SQUAD UPDATE: CELTIC INJURY BLOW

0

JONNY HAYES is OUT of tomorrow’s Boxing Day visit to Paisley to take on St Mirren and is also a doubt for the derby encounter against Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side on Sunday.

The versatile Republic of Ireland star has been omitted by boss Neil Lennon as he struggles to overcome his shoulder injury.

Hayes sat out the 2-1 weekend win over Aberdeen with Boli Bolingoli taking over the left-back role.

Scotland international Greg Taylor, bought from Kilmarnock for £2.25million on transfer deadline day, is included in the provisional player pool.

There is no place for Scott Sinclair, who hasn’t featured since making his first competitive start of the season in the 2-0 loss to Cluj in Romania.

The Englishman, 30, who scored 61 goals in his first three years at the Hoops after joining from Aston Villa in a £4.5million deal in August 2016, is out of contract at the end of the campaign and will walk free unless the champions sell him in next month’s transfer window.

PROVISIONAL SQUAD: Forster, Frimpong, Bauer, Bolingoli, Taylor, Ajer, Jullien, Bitton, Brown, McGregor, Christie, Rogic, Ntcham, Forrest, Johnston, Edouard, Bayo, Griffiths, Morgan and Gordon.

* MERRY Christmas, folks! The CQN team wishes all our readers a fabulous festive occasion and a prosperous 2020 to follow. Have a good one!
