SPL stalemate leaves bare truth narrative for Rangers

643

A stalemate was one of the more positive possible outcomes from today’s SPL meeting.  Such are the layers of intimidation which have been levelled across a spectrum of football clubs, bodies and individuals in the last week, it was difficult to imagine SPL chairmen standing up for sporting integrity after Sandy Jardine’s ominous words.

Unfortunately, for the Magnificent Duff and Phelps, they will have to shred plans to blame someone else for the shambles they are, kind of, administering.  Their creative talents will be taxed to the limit to explain for another two weeks why it is in creditors interests to consume available monies while Craig Whyte has not moved an inch in 10 weeks on demands for his shares of stadium security.

The narrative of this story is also important.  Angry Ally could have blamed the SPL chairmen for Rangers imminent descent into oblivion, and demanded to know where they live, but this would have been a corruption of the truth.  Rangers will not die because of the SPL or SFA but because their own misdeeds of the last 20 years are about to catch up with them.

This will be their final narrative.  Be angry at those who administered and profited from the EBTs, no one else.

Re. ‘The Bouncy’. I can tell you that Celtic supporters bounced up and down to their songs – mainly We Shall Not Be Moved in the late 60s and early 70s. I well remember doing it and not for the first time either at the Davie Hay game when we beat RFC 3-1 in the Scottish Cup QF at Celtic Park. We never sang bouncy, bouncy but did the excat same bouncing to our songs and, as usual, we were the first supporters to do so.

St Mary’s primary school playground, Greenock, mid 80’s.

The bouncy was one of the repertoire that the day’s champions took part in. We copied it from the parkhead terraces.

For someone to accuse Celtic fans of gloating over a sectarian murder or a tragedy on the scale of hillsborough then that person needs to GTF!

Do any of our older supporters remember the days in the 60s and 70s when the entire Celtic support whistled songs such as Hail! Hail! and the Soldiers Song to wind up our blue clad visitors when we were giving them a tanking?

You’re like the dark cloud that ensures rain when everybody at the party is intent on celebrating.

  9. Was a Jungleman myself for many years from the late 60’s onwards and cannot recall any bouncy stuff at all. Rolling about in Lanliq and urine yes -but no bouncy.

  10. as an aside, the first time i remember doing “ha-ha, ha-ha, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha” was in about april 87? in the two penalties game at celtic park, after owen archdeacon scored that third goal against them…

so it’s hardly time for it to be controversial surely?

  12. I recall a Hun game at Hampden in the early 70’s when Greig scored at the Celtic end near the end of the game when we were 3 up and with the hun end deserted and we all cheered his goal . tTo be fair he burst out laughing and started waving to the Celtic end

I remember it giving it ‘laldy’ with that on the St Patricks day massacre when they had 3 players sent off. Its fairly old hat and they had to expect it yesterday all things considered. Sweet.

They all have that vacant look about them.

The last time there were so many zombies in one place at the same time was during the filming for the Thriller video.

  16. Say what you like about Kris Commons and Gary Hooper, but they have both absolutely earned the sobriquet ‘hunskelper’ by virtue of dishing out skelpings, in season and out of season, to the team formerly known as Rangers.

    Well played, bhoys.

Wow the line up for Britains Next Top Model is a let down this year.

Kudos for the guy with the specs above the plastic hardman with the scarf over his gub. He must have known he was risking a doing by having such red hair.

Phil Mitchell is also in there. Can you spot him?

Watched game today, as couldn’t make game on Sunday. Great to see Izzy back playing well. Three at the back gave him the room to show his attacking talents. I hope he finishes the season strongly, and really kicks on again next

    season.

  20. Spotted Phil Mitchell as well. An ugly Phil Mitchell.

That’s one for the front of the fire.

But look closely and that guy is a zombie he even has a zombie arm.

An ugly Phil Mitchell is a concept that may cause the universe to turn itself inside out.

In other news I have just discovered that the concept of karma may not be the wooly headed load of nonsense I had previously thought it was. An uberhun I used to work with has donated £1k to the fighting Fu(n)d. I really, really shouldn’t laugh. But I did.

Paul67 Please tell me the board are onto the police about what I am going to rant about?

Absolutely raging. They are scum. Just watched a 10min destruction of the toilets at the game yesterday by their ‘fans’. In the middle of it all police officers doing hee haw!! What are we, yes we as shareholders & taxpayers, paying this lot for? They stand by and watch them wrecking the toilets, then at the end ‘the cameraman’ casually walks out and there are droves of cops outside the toilets doing, yes you guessed it, hee haw.

Oh and another thing, someone put a tweet up earlier saying that Alex Thomson did not find their songs offensive in the said videos online. Is that correct Mr Channel 4 reporter of the year, well I’m sorry pal, they are totally disgusting & offensive, especially their wee song about Tommy Burns.

Now take a deep breath and calmly go downstairs and continue to make dinner…

  26. Finally feel able to post today.

I am totally frazzled after yesterday.

    What a day!

Made a mess of the time and ended up at the stadium 2 hours before kick off.

However, I met PL and had a wee chat.

I met Alex Thomson and had a big chat. Nice guy from the time i spent talking to him.
