  1. Rogic played well when he came on, his ability to beat the first, second and third man opened the game up for us.

Griff and Eddie not really on it today but no harm done.

  2. That moment As I awake from a drunken slumber and remember the spanish and French derby’s were on….. Doh

A good wee read back some good points well made.

    Right back to ma kip.

  3. Why does Sutton seem to dislike Jullien?

Never misses a chance to have a go at him.

After the goal he says ” look he is claiming it, saying its all about me”.

When in fact he was saying to Ryan it’s your goal.

    Cannae fathom it???

  4. What we are witnessing is nothing short of Incredible.

Celtic going for a Quadruple Treble.

Thursday was obviously very disappointing for Everyone connected to Celtic.

The Saints sensed something was on with about 20 minutes to go and had a right good go.

What awesome character by this Celtic team to get the Win. Fantastic.

    Big Nir wiz ma motm.

I reckon if we can win on Wednesday, the 9th, another Honest wan, will be secured.

  5. No team has a divine right to beat anyone.

This Celtic Team is just relentless and we should marvel at what they are daein!

    Incredible.

    Records are tumbling.

Neil is there telling Kris to get the F aff the floor. Feigning injury isnae the Celtic way.

    The Corinthian spirit epitomises Neil.

  6. An Tearmann,

I hope my assessment of BigTam is wrang.

He is the most gifted/skilled player in the squad. Although Eddie is seriously up there when it comes to close control of the ball.

Paul67 talked about a Generation of Domination, I think, you like me, don’t like that language.

    It cannae be argued now.

    Petec,

The trouble is Ajer was not feigning injury, he was carrying an injury for most of the game and refused to go down. When he did go down could have been the final straw, I was annoyed at Lenny for that incident, it was like he did not care if the player was injured he just wanted the game over.

  9. Melbourne Mick on

Hello again all you young rebels.

Agree CANMAN , think Lenny was worried the madhun would add

more extra time on, maybe stress getting to the boss.

Great day down amongst the peninsula rebels yesterday, Paddy was

in fine form although he got whisked away early before he got

    coaxed into more drink lol.

Also good to see Mooloolaba bhoy down from Queensland for a wee

visit, hope you enjoyed being amongst the faithful again Hugh.

Just watched the game there, how did that lot keep 11 on the mudheap

of a park? good result for the bhoys considering.

    H.H . Mick

  10. That’s right.

Lenny knew the whistle was ready to go from the goal kick….however he also knew that if there was an injury that ref would add 30 secs on because he could…..

Lenny does not miss a trick out there.

That’s why I love him and we are so lucky to have him watching our backs.

Besides sometime I feel that Ayer is only a good rocket up his arse away from being a hell of a player.

Some tough love from lenny will not do him any harm

  11. Billy McNeill would be celebrating his 80th birthday today

Hail Hail our greatest Captain .

  12. For those who are upset at Neil Lennon for telling young Ajer to get up…You are ALL wrong !

It was plain to see that although Kris had taken a knock, the last thing Celtic needed was the medic coming on and the Hun Ref adding on another two minutes, during which young Kris would have to have left the field of play, and therefore Celtic would be down to 10 men with MORE Injury time added !

Back in the day, I often told or witnessed an injured team mate to “Get up, as theres only a minute left etc”.

  13. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    LazyD..,

Can’t agree, as I said Ajer was really struggling for a long time. Hopefully you are right but the big ghuy looked hurt and irrespective of added time lennys first priority must be the health and wellbeing of his players.

Anyroadup, there was more likelihood of us scoring another in added time than them equalising.

  14. I am old enough to have grew up watching Celtic do NINE in a Row….Legally.

Celtic are now on the verge of doing a second NINE in a Row…Legally.

For all the years in between, I could never imagine watching Celtic doing it yet again…Legally.

I am just one of those fortunate enough to witness Celtics dominance over the Hun, with a possible QUADTreble on its way.

    Oh My Days !

Nir Bitton and Julien were magic yesterday.

    HH

  15. Phew, that result was mega yesterday.

The huns getting papped out the Scottish cup, followed by candid confessions from Stevie G.

Us getting through a very difficult tie.

All have contributed to alleviate the pain and depression of last Thursday.

HH to all the journey continues.

  16. CANAMALAR IT LOOKS LIKE OCD OBSESSION on 2ND MARCH 2020 8:14 AM

    …………..

I must disagree, Kris Ajer would NOT be the first Celtic player to be forced to play on after getting a knock…he wont be the last.

Forrest in particular and CalMac also took heavy knocks yesterday but played on.

Neil Lennon had ALREADY questioned the 4th Official about the added 5 Minutes BEFORE young Ajer took a knock, the last thing Neil and Celtic needed was to go down to 10 men with the Hun Ref ordering Ajer off the pitch if he had received treatment, and therefore finding an excuse to add on even more injury time.

If that had happened, do you honestly believe that Ref Madden would have made sure that Ajer was back on immediately and/or that Celtic would have been allowed to bring on another Sub ?

Madden the Ref, would have ensured that either Ajer or a Sub didnt get back on ignoring any Celtic’s pleas to have 11 men back on the pitch.

If the above had happened and St Johnstone score while were down to 10 men we would all be going Tonto with the Ref, likewise if we had had held on to 1-0 with only 10 men on the pitch.

  17. Good morning CQN from a happy clappy (annual leave day) Garngad and I have the house to myself. What to do Mmmmmmmm I know watch the game back on the big telly downstairs😂

I think everyone is right regarding injury’s and at end of games, but the main thing was to get that game out of the way especially on that pitch. Job done.

I am sure Lenny would have spoken to the big fella and explained to him his thinking. That the ref is a Madhun etc. etc.

Some tackles were shocking, straight reds all day long. IMO the club should be fighting the H & S issue of our players with the fraudulent SFA but….

Anyway we move onto Wednesday for another bruising encounter where the opposition will kick us and know that nothing will happen. Win this and we have a wee breather as back to 1 game a week.

    D. :)

  18. BIG JIMMY on 2ND MARCH 2020 8:29 AM

Totally agree on the Ajer thing.

If he receives treatment he has to come off and more added time would be added.

Better to get to your feet and wait for the final whistle in 30 seconds or so.

  19. 2 wins this week and it’s another nail in the coffin for the Sevco title challenge. Perhaps Steven Gerrard as well. Perhaps Sevco itself…..

They will have to win 11 games out of 11 to have a chance to win the league.

    Not likely.

  20. Gerrard’s post match comments get more jaw dropping with every read of them. I’m struggling to think of another manager who has done such an interview.

Keegan had a famous interview melt down but he directed that at Fergie. Gerrard has labelled his squad as bottlers, questioned their will to win and lambasted them for not taking full advantage of having him as their manager. He topped it off by saying he was going away to consider whether it was worth his while continuing to coach them !

Utterly bizarre, yet most media will praise him for his honesty ! The man is a clown.

  21. They needed the player……….but they goat The Coach.

They talk about the stature of the player but the qualifications and experience in the role are buried as it suits thur agenda.

The Melwood- Colts cone-carrier is a multi-millionaire ( a real one) and can afford to do one any time he likes…………….

He’ll stick around to save face (probably) but any exit will be explained away to the detriment of our game in Scotland. Scoddland’s finest will bum him up and talk of Europa exploits…………..the truth as ever with the huns will be the real loser and any mis-guided scots who have propped up that awful, crumbling facade.

  22. Beat Livi Wed & this Tim will start to relax. Go to the BigotDome at least 12 points ahead, after the BigotDome 7 games left 4 of them at Celtic Park. History beckons.

  23. One thing from yesterday that stuck out………..Wee Strach was fulsome in praise for the conduct of the game and how it was played. As usual the opposition felt entitled to boot us up an’ doon the ( ploughed) field as it suited them.

We are way past the point where the reasonable safety of our players is being disregarded…………using the SFAABC formula……….

We are reffed differently and the Club or someone who has a platform should complain. The time to do it is when we’re winnin’.

    HH

  24. There is no response to that one BhoyJoe, What about poor Liverpool.

Seriously I can’t see it, worst case, season delayed finish held over to Summer, or else games played behind closed doors or with restricted attendances.

  25. Siempre Celtic (formerly Traditionalist88) on

First time on since Copenhagen – hugely disappointing night, system and personnel wrong and left it far too late to change things. Was evident very early on we weren’t as in control of the game as we should have been against an organised but limited opponent.

Within 10 seconds of coming on Leigh was linking up with Eddy, who struggled to get a kick beforehand, and was very unfortunate not to score a few minutes later when the keeper made a great reaction save.

Would have liked to have seen Frimpong as well. Eddy and Rogic shouldnt have both played.

Far too disjointed, yet with 6 mins to go we were favourites to progress despite a lacklustre performance, which shows how fortunate Copenhagen were. Individual errors creeping in again killed off any chance we had of sneaking through.

Lets hope we learn from this, I think we have a manager who will take everything on board for future European nights.

Good to get back to winning ways yesterday.

Games will be behind closed doors. Like in Italy.

No point postponing (til when?) or cancelling.

International games will be the first affected.

    _____

    Exactly.

I’m not writing off our chances in Mordor but the important thing is to win our next two games.

Don’t rest players for either. No cup games til April.

Win these two and their margin for error closes (even if they win their next two vs Hamilton & Ross County)

Ajer is a doubt for Wednesday. We have to play him.

  29. Thought some of the players looked dead on their feet yesterday. Need to make a few changes for Wednesday to freshen things up
