Agree KC could do better. Stokes holding the ball up well. We do need more runs around the 18yrd box, poacher required por cierto

Charles Kickham,
Good shout.
Celtic are so one paced and Maribor coach will have noted like Legia that Celtics left is the Achilles heal. Also they can push forward as we have no striker….stokes is dreadful.
Our Director of Football Mr Lawwell will need to help our new coach in the 2nd half.

HT. 0-0 Celts doing ok, badly needing a CENTRE forward. Midfield toothless, McGregor and Forrest working hard for openings but Biton and Johansen need to stamp their authority. Defensively the full backs seem to be out of position when we’re under attack. Craig Gordon settling in fine.

This game might suit Pukki , lots of mambi pampi passes just outside the box ; Pukki might be able to get in behind !
El oh we’re not playing Maribor , your slips showing.

Poor performance so far. Not sure Maribor will be quaking in their boots. We need to up it. Problem is, we don’t have a striker.

Some of the negativity on here is hilarious! These are ‘supporters’ the team can do without. Cheerio lhads, you won’t be missed.

We urgently need a replacement for KC in my opinion. If we can’t sign one, I would rather see Henderson in the team. This team won’t trouble any side in Europe.

Biton continues to get game time, not outstanding but making progress.
We need a striker badly, no one up front to give their defenders something to think about.
This IS a lot better than the Legia game I watched.
For a start, the effort is there. Even Stokes and Commons are putting extra effort in and trying to impress the coach. Biton and Forrest have been excellent in possession and we have played a few good passes in our build up.
St. Johnstone have screened their defence well, though with Chris Millar being a standout for them.
All in all, a much better effort. Yes, I know that St. Johnstone are not as good but we are nowhere near as bad.
Baby steps.
Come on the Hoops!

Half time
Looking decent.
JF pick of the bunch for me.
Gordon looking good n secure.
Mathews. A lot of recovering to do to recover his pre injury form.
I give Stokes stick at times but more switched on tonight.
Still need a no9!
Decent pace and closing down. See a discernible shape at least!

Surely after the last couple of weeks, there has to be an element of steadying the ship tonight.
In that respect, despite the lack of penetration, that 45 minutes wasn’t completely unsatisfactory.
Wouldn’t be the first time we’ve struggled up there.

I would like yo see Jamesie taking the full back on the outside. Both he and Matthews have beaten him easily and then cut back to go inside. The real damage is done from the bye- line.

Corkcelt, agree with that, St J working hard at closing us down, and closing space.
I’ve also seen more movement in this game than a usual (last season) from K Commons.
We do need to change/improve movement up front though to give better options

An away game at St J is nearly always a tight affair. Maybe one goal will decide this. I hope it’s in our favour. We must remain patient.
Midfield toothless, they have six players in there Ffs. We have four do the maths, they’re not interested in a game.

Good passing but lack penetration, need somebody to hold ball up front to let MId f get beyond st Johnstone defence.

I have just watched Celtic trying to win and St Johnstone trying not to lose. A good contest . Not so good , of course, if you only enjoy it when Celtic is winning. That is your prerogative .
I agree with GG`s succinct assessment:
HT. 0-0
Lots of passing.
Lots of possession
Little penetration
Not so sure if GG is enjoying the contest as I am , though! In these kind of games, if the dominant side (Celtic) score, then more goals usually follow. Let`s hope so for the second half.

Sorry goalies been ok
Remove Stokes and give Berget a chance up front. At least if our wide players get down the wing there’s a target to hit in the middle.
For such a skillful and creative player, KC’s first touch is sometimes very poor.
All we are saying
Is give us a goal

That sounds suspiciously like a negative comment Tony
St.. J not here to impress, just get a point or try an steal one, Celtic to win 4-0
I’d remove KC before Stokes por cierto
Signs that KC is finding his feet again. JF is our most potent attacker. Not happy that Izzy always has to defend against two men.
We should score even if it’s by virtue of a mistake in their defence or wear them down.
Good Game
