SPL makes more concessions to Sevco

291

Channel 4’s Alex Thomson’s source at the SPL yesterday confirmed that the league will not proceed with their hearing into Rangers illegal registration of players until Sevco agrees to be bound by its findings.  This is curious as Item 12 (Sanctions) from the SFA’s ‘List of items required to accompany application for transfer of full membership’ from Rangers to Sevco, an application which Sevco have already made, obliged Sevco to agreed to be bound by these findings.

The relevant part of the transfer application reads:

“Confirmation that Sevco will accept such sanctions as are proposed by the Scottish FA in relation to current proceedings.

Confirmation re EBT sanction position at SPL level and subsequent appeal to Scottish FA.

Confirmation that Sevco will accept responsibility for any breach of the Articles etc by Oldco which has not so far come to light.”

If Sevco have not accepted the terms of the SFA membership application there seems little point putting Scottish Football League clubs through such dramas this week. An alternative explanation is that Sevco have completed their application in full but the SPL have no plausible excuse for delaying tier investigation into illegal registration of players, so have used an implausible excuse.

Neither explanation is tenable. Things are not going to plan for the national bodies.

I’ve asked this before. I don’t think THEMS will be playing in any league this season, if so, which league will THEMS be “shoehorned” into season 13/14 ?

aye the only downside of them not playing in season 12-13 is that we’ll have a full year of MSM stories about which division should they be in season 13-14.

I see the Celtic View will publish articles celebrating milestones in our 125 year history.

I don’t think they’ll have an article on the worst 10 fullbacks that ever wore the HOOPS.

I bet all you guys slagged Charlie Mulgrew before he became the great player and Celtic Idol he now is.

    Shame on you!

  9. All this ‘Worst Player to wear the hoops’ does my mapper in.

Only 2 players to my mind did not deserve to wear the hoops:-

    Mo Johnstone and Craig Burley.

The rest were given the opportunity by managers of Celtic, gave 100% effort in the main as far as I am concerned, and deserve our support rather than being made fun of or slighted by us. Ok. Some may not have lived up to the expectations we put on them or our hopes but they gave it a go.

now that sevco own steptoe’s yard, moses park and the car park, D&P must have completed the accounts for last year and these have been signed off by the auditor and passed to the relevant authorities…whaddayamean ‘no’!?

  14. No idea why they are going ahead with the panto meeting on Friday 13th.

It is blatantly obvious that SS fc will tell everyone what division they will play in and what sanctions they will accept. Otherwise they will simply buy Cowdenbeath and rebrand them – no sanctions / no votes / no baggage / no problems with accounts / new players.

The only ones that will moan will be the Blue Brazil fans….but they will get the right to host the U20s maybe if they have enough

It has crossed my mind that the only remaining explanation for Doncaster & Regan’s mysterious decision making is that they have been seriously undermined by ‘the forces of darkness’.

In what way I have no idea, but something weird is definitely going on. How else is all this is explained? Subversion of rules, blatant preferential treatment of one club, lies, obfuscation, threats, contempt for everyone except the favoured ones. This is deviant behaviour, especially as we are being told they have impartiality as their touchstone. Really?

Funny handshakes don’t begin to cover the scale of their mendacity.

Ogilvie we know about, but Regan & Doncaster? What, exactly,is going on here? They need to come clean. It would do them good. And if it takes a court case to force their hands, then so be it.

  19. Burley is a funny one because a bigger numbty does not exist in the MSM/press right now, and that is saying something, but he did always give me the impression he tried his heart out on the park. Very professional when you now realise his dislike for Celtic..

    Funny indeed.

  21. Another Celtic??

It seems that Gilford park from the Northern League in england have renamed themselves Celtic Nation FC. (!)

They are playing pre-season games against Annan, QoS and carlisle Utd – so they must ne a reasonably serious outfit. I will certainly be looking out for their scores with a name like that.

my guess, selective leaks prepare the ground for the ultimate bad news – if that is- you have previously had any financial or emotional investment in the club previously playing at the spare ground.
