Bizarre Game.
No coincidence the glut of goals after Eddy and Ateji departed and acres of space suddenly opened up . I cant see any sort of partnership there. Ajeti looks like hes in the wrong movie.
We need a CF in the mould of Gary Hooper, penalty box sniffer on the shoulder. Instead we have 2 no 10s dropping deep, way to deep, to get involved to the detriment of our midfield. DT suffering particularly badly for first hour.

If KA gets injured what Centre backs do we have left to play beside Duffy? That is a worry.

If we invested in Europe, I mean, if we took Europe seriously, we could hold on to and buy decent players simply because it’s a big stage for players to be on. To attract decent players and hold on to them is impossible if our main aim is domestic dominance. Our goal MUST be good European runs. I’d take second in the league and quarter/semifinals in Europe ahead of domestic titles. It’s the ONLY way we can attract a good management team and players. What decent player would want to come here if our only goal is to stay ahead of thems?
Bada bing – tend to agree ref Broonie. Let him do his coaching badges, coach a bit, play a bit, bring the new and young guys in. Time we were also building coaching succession beyond John Kennedy. Ot is always good to have long serving staff around the firstvteam. Our history is full of that.

I know what you mean but I hope that is not a forerunner to your leaving the blog. The postive posts seem to be outnumbered by the negative ones. That makes it all the more important that people like yourself keep posting. Otherwise, CQN just becomes a platform for anger release.

All those praising Taylor – spot on. Boy can play. He is the number one LB for me. It’ll take a good buy to move him from that berth. Laxalt can play but I have decided that Taylor is better a round. Kenny is very similar on the other side. Really impressed with the fill backs lately.

Your comments would suggest you are working an angle regarding our play.
AA had a good game tonight.
He played as well as could be expected given our MF play.
He is a penalty box striker being asked to make the play rather than finish the play.
Our MF was very poor tonight.
Only TR gets pass marks for his goal and his energy — yes his energy.
DT looked lost — very poor first half and only a limited improvement in the second.
SB was very poor with the ball — most of his passing was backwards and he produced little going forward.
CMcG was having a laugh — he looked to be searching for an early bath with some of his tackling.
I thought the MF were having a laugh in the second half with all their swapping of positions and roles — I do not think NL has the imagination to think up the formations we ended up playing in the second half.
Looked very like some senior players were playing games at our and NL’s expense.
Thank heavens the StM player got caught trying to be cute with the sly tug on GT’s arm.
Gave us a breather and allowed us to play a bit of football.

Difference in this game versus recent game against Saints , we had proper defence tonight .. albeit in the grand scheme of things our defence has room for improvement…. big Kris can step forward as a Saints tried to pin us back …. need to just keep going now
