    Dedryck`s` stupidity` is another man`s `passion`.

    ===========

Passion for what? Celtic? The jersey? The people and the cause? You in hibernation during the summer?!

Nah, lets call it what it is, pure stupidity. He had a chance to avoid it and take a yellow and be available for the semi final. Stupid is as stupid does and he kept going.

    Moronic.

Morning Bhoys Aberdeen on Saturday will be another tough shift for the hoops we look like we will have to once again make player changes due to injury with the main concern being our defence and we need to take our chances not squander them.Aberdeen will have gained confidence from beating Hibs and will believe they can get the 3 points but we need the points more than them.We need to get a few breaks to go our way as our luck has been poor this season but we must be due to take more of the chances that we create starting on Saturday.H.H.

  3. For all those castigating Boysta can you name me one other player who has recieved a straight red for dissent in Scotland. Straight red. Not 2 yellows.

Maybe our bhoy thought he was only due a yellow. Ayellow like the ref forgot to give for the kick on Lustig.

  4. Hot smoke .

McLaughlin is no different to everyone else employed by the BBC, or Clyde and sadly sky and bt sport . They are all controlled by directors who hate the Celts. They have no mindset of there own , they get a script and are TOLD what to say , anyone never wonder why the real Celtic men Tom Boyd. Tosh McKinley, don’t get gigs with them , and how the supposed ex celts , walker ,nicholas , bonner et al get a stage to talk us down , just look at the recent change to mark Wilson. The sad thing about it is we can do nothing about it .

  5. I cannot believe there is hardly a mention of DBs red card in the media. A RED card for dissent? So it’s ok to kick [players off the ball or when they’re on the floor but a wee bit of lip to a ref who has allowed you to get kicked all night unpunished and you’re off? BRs calling him ‘stupid’ didnt help matters either, why not back the player up and appeal.

  6. The funeral has taken place of Belfast Celtic legend Alex Moore the last survivor of the team which beat Scotland, then British champions in 1949.The game was played in New York during a ten- match tour of America. The victory came just a day after Celtic’s resignation from the Irish league was confirmed.

    Alex Moore ( RIP )

I am not one for trashing any of our former players and within reason their private lives are there own concern.

I have nothing against Tosh McKinley, but “a real Celtic Man”

Real Celtic men don’t stick the Heid on our top scorer and legend on the eve of a crucial hun match.

  8. Two things.

I watched the game last night and I was very disappointed that the other Celtic players allowed Dedryk’s rage to develop. Could have been nipped in the bud.

Secondly, for fuck sake Brendan, back your players, not a bent hun referee who will do anything to see you and us, fail.

    Rant over.

  9. Don’t know why fholks keep on about a red card for dissent, it was obvious that Boyata said something to the referee which he considered as Foul or Abusive Language, thus a red card. He had adequate opportunity to take the yellow for dissent, and Brown, as captain, was majorly at fault for not gripping Boyata.

    Maybe passion for justice .

Should whatever happened in the summer be used to judge his behaviour last night?

In the heat of the moment , passion if you will, could he really he have considered the consequences calmly? To err is human, you know.

Yes, what happened during the summer proves he has no ‘passion’ for Celtic or the jersey.

Passion for justice is a completely different thing, so which is it?!

You are trying to defend the indefensible and throwing out all manner of implausible excuses for idiotic behavior.

To err is human and that was why he was getting a yellow. Fine. But to keep going after that…idiocy.

  12. A statement on the club’s official website read: “Former Celtic reserve player Graeme Morrison sadly passed away on Tuesday night at the age of only 41-years-old after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.

“The centre-half, who joined on an ‘s’ form in 1991, was a regular in the youth and reserve sides between signing as a professional in 1994 and leaving to join Tampere in Finland in 1999.

“During Graeme’s time with Celtic, he also went on loan to Irish club, Dundalk where he made a handful of first-team league appearances.

OK You think to behave irrationally whilst angry is unforgivable .

I think it is totally understandable.

I am at a loss to see ` all manner of implausible excuses ` that I am throwing out.

I am not excusing, simply saying that I can understand his behaviour.

    Goals are everything.

They change attitudes, they remove tensions and had we gone in 2 0 up at half time last night the garden would have been rosy again.

How fickle football can be though was shown in the last few minutes. With only a one goal lead Beaton fails to call for a foul on Boyata, who then watches Beaton delay a decision until Lustig rolls on the ground under an assault by a St J player.

If DB called Beaton a F ing cheat he would have been right and in the heat of a must win game that is understandable, but not professional.

So down to 10 men St J throw a high cross in to where Boyata would have been able to challenge, Bain runs from his goal to try and cut it out, Hendry is out jumped and the ball is headed goalwards but luck shines on us as the onrushing St J forward misses the ball and it drifts just wide.

Had that gone in how would we have fared in extra time? How would Hendry have been viewed?

The margins of success are that narrow and until we increase our conversion rate of chances into goals we are going to struggle to play with more confidence and swagger.

We might just have to get used to it but at least we made a lot more chances last night than of late.

  15. Not much of a game last night apart from a collections of wasted chances from us.

St.J were incredibly poor especially in the first half where they only played in one half of the park.

Another game where we were absolutely honking.

We have no CB problems — we just need to play SB there as this is where he always ends up.

LG — I do appreciate that God loves a trier but even he must have had his doubts. He was shocking before he got his wee break.

CMcG — He is possibly the most useless player I have ever seen for 90% of the time.

He was absolutely atrocious yesterday on top of quite a few stinkers recently.

Desperately needs dropped for someone who looks half way interested,

We started the game low in confidence and limited in application.

We tried to bore them to death rather than play any sort of direct, attacking football.

Even when we took the lead all it took was a good move from them an the fear descended.

We played as if we were running over eggshells.

All is not well — BR seems to be sending out smoke signals.

We looked over-coached and under-motivated — not a great place to be.

The balance sheet is king and everybody knows that.

Finally the away support need to get a grip.

The singing last night was straight out of the D’Oyly Carte Republican Opera Company.

We are fast becoming a music hall act for the self indulgent and the obtuse.

All that was missing was a rendition of “SS RUC” — probably tells you a lot about the average age.

Supporters you were not — bunch of wannabee Burton’s commandos more like.

Trying to look and act the part even though the 70’s called and asked for their songbook back.

Love the trade off — providing money to our opponents.

You keep Scottish football afloat so that you can spout sham militarism across the land.

All that was missing was a green poppy — 6 weeks to go though.

  16. Agree Auldheid but for me at least in the 2nd half last night we were back to creating chances.

Our best performances in games over last 2 seasons reflected around 17/18 shots on goal with around 7/8 on target and we weren’t far off that last night.

Tempo for most of 2nd half was also excellent.

I believe we cam take that into Saturday’s game.

  17. The following is not as off topic as it appears.

Refereeing could be a game changer this season more than any of the recent past.

To change the standard of referees and remove as much possibility of bias as possible the SFA itself and the culture it encourages needs changed.

This is a very interesting article on governance in sport, courtesy of the SFSA.

As you read through it you can identify where the SFA/SPFL are failing.

    https://www.globalsportsjobs.com/article/strong-culture-and-governance-make-for-sporting-organsations/?utm_source=Global%20Sports%20Jobs&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=9883289_Inside%20Track%20-%20Newsletter%20-%20COM%20-%201270918&utm_Newsletter=Newsletter&dm_i=1G6Q,5VTZT,O916CF,N0FYC,1

The question has to be what are the SFA doing to help imbed a positive culture? The Article suggests:

    ——————————————-

To help embed a positive culture, organisations should:

DECIDE: The board should determine what culture they want to define their organisation and establish the values they wish it to espouse.

EMBODY and demonstrate: The organisation’s leadership should act and be seen to act in accordance with these principles, personally and corporately, showing that they underpin all that the organisation does.

COMMUNICATE : Clearly stated and preferably memorable, the mission and values should be articulated to all who interact with the organisation, including external stakeholders. Regular and focused reporting on organisational culture will allow sports bodies to monitor their efforts, engage stakeholders and link cultural issues to strategic objectives and performance.

ENFORCE: Large-scale behavioural failures rarely come from nowhere. Policies and processes should be in place to prevent poor behaviour and when it does occur it should be dealt with robustly. Minor transgressions, if not addressed appropriately, can encourage incrementally poor behaviour.

RECRUIT: When bringing people into the organisation, attention should be paid not only to the skills they possess, but whether they suit the culture being promoted.

TRAIN: Raising awareness among employees, volunteers and board members of issues such as the value of diversity, fostering an inclusive environment or the dangers of unconscious bias are as important as technical development.

Organisations should revisit their culture periodically and not wait for crises before determining whether the one they have is the one they thought they had.

    ———————————–

The thing is do the SFA even realise or care tthat hey have to take steps to repair the damage a negative culture since 2000 has done to Scottish Football?

Where exactly do Celtic stand on this issue of governance based on their experience of the inherent bias and possibly corruption clearly observable since 2011?

If he was focused he would have been aware of the need to keep a cool head and see out the game. The rest of our team managed to not get sent off.

His irrational behaviour and lack of focus is never far from the surface and that is why he is and always will be liability in a Celtic jersey.
