Yesterday’s SPFL EGM resolution was rejected, as expected. Those still hurting about relegation, or missing out on promotion, voted in favour. Some historical allegiances stood firm. My maternal grandfather took me to my first Celtic game. He died when I was four, so memories are few, but for some reason I remember him going on about Falkirk and Airdrie. 49 years ago but some allegiances survive through generations and liquidations.
Aberdeen’s new chairman Dave Cormack tried a power play. In December, his predecessor Stewart Milne, publicly expressed concerns that Celtic’s chief executive, Peter Lawwell, “has too much power in Scottish football”, which translates into ‘more clubs listen to Peter Lawwell than me and I would like to change that.”
The whole world would like to be taken more seriously than Peter Lawwell, but overtly campaigning for this is counter-productive. Each club in the SPFL has a single vote among 41 others. Celtic are not represented on the board. Whatever authority Peter Lawwell has, is earned through respect for his actions – and even then, decisions do not always go his way, no matter what paranoid loons tell you. Milne never attained the levels he aspired to and Cormack has made an uninspiring start. If other clubs listen when Peter Lawwell speaks, maybe Stewart Milne should have wondered why?
The vote went against Newco, Hearts, Falkirk, Airdrie, a few like-minded types and those who for various reasons missed out. Regime change was and remains the objective of some. Churchill would call this the Phoney War, to determine who has their hands on the levers of power ahead of the really important campaigns ahead.
Forget about “trust issues”, reconstruction and legal action; the spectre of insolvency looms across Scotland. Every club needs to sell their usual quantity of season tickets, cut costs and find reserves from somewhere – including Celtic. Those who do, have a chance of getting through this, but the numbers just don’t add up for most.
Many in the industry will lose their jobs this summer, including hundreds of footballers. What then will we hear from Cormack, Budge, Park, Lawwell? Those with influence will determine what football looks like in the future and there will be many battles ahead. Everything is at stake.

Call me Gerry
Jobo has a cunning wee move that involves deactivating Flash player on this site in our browser, or something or another. Ask him if he’s about.
Tom English : do you have any self respect left?
When you look in the mirror, do you ever say to yourself,
“People used to look at me with respect, listen to what I have to say. Now I am just a laughing stock.
Only the Sevconians listen now and I know they hate me too. How low have I sunk?”
Just got a call from my mate;
“If the pubs don’t open soon, we’ll all be alcoholics !”
Call me gerry
I use the ‘brave’ block ad browser, does the trick although miss the Russian ladies ads😢

Call me Gerry, in chrome, click on the three dots top right. Choose settings, then site settings, leave java script on but add an exception for cqn using full address I.e. http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk.
Or switch java off entirely but that impacts other sites too.
Call me Gerry 1:44
I used Duckduckgo and had some improvement, it removed some of the adds but not all.
Yesterday someone posted instruction to enable deactivation of JavaScript for CQN only.
It worked , no adverts now appearing for me .
Hope it helps
( can’t remember who posted the idiots guide, but this idiot is very, very grateful)
The Onlooker
1. Top right on Chrome find the three dots and click on them.
2. Go down to settings and click on this
3. on the left hand side click on Privacy and Security
4. Under Privacy and Security section click on the wee arrow next to Site Settings
5. Go down to Javascript and click on the wee arrow to the right
6. on the BLOCK section click the ADD button and then enter http://www.celticquicknews.co.uk then click ADD
You have now blocked the javascript for this site and should no longer see adverts etc.
If it doesn’t work first time, drop the http://.
Good luck!

Bumped into the local landlord yesterday. He’s started offering cooked Sunday lunches for collection – apparently he did 103 on Sunday.
Anyway all his staff are on furlough – when he approached his chef he wasn’t interested coming back part time. He then found out that the chef and a couple of other of his employees have declared sole trader status with a delivery firm and working full time with them. Reckons he’s probably earning a grand a week with his furlough and driver payments.
Greedy did.
did = sod
Onlooker, it was myself that posted that yesterday, but i cannot take kudos for it as it was Glasgowboy’s instructions. I only tried to simplify it for others, as I hit a couple of stumbling blocks. Thanks Glasgowbhoy.
whether by luck or planning, we are fortunate to have cash in the bank right now.
as Frank Sinatra might say:-
Maybe I should have saved those leftover dreams
Funny but here’s that rainy day
Here’s that rainy day they told me about
And I laughed at the thought
That it might turn out this way
Where is that worn out wish that I threw aside
After it brought my love so near
Funny how love becomes a cold rainy day
Funny that rainy day is here
NEUSTADT
I think it fits the description of a not very good fitba player.
Anyways, why spend good blog time talking about a nonentity?
I had a great day/night with my family, a bottle of Celtic honey
swallowed in minutes, and my wee grandaughter stuck to me
like a limpet.
All it needed was the rebs on.
And there we go.

Why is this site so difficult to use?
It’s surely not just an unfortunate happenstance.
What is going on behind the curtain to make it thus?
Bigjock67, cheers, I’ve tidied it up to make it easier and kept a copy this time so I don’t have to type it from scratch again!
Ernie, the JavaScript trick works for me, worth a try? I found duck duck go works well on iOS too

As Pedro the boatbuilder would say, you sh@g one 🐑 😉
As I recall the owners of Aberdeen wanted Sevco straight in to the top-flight, but their fans kicked up a fuss so they reluctantly backed down.
Thereafter, their Chairman ‘move along’ Milne suggested everyone, er, ‘move along’.
Now we are to believe they are the defenders of probity and good governance.
It’s all about the money for them. They need the Orcs to come and wreck their stadium a couple of times a season.
Their supporters need to face that sad reality.
When it comes down to it, the Sheepul need the Peepul.

does anyone know how Dons fans feel about their club’s vote?
……………………
Coincidentally, I’m just off one of their sites. They didn’t mention their club’s vote but heaped scorn on Park and Sevco. A number of them said that Sevco had no chance of catching Celtic and that their motivation was to stop Celtic winning 10 in a row, of which they had no chance.
Hibs.net pouring scorn on Tom English, mainly for supporting Ann Budge and Hearts. Don’t mention Celtic.
