  1. Big Jimmy, you are right about the referee, your average, typical disgrace of an SFA man.

Great example of his ‘management’ of the game happened earlier in the second half – wee Frimpers came off the wing, was fouled but carried on, then he headed for the D and was taken out. Our professional football referee then awarded us a free kick back where the original foul had taken place, indicating that he had played advantage in the first place. A disgraceful but obvious decision to actually deny us an advantage.

  2. Diego Laxalt,

I’m in. A brammer of a player. All-action, fast, south american gallousness and skilful as eff.

    Here’s hoping.

I thought the ref was poor yesterday. Quick to flash card at a Celt but Davidson and Witherspoon were allowed to kick everything that moved before a yellow eventually shown.

St Johnstone’s hammer throwers got away with a lot yesterday imo.

    Good morning all.

Someone asked last night who the ref was yesterday at the stadium Close Bros partly own.

    Not sure if answer provided.

It was Greg Aitken – an unabashed and unashamed blue nose from Ayrshire.

If his social media account hasn’t been scrubbed for him by the SFA it would make for interesting reading.

His clear view of Ross County’s penalty (not given) was an embarrassment.

Lurkers – just so you know, the efforts of Greggy (and others) won’t be enough.

    Not by a long way.

    Hail hail

Laxalt – sounds like a cross between a suppository and liver salts. The huns will be shitting themselves…

LAXALT SET FOR CELTIC MEDICAL AHEAD OF LOAN MOVE

Uruguay international left-back Diego Laxalt is due to arrive in London to complete a medical, before signing a season-long loan deal with Celtic.

The Scottish champions are in discussions with AC Milan over a potential option-to-buy clause being added.

  7. Siempre Celtic (formerly Traditionalist88) on

Presumably Milan won’t allow Laxalt to play against them in the Europa League?

Am I right in saying that Laxalt will be able to play against Milan in EL

    ****

    Hope you’re right!

  9. Laxalt will play. UEFA have overriden these kind of deals in the past – Coutinho scored against Barca fro BM, Bangura played against us and Courtois againsy Chelsea.

So it;s a yes based on that.

  10. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

If Laxalt signs – not sure AC Milan can block him playing.

Seem to recall a rule change a couple of years ago preventing such clauses in loan deals.

Who remembers Fernando Morientes knocking his employers out of the Champions League in 2004?

    :)

Hope this doesn’t scupper the move then… though you’d have thought it wouldnt have got off the ground at all if it was going to be an issue for Milan. Hopefully we can get it done,

Is it possible that Milan might want* Laxalt to play in defence against them?

  14. SPL 20/21 — the MIB angle / TFOD2.

Drown them in data — publicise the penalties — the numbers don’t lie.

How many penalties have the TFOD2 been awarded this season?

What was the score when they were awarded?

    Who benefitted from it?

The MIB have boundaries — no fuss and they keep on going.

Make some noise and they will stop and think.

To work this angle they will need a good memory.

Overload them with work and their mistakes will get bigger and more obvious.

SPL Teams — Total goals scored — number of penalties awarded / number of penalties scored / number not penalties.

We can even add in penalty assists for the goals scored from rebounds.

If there is a story in all of this then get it out there.

SPOT ON mate. At times Ref Walsh was a joke…and dont forget about the penalty that Celtic did NOT get, when Big Shanes Jersey was being pulled.

I havent seen it…but apparently the penalty the Huns goat yesterday was yet ANOTHER JOKE ?

Key data copied below, this is from three seasons, 17/18 season to the end of last season. sevco get a penalty on average every 411 minutes of play (roughly a penalty every 4 games), Celtic every 681 minutes (every 7.5 games), far less than Hamilton! This of course is raw data and doesn’t consider possession, chances, time spent in the opposition box, etc.

If anyone keeps an interest in Italian football then loans are very much part and parcel of how they do things.

TBB did you read the responses from Milan fans they’re keen for him to play again at us, having seen their game against Rio Alve, they’re def not at a level you’d expect, we’ve beaten better Milan teams but you never know

  25. Jamesgang posted an excellent Covid article the other day. This bit, although not soothing, strikes me as being important:

“In study after study, we see that super-spreading clusters of COVID-19 almost overwhelmingly occur in poorly ventilated, indoor environments where many people congregate over time—weddings, churches, choirs, gyms, funerals, restaurants, and such—especially when there is loud talking or singing without masks. “

  26. glendalystonsils on

I’ve never been a fan of players who wave imaginary cards at the ref when they get fouled but I’m beginning to think our players should start doing it . The ref yesterday should have produced at least 3 more yellows but our players just got up and got on with it .

  27. I seen the highlights of the sevco game Ross County made a number of chances , several of which were crosses into the box, their left back got skinned a few times by Counties right winger, they looked slow in possession in the midfield , got a penalty for Morelos running into a defender but made it look that he came across him, still a diving scum bag, and a stone wall penalty for County not given for a blatant push in the back of a County attacker as he was picking his spot to nod in, this was right in front of Aitken the referee who gave nothing, if we prepare properly and pick the right team we will gub them, they will lose discipline and try and involve our guys its what the do and the scouse ned will demand it.

  28. I don’t normally post comments about irrational phenomena like dreams but I had a very vivid dream last night that Edouard was transferred to West Ham with Robert Snodgrass being a makeweight in the transaction.

Can’t wait for the window to shut and I can put this fear to bed.

    P. S. I wonder how a Uruguayan tackle might go down with Scottish refs??
