Hearts bias, speaking of solidarity payments to likes of Hearts, Partick and Stranraer, which is plausible though where that comes from is obviously the big issue and how much each get. Easier to give money as compensation to clubs that haven’t spent way beyond their means, i.e. Hearts.

  30. A big problem with Hearts was the managers they hired and choosing Levein as the D.of F. who in turn signed some awful players. At the outset they should have moved Heaven and Earth to get Tommy Wright and forgone the D.of F. idea, por cierto
