SPL could learn from Irish FA. SFA could learn from everyone

207

Before the SPL launch headlong into the process of ensuring Financial Fair Play they would do well to look over the water at the Irish Football Association (we’ll leave aside the fact that it’s the Irish FA who are on top of this situation there, but the league who are looking to tighten things up here, as the SFA await the next Any Other Business moment on a scheduled meeting).

Each month, every IFA club are required to complete a form which details information on whether wages, PAYE, NI and VAT have been paid.  It also asks if historic HMRC repayment plans have been maintained, whether lenders have indicated they will remove or not renew borrowing facilities and several other questions designed to flush out future problems.  Clubs, which are largely part-time with volunteer administrators, are also required to submit audited accounts.

Importantly, clubs must also authorise the IFA to inquire directly to HMRC to confirm details on the form are submitted accurately.

This single form, with authority to speak to HMRC, would have prevented Craig Whyte’s ‘business model’ from getting off the ground.

While the SPL should be applauded for tackling this issue their action must embarrass the moribund SFA.  Embarrassment might reach further heights when the SPL call SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, to give evidence into their inquiry into Rangers’ alleged double contract practice.

I hope Murray discredits King at every turn, its one battle I want dodgy Dave MK1 to win.

How you can have the gall to make such a statement when you’ve spent years defrauding a third world country is beyond me.

    THAT’S WHY THEIR CALLED HUNS!

  2. Dave King’s Statement sounds very much like a statement you would expect from Craig Whyte and or David Murray.

Cloud the issue with innuendo, make unfounded allegations against certain individuals, threaten to sue them, laud and applaud other certain individuals, make sure there is a prize at the end of it all, and something to hold on to, No Titles Stripped.

I hereby declare that Jack Irvine now has a New Client

It’s using the smoking mirrors to evade the crucial points that they must keep from making the headlines and therefore the debate amongst us all.

2 CONTRACTS, are what they are trying to hide away from, It wisny me, it was them….

    …por cierto.

    Re; the cip final tickets.

Celtic are taking a “waiting list” at the ticket office which suggests they expect some to be reallocated to us.

    Here’s hoping.

Soon they will need to change that big 54 number in their Ibrox stand to a big fat 0

Sorry to disappoint you, TDB, but His Eminence/Majesty/King/Prince/Sir Walter has stated this morning that their titles shall never be tainted, due to them being the people, or something of that ilk. So there you have it. If Walter has the best interests of his ex team (see what ah did there) at heart, why doesn`t he just tell HMRC (and any other pesky creditors) to go away? Everyone listens to him, don`t they?

  5. Dave King, another tax dodger, you couldn’t make it up.

    Sir Minty very quiet?

Killie should have been selling their tickets section by section so A5/6 should be next to the Celtic support. There doesn’t appear to be much enthusiasm from Kilmarnock fans for the final so them having some of the South Stand and about half the Rangers end would be about right I reckon.

Guys The A5/6 is smack in the middle of the FoD end.

The ‘wee’ clubs do this all the time , that way they can return unsold tickets to SFL ( SFA for Scottish Cup) that can not be used by us.

They dont want us to create an even louder roar all around the stadium.

  7. Could one of our masters of clevercloggery and hunguffery help me out with Dave Kings statement re: £20M,

Now my understaunin’ (haven’t double checked recently

A South African Judge described Mr King in terms that made the Scottish Judges comments on C Whyte seem glowing.

The upshot of these cases meant that all assets of D King worldwide were siezed by the SARs, up to incuding the RFC shares.

Next point is that he didn’t say he was going to sue SDM he has & I hope to be corrected here put in a claim for £20M to RFC, basically saying these shares a bought twelve years ago weren’t worth it, here have your shares back RFCIA & give my money back.

This is IMHO is a ruse to put in a claim to D&P to make him a major creditor and a player in the winding-up. D&P should bat this away with haste but as has bee pointed oot this Admin process is all rather odd.

Paul Murry on talksport just before 11,suprised at Kings statement as he is China on buisness at out the loop with the latest developments. Murry thinks it’s will be a cva way out for rangers and the blue knights are putting there bid in for the 16/03/2012. Thinks Whytie will b stripped of ownership as unfit person.

  11. King has contacted the SFA over his potential role as a “fit & proper person”?

That is just staggering…does no one at the SFA read newspapers?

  12. tommytwiststommyturns on

savo01 – that’s what I would like to see, make those tainted titles null and void. To be written into the history books to show a shameful period for Scottish football when cheating by a certain former league club was tolerated.

They might come back as a Newco, but the cheating should never be forgotten.

  13. Joe, can you give me a single instance of even one Lisbon Lion ever talking about Celtic in the contemptible way Nicholas, Walker, Provan or McLeod ply their trade?

So much misunderstanding flying about over this ….

The SFA has no role in over-turning Craig Whyte’s ownership of Rangers. They can assure he does not sit on the board, but this guy OWNS THE CLUB … Paul Murray and Co can say and do whatever they want …. They are going to HAVE to deal with Craig Thomas Whyte, and offer him hard cash.

That’s the reality of this, and that can’t be changed by wishful thinking.

  18. I'm Neil Lennon (tamrabam) on

thanks james, i wouldnt want them to squirm out of this, by walking away, its just as well they dont do that eh.. hmmm..

  19. Murray, Whyte and King, “We don’t pay no stinkin’ tax” (allegedly).

    All fine stand-up guys.

  20. In view of my own well-publicised and acrimonious legal disputes with the authorities in South Africa …

Quote : “We saw King testify in chief and in cross-examination for four days and are unanimous in finding that he is a mendacious witness whose evidence should not be accepted on any issue unless it is supported by documents or other objective evidence. It was remarkable that King showed no sign of embarrassment or any emotion when he conceded that he had lied to the Commissioner in a number of his income tax returns. In our assessment he is a glib and shameless liar….”

Its interesting to see Smith make his play late in the game is this because so far no mud has stuck to his dignified cardigan. His hand was forced because inquiring eyes and ears were wondering why he was so quiet.

Smith must have been aware of the EBT.s. He was there long enough to hear “the gossip” he is another person who needs a microphone stuck under his chin and asked the question were you aware of 2 contracts….?

As for their tainted titles no 54 this will soon have a X through it until they have the dignity to replace this number with something else more suitable

And there is no number more suitable than a big fat 0 for cheats

Of course they can’t. Only a court of law can do that, and this guy has not, I repeat NOT, committed a crime of any kind.

To get rid of him, someone has to pay him. It’s that simple.

  24. I seem to remember someone ( Craig Whyte ,I think ) saying that the previous rangers board had used ticketus in the past to raise funds .

How can this be so , if DK is now saying he believes Minty knew nothing about raising more funds via ticketus.

    I smell bull****

  25. No man- and i mean no man- can wear a cardigan with the dignity of Walter…when he speaks all of Scotland listen like the acolytes at the foot of the Oracle at Delphi…this is not just panygeric hyperbole…its a FACT…speak more O great sage of the ultrasoft biege cardigan…

  26. No wonder no one at Ibrox had no idea what is going on. The directors can only communicate in statements of 1000 words or more. It must have been so tiresome after a while that they just stopped bothering to read each other’s statements. Why didn’t David King just say:

“Rangers is a wonderful and dignified club that I want to be involved in for ever and ever and ever.

HMRC are great and hopefully won’t investigate my tax concerns.

My recommended next step for Rangers is to liquidate and phoenix in order to stiff HMRC and all the other creditors, carrying on in our traditional dignified manner thereafter with nary a care in the world.

I am not fit and proper.

    We Are The People.
