Dundee were humiliated 0-6 at home to Hearts on Saturday, a result which saw the Tynecastle club move to within a point of the top six, and leaves Dundee just above the relegation playoff spot. They are in trouble, despite two derby wins (Dundee United and St Johnstone) and two draws (Celtic and Newco) in their last four games.
That form is incongruous, but what we know is that they will arrive at Celtic Park fighting for their pay packet next season, with a justifiable sense they can get at us.
Tonight’s game against Dundee is the first of four consecutive home matches for Celtic, with Raith in the Scottish Cup on Saturday, Bayern Munich on Wednesday and Dundee United the following weekend. The domestic games all look straightforward and should see us progress towards silverware at the end of the season.
Brendan Rodgers’ principle job will be to maintain energy levels in the squad. Daizen Maeda can be expected to play all 90 minutes as he will sit out the Bayern game in a week’s time. With Jota expected to play an important role against Harry Kene’s club, this will be his final chance to build up match fitness before the Champions League game.
Hearts eased through the game on Saturday by scoring twice early on. Dundee heads dropped and Neil Critchley was able to guide his side through the afternoon. An equally bright start from Celtic tonight would be welcome.

Happy game day Wednesday!
You had me worried for a moment- the Bayern game is on Wednesday 👍
We’ve a healthy squad, rotation this winter has led to far less injuries. By the end of the month, we’ll likely be down to one game a week – usually we’ll kick on when the fixture list is thinned out.
I expect a strong end to the season.
Just looked at the fixture list – do we play the huns immediately after an international break?
jota on the wing
for real
Looking forward to the match tonight.
Looks like it might be my last one for a while so hoping Celtic put on the style, get a good win, avoid injuries and start to wipe away some of the negativity from the transfer window.
Pre match routine in work is usually the press conferences and then some Celtic vlogs in the background but even 20 minute tims is depressing so back to the tunes for me.
So, double-figures points ahead of Across The City FC and we don’t strengthen….. Nobody could have seen that one coming!
Should be a fairly straightforward win tonight if we are anywhere near our best.

Hoping we draw them at CP in the cup.

Big Jimmy, game is on PPV tonight
……………
Cheers mate, but I had already booked the game on Celtic TV PPV yesterday.
HH.
What’s been less-discussed of late is Greg Taylor’s situ…
He didn’t transfer out to Zagreb or the MLS (YAY) and hasn’t yet signed a contract (as far as I’ve read). Hmmm.
So does that indicate he’s staying as KT’s alternate summer onwards ?
Or can he just do one anytime he fancies as his contract winds down?

B78 – hope all’s going well with you.
That’s good news – I saw the gap in the fixture list I use and assumed it was an international break, which can adversely impact our rhythm.
BOURNESOUPRECIPE.
The Palace fans have that song for Jeff Schluup….
Might upset him giving it to another player lol.
Brendan has twice said that KT will be a Celtic player in the summer – I’m a bit worried by the lack of words like – signed and pre-contract.
I hope after the Eddie Howe affair that we’ve learned not to rely on a gentleman’s handshake.
I think Scotland have 4 international games between now and the summer. Two in March against Greece and two in early June.
It is possible that they will be the only games KT plays between now and our preseason fixtures. Clarke certainly won’t leave him out if he is fit.

Management of external shareholder/stake-holder expectations is very important.
Under-promise and over-deliver is usually a wise strategy.
Our manager would do well to remember that.
A lot of panic on here regards not the required signings in some fans eyes . 10-13 point lead 13 games to go . league cup in the cabinet . Only the Scottish cup to go for another treble so not much to grumble about , we have more than enough to manage that .
Just wish fans would leave off Brendan how lucky are we to have him . If we don’t gear up for the CL qualifiers then we WILL have something to grumble about , until then enjoy what is before us this season .HH

I wouldn’t mind seeing GT stay, if his staying fits into the budget/squad needs for the manager – and assuming JS does not come in, prove to be a better option and wants to stay longer in the meanwhile.
Sounds like we knew KT coming back was no go from Arsenal’s end so JS as cover makes sense in case Taylor starts playing safe (50-50s) or being distracted with having no security in a contract for next season, assuming he does have nothing lined up/sorted already. It could already be done and he and his next club could be just sitting on the news to save him (additional) grief whilst he runs his contract down?
Hoping to see JS get some minutes tonight or against Raith.

“Brendan has twice said that KT will be a Celtic player in the summer – I’m a bit worried by the lack of words like – signed and pre-contract.”
Me too. Do we normally announce pre-contract signings at the time on the web site / twitter etc. or only when they actually start employment? If KT has given his word, and BR has effectively made that public statement, I don’t think he would do a Howe or a MoJo but you never know.
Was in Parkhead earlier. Seems there is a problem on London Road east bound. Caused quite a problem on the Gallowgate at Parkhead Cross.
kvistgaarden is a player alright ,if he is still available in the summer it would be a great buy for us , seeing the rags backpage headlines who is this wonder kid the hxxx have signed seems all of Europe have been sleeping here .

Very Good B 👏👏👏😀
I’m looking forward to going tonight .
Decent weather for a game .
Mentioning the traffic problems on London road .
Road was closed at the junction outside ticket office last Friday .
Not sure if it’s reopened, hopefully it has or it will cause major traffic problems this evening.

not strictly the case,
investors and their advisors/analysts like predictability, they operate thier financial outcomes on a range of forecasts that are likely to happen. and therefor can be planned.
they dont like suprises, and even good news from a profits point of view, such as the unexpected sale of abada, need to be reported as an exceptional event.
CL monies this season xould be planned for, and a range of outcomes for the half year and year end given to investors.
with this is mind, brendand did not under promise or over deliver.
he said i would like this thing to happen, but it might not.
as an aside, man city spend a lot of money again, no one else did.
on purely financials, i would suggest the investors are ok that celtic didnt spend money yet, but will be expecting something in the summer that impacts cl qualification play off round, that is the one big ticket item for the future.
i am actually quite content with where we are right now,
lets see.
Wrap up well, a cold wind now
Again
Paul….
In your other article today, you talk about Kvistgaarden, and the fact that Brondby rejected the offers received, as they didn’t meet their valuation.
Now, IF Celtic had a bid rejected, that would hardly be Brendan’s fault. He identifies the player, others decide how much to bid, and carry out any negotiations.
On and off the field, it is a team game.
Support the team.
Cheers,
Weeron

I know it is a midweek rearranged hastily plugged in fixture, but my whatsapp is full of seat offers from card holders who are not attending, several for the affordability of the munich game.
if ever a ticket exchange scheme could have been helpful it is tonight
if ever celtic could have promoted the game better regarding callum special moment and the return of jota, well that is tonight.
4 home games in a row, many a family with be struggling
if ever celtic plc could have dipped into the cash reserves to offset munich tickets, lets say a tenner for kids, that could have been a massive thank you.
tuppence worth.
