Lovely post, I had been off the blog when Weet Weet Weet has posted his terrible news, but hopefully time can heal a wee bit and the good memories soon replace the sad ones

They have represented a fair few charged under the OBA Act.

  3. It was mentioned on BBC that 24 of our games were Away games. Obviously, we have not had 39 at Home. Have we had around 15 Cup games at Hampden? Seems a lot. Or, perhaps more likely, am I missing something?

  5. AULDHEID @ 1:36 PM,

Yes, Hampden would seem their ideal solution.

Of course leaving Ibrox would cause an outcry but so far, the asinine fans have proven very supportive when lead.

When you think of the cost of repairing, refurbishing, operating and maintaining the Ibrox operation, for a Club the size of Sevco it’s totally unfeasible.

As you said in an earlier post, a business plan that is so highly dependant on substantial UEFA money and Interest free loans from Directors just to remain a going concern is delusive.

Where the substantial CapEx comes from to maintain the current requirements of the Club is not even broached.

    Hail Hail

  7. Right i am starting the begging early,

anyone have any spares for the Anderlecht game,

looking for 2,dont need to be together

  8. Watching Everton there and when they went 2 down I thought this is like watching the Celtic in the early 60s, bang they pull 1 back, then another and I’m doing a Charlie Nick thinking it really is.

Next up they go ahead with a penalty only tae almost lose the lead through another late penalty. At the end they’re all singing that oul Belfast Celtic song about a grand old team to play for including Maggie Clegg’s son lol. Aye just like we did during the years in the wilderness.

Some of you oul hauns will recall a game up at Tannadice where we were 5-1 up just after the half time kick off only for the Arabs tae pull it back to 4-5 with only 9 minutes tae go. We managed tae hang on for the full points though. BTW we had 5 internationals in defence.

A couple of months later in a cup tie against a very good Hi Hi side when after taking the lead early doors we went in 1-3 down at the interval only tae come back out raring to go and going ahead 4-3 only for them tae equalise near the death.

In typical Celtic fashion we hammered them 4-0 4 days later in the replay which had been switched tae hunden for safety reasons. “Alice” Byrne scored one of the finest goals I’ve ever seen by a hoops player that night.

Of course in true Celtic fashion then we capitulated against the Buddies in the semi after gubbin them 5-0 at Love Street 5 days earlier.

As the Bunnet once said “Being a Celtic supporter is not always easy, but it is always worthwhile.”

Always good to re read your piece on the Clydebank Blitz. I live 200 yards from Burns Street. Listening to and watching the firework display in Dalmuir Park tonight, made me think what Dalmuir was like on those two fateful nights in March 1941. Thanks for re posting today.

    HH fella, hope yer well.

I remember being in the Broomloan that day, sketchy memories.

Tommy Burns{RIP} scored into the Rangers end net, to put us 0-2 in front, then he ran up to the half way line with his arms outstretched, shouting “CELTIC” for about 40 yds, magical stuff.

    After that goal the Broomloan were chanting “Relegation” to the huns in the Govan Stand, then awe the seats started to empty, GIRFUT. Tony Donnelly 67 CSC ;

Davie Provan got injured in that game and, imho, he could have made the difference for us in the up and coming Nottingham Forest games.

    HH

In other news, who blew it for us in Seville ?

I’d say that, sadly, MO’N got it wrong. But it wulny stop me loving him.

A couple of weeks before Seville, MO’N gave us one of our greatest days, it was certainly one of mine.

MO’N was struggling to find the right tactics / formation to defeat McLeish as Rainjurs manager, for almost a year.

Then, on beachball Sunday, MO’N parked the bus at ibrokes and we won 1-2.

Right there and then, I said to my bro, we’ve found the formula to defeat a Porto team, who were shifty, but, they were nobodies mugs.

So, I thought that MO’N would have been cagey, and played the beachball Sunday tactics.

But, he didn’t and, asking the Cellic team to put in a typical, MO’N team shift, in the Seville heat, was the wrong call, imho.

Having said that, had Brendan’s Invincible’s been asked to get past the teams that, MO’N’s teams faced, during the cheating ebt years, and all of MO’N’s Euro hurdles, well they would have been found wanting, and then some……

    Anyway,…….

    ……oot.

  14. Delaney’s’ donkey 7.47 pm

Being at the final, from my position it looked more like Jackie McNamara was to blame for the goal we conceded for poor marking and not Rab Douglas.

  15. We only get tickets for league games due to the sponsorship,

i have managed to get a ticket for the sevco game from them

Why the fek is Scotland going full bhoona celebrating Guy Fawkes night?

Supposed to have happened in 1605….nought to do with the ‘union’

Might be something to do with his reply when asked why he had twelve barrels of gunpowder.

‘to blow you Scotch beggars back to your native mountains.’

  17. Kev J. 8.34.

Bang on the button about the relegation chants at that game and of course Tommy ‘s celebration

Me and mate were discussing that about an hour ago.

Two great memories from that day.

    Hail Hail

  18. HH KevJ,

    I hope you are well.

Watching some Celtic things on the olde tube.

    Brilliant Jamesie

The wee man absolutely caused mayhem against Bayern.

When we were away against Udinese, he was awesome that night too.

Europa League Final is a distinct possibility.

  19. GORDYBHOY 64- sorry mate second time today I’m trying to do things of memory, failed both times. apologies mate

  20. Gordybhoy.
