SPL stalemate leaves bare truth narrative for Rangers

643

A stalemate was one of the more positive possible outcomes from today’s SPL meeting.  Such are the layers of intimidation which have been levelled across a spectrum of football clubs, bodies and individuals in the last week, it was difficult to imagine SPL chairmen standing up for sporting integrity after Sandy Jardine’s ominous words.

Unfortunately, for the Magnificent Duff and Phelps, they will have to shred plans to blame someone else for the shambles they are, kind of, administering.  Their creative talents will be taxed to the limit to explain for another two weeks why it is in creditors interests to consume available monies while Craig Whyte has not moved an inch in 10 weeks on demands for his shares of stadium security.

The narrative of this story is also important.  Angry Ally could have blamed the SPL chairmen for Rangers imminent descent into oblivion, and demanded to know where they live, but this would have been a corruption of the truth.  Rangers will not die because of the SPL or SFA but because their own misdeeds of the last 20 years are about to catch up with them.

This will be their final narrative.  Be angry at those who administered and profited from the EBTs, no one else.

Dr. Gregory Ioannidis, * Legal Counsel, Senior Lecturer in Sports Law, FA Registered Lawyer, Middle Temple, London has been tweeting this ” My colleagues from Scotland just informed me that a decision has been taken for the liquidation of Rangers. I believe them”

Hope it’s true this time, getting a tad weary of the not crossed bhuns.

    Bit late catching up.

Perhaps as far as Craigie is concerned Duff and Phelps are doing a good job. The longer the story runs, the more desperate others will become to get him and his shares onside.

Maybe their mob took the view that since they won’t be back at CP for a very long time (ever?), they should get some extra damage done.

D&P: we’re just updating you on where the club is going.

If SFA/SFL agree not put any more sanctions on the club then the Blue Knights will put in a bid conditional on Craig Whyte giving up any rights to ownership, Ticketus gettin tae eff out of it and Bill miller giving them the cash to appeal the transfer embargo.

If HMRC stop their nonsense about EBT’, PAYE, NI and image rights and promise to stop trying to take the club’s money then Bill Miller will buy the pie stall, employ the players to sell the pies, and when everyone’s got fed up waiting for oor money then it’ll be ‘business as usual’.

In the meantime we’ve got enough money for a scratchcard.

The whole thing is farcical. It really is the most inglorious demise of high-profile company ever.

It’s death by a thousand cuts. But it seems fitting that such a poisonous club should suffer such a public humiliation.

And when they are liquidated the farce will continue, but the revelations of the whole murky affair will emerge as well. Certain individuals are probably having sleepless nights at the moment.

  13. Really nice of someone to reward Tony Watt with an appearance on 89 minutes yesterday after his performance last week………….the boy deserved at least the last half hour

I would have liked to have seen all the changes made slightly earlier as well as the game was a bit scrappy for long spells in the 2nd half. Giving McCourt 5mins and Watt 2mins would be considered a pointless exerise by some but thinking about it now they would be two players who would have been prime targets for their cluggers so lets not bash Lenny too much for this…we did win 3-0 after all:)

I had a quick chat with NFL last night and he says when he lifts the league trophy he’s taking it straight over to the Green Brigade. He’s also not sure about FF signing so we can debate about a new goalie. Bring back THG!

  18. Go back for Westwood, far better than Gordon, younger and fitter.Doesnt matter that MON,picks Gordon ahead of him,we all know Martins record on signing goalkeepers.

mickbhoy1888- A tad harsh IMO,I also wanted Watt,McGeouch and Paddy on earlier but we didn’t have a failure in the team,so was difficult to sub anyone.I think these bhoys and Ibrahim will get decent game time in the next couple of weeks.HH.

I read that Gordon is on £2.36 mil a year, about 46k a week,he must realise with his recent injuries nobody will offer him anywhere near that again.I would definitely take him if the terms were right and after a stringent medical. If FF was staying ,I think he would have committed before now.
