    SA wasted on the wide left, CMcG ,SJ offering very little , central defence doing nothing to restore CG confidence, but we are 1 up .

    Wright has his mob set out well and there’s a few tims in there eager to make a name for themselves, quite rightly.

     

     

    Enough concern for us to be worried about repetitive defensive lapses tho’.

    Positives from 1st half, Craig Gordon is back to his best. Boyatta looks like he’s developing into a decent player, just needs to concentrate a bit more.

     

    Nadir Cifti took his goal well. Rojic has been ok in spells.

     

     

    Not much else to be happy about but we’re winning against an inform team on a dodgy pitch in freezing weather in December. Overall I’m happy but still 45 hard mins to go, would like Allan and Commons on for second half but don’t think Ronny will change it.

    Ronny, get the midfield sorted

     

    Rogic has been best so far in there, but we are seeing nothing from Johansen, McGregor, and is Armstrong and Forrest on the pitch ?

     

    Put Armstrong and Rogic in middle as 2, and push McGregor and Johansen further forward, or take them off and put Commons and Allan on in that position

     

    Apart from all that 1 – 0 at full time will do :-)))

    Celts doing ok. Rogic being the driving force and having a good game. We always look threatening going forward but shooglie when we’re under attack.

     

    St. J trying to make it physical, we need to avoid dropping to that level as we don’t have the players to mix it.

    Very tight and even first half. We had two good openings- they had 3 but we were the only ones to convert.

     

     

    Ronny has another bold mix out there but it has not shone so far. Armstrong and Forrest not seeing enough or not showing enough for the ball to stretch them.

     

     

    St. Johnsone are targeting the middle of our defence more than the left. Simo and Boyata have had a lot of work to do- I think they will have to step up second half.

    Sometimes the difference in quality is putting the ball in the net?

     

     

    Celtic being caught too high, when our attacks break down, and we’re lucky Saints haven’t scored because of it.

     

     

    When you play 4 4 2 against us , I expect the home side to get caught on the break in the second half.

     

     

    Celtic’s better players will dominate the scoreline, even if it’s not pretty in one of our toughest SPL games, one or two can only improve of face the inevitable Ronny hook.

    Boyata, Gordon, lustig and rogic all playing well but the rest are pretty poor

     

     

    Armstrong and johansen have so badly dropped form it’s unbelievable

  20. CultsBhoy can not relate to Celtic Board ambitions on or off the park on

    Rigid is a technically good player with no pace. I’d get Armstrong in there. He is less technically gifted but mile faster and would give us more drive.

     

    James F – unless he strings 5 games in a row playing well – he’s not for me. He has about 5 great games a season in my opinion. Simonivic and Boyata look better but a pale imitation of what we had last season. Lustig is great but he’s past it. Izzy is 2nd to Tierney.

     

    Ciftci looks very unfit and is below the standard required.

     

    I’m liking McGregor. SJ is the same guy as last season. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.

     

    Craig Gordon been good.

     

     

    All in all a very mediocre Celtic ….

     

    Get Commons and Tierney on and the team is massively improved

    First humble pie from me. Gordon & Ciftci were the 2 players I wanted dropped. Gordon has saved our bacon & Ciftci has put it in the onion sack at the other end. What do I know?.

     

    A tough venue on an icy day against a decent strong committed team. It’s all about trying to come away from here with 3 points. Nothing else matters.

    Tommy rogic almost always tried to beat an extra man .. needs to learn when to pass as he did on one occasion

     

     

    BT calling for a Jozo booking . …. for a change Sutton calls it correct. . Even a broken clock is right twice a day

    Interesting stuff from the pitchside pundits on BT.

     

     

    Two topics covered, firstly the goal which was correctly praised. Second major point was should the St J player have dived to get our Centre Half red carded. YES say the experts completely ignoring the honesty and bravery of the attacking player. The ref could have given Simonavic a deserved yellow after the fact but choose not to.

    Gordon’s individual errors are down to him ….his succession of errors in Europe have nothing to do with poor defending

    Agree to an extent – every players individual errors are down to the player himself. CG is the last line of defence – he gets plenty of action. Defence posted missing today too many times due to being halfway up the pitch.
