  1. 31003- totally get your point but already seen Kyogo miss similar ( 3 in one half recently). There was enough on that park to finish the chances.

MJ doesn’t have composure or cool head, everything a blast.

I just think, horses for courses and this wasn’t his

TONTINE TIM I stand corrected, I never knew that and now to your superior knowledge, in fairness I don’t think many people know that Wolves wanted him. Why didn’t he go?

*He allegedly was concerned about replacing the great Stan Cullis so went tae Bob Kelly for advice where he was offered our job, I believe he tentatively agreed but only if we brought back wee ten thirty which was hard on Bob as he originally punted him due tae his temperament,

  3. I was a jungle boy between ‘68-‘78ish

I never found it an over friendly place

Abiding memories were gang fights on occasions. Seen a few stabbing sand slashing between rival gangs….even though we were all there to watch Celtic. Celtic park was definitely known as Parkheid in those days

  4. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Absolutely gutted at full time so stayed away from the blog.

Reading back two things spring to mind

    1. That was the right decision

    2. Others should (respectfully) have done the same

    Disappointment evident and understandable.

But some posts tonight were bordering on nasty.

Lashing out at all and sundry.

An already unbalanced squad is down to the bones.

    Net result.

Celtic finally played a game in December and didn’t win.

    Get over it.

  5. BACK TO BASICS – GLASS HALF FULL

    Great post

Sadly, tonight, there have only been a handful of posters talking sense about the game tonight….and I don’t mean only those who agree with each other.

Unfortunately we’ve had the usual lunatics and pseudo politicians on to break up/kill intelligent conversations and observations about Ange and the team.

At the end of the day, personally, I think we’re definitely on an upward curve

  6. Back to Basics – Glass Half Full,

I was of the same mind staying away whilst the venting was gonnae happen.

It looked like the Pitch was narrowed Big Time and for a home team to play most of the game with 10 men defending the Penalty box was horrible to watch. How the wide guys were still slipping in the 2nd half is a mystery. Hmmm

    Thats their prerogative.

Celtic are stretched beyond belief at this moment in Time, so results like Tonights urnae so out of the question @ this Time of Year.

Investment needed in January – specifically the very start of the month.

  7. A problem for me, and I’ll hazard a guess here, for most Celtic fans, would not be so much losing the league, but more losing the league to Sevco.

If it were ANY other team I’d lose sleep for a day, but Sevco it would last a month.

Even then, if they won it fairly,ie: without the help of refs and Sevco supporting managers/players it would be easier to swallow. But, between EBTs, teams lying down,(Dunfermline to name but one) and horrible cheating refs, I honestly can’t remember when they’ve won ANYTHING without outside help

  8. Interesting fact

I have a golfing buddy who is friends with Mike McCurry

He asked if I’d like to make up a four ball with him included. 5 points to anyone who can guess what my answer was

    Ange what age? 49? 59? 69? What?

And nobody in Timdom had ever heard of him until the summer, anybody denying that is at it.

Now if you question this man they are on the verge of erecting the gallows for the questioner.

    Weird doesn’t scratch the surface.

I’d say that certain sectors of Celtic supporters are now mollycoddling Ange, too afraid to admit that maybe they were a little over the top with their understanding of this Ange guy.

Too afraid could be for lots of reasons.

Ego, saving face, denying what’s in front of them, are gang totems.

    Maybe even clique totems.

For me, cliques, cults, clans, lodges, are anti-Celtic.

    For example.

A clique in Celtic’s dressing room in 1994, consisting of, Bonner, Boyd, Grant, McStay, Nicholas, and a few others, colluded to put down the tools, to ensure the sacking of Lou Macari.

The cliques antics in 1994, saw the next three league titles heading to Ibrox, ensuring a Rangers 9 in a row.

The clique were given huge pay rises to stay on at Celtic, after Macari was sacked, it was as though the clique were being rewarded with new improved contracts, not for their success on the pitch, because there was no success, so why the rewards for these players who’d failed Celtic supporters since 1989? Was McCann instructing these players to put the tools away from outside a club he was hoping to take over, but didn’t fancy working with Macari, as Macari was too wide for McCann? If so, did McCann also stab the ‘Rebel Consortium’ in the back as they were up for backing Macari, and saw Tommy Burns as, not experienced enough, and so it proved, so they didn’t invest in McCann’s plan, leaving Celtic skint by October, as McCann’s skullduggery had chased the ‘Rebel Consortium’ away after they witnessed how underhanded he’d been with them? Point am trying to make is, Celtic fail when it is run by cliques. Five of the last 10 years was a procession for Celtic with no challengers in the league with anything near the resources available to Celtic’s managers. But none of that should’ve happened but it did because Celtic PLC played along with the sleekit save Rangers campaign of, 2009, 2010, 2011, because Celtic fc is run within a clique environment, not a meritorious environment, so there were titles gifted to help Rangers, and to fk with the Celtic fans interests! Cliques are anti-Celtic. Fergus put his fragile ego interests to the fore, way ahead of Celtic fans interests when he sacked Macari in 94, and gave failed Celtic players new bumper contracts for failure? What? Shouldn’t McCann have helped Macari to sack the dressing room failures, and replaced the proven failures with better different players of the managers choosing, how do we really know how bad Wayne Biggins actually was when he was playing in a Celtic team where at least seven players had put the tools away? When the ‘Rebel Consortium’ got cold heels with McCann almost immediately, the crest was cracked, and it remains cracked to this very day. Sacking Macari cost Celtic Champions League money as Macari had shown twice at Ibrox that he knew how to outfox Walter Smith’s Rangers team, six in a row Champions at that time, and with proper backing Macari would’ve provided a few surprises imho.

So the club is clique infested now, and it has been since 1994, a club were executives actually fear a manager getting success, which would boost that managers status considerably, which executives don’t like, unless that manager is WGS, “a CEO’s dream manager” said PL, which says it all. An opportunity to change Celtic from the secrecy of the Kelly’s & White’s era, was sabotaged by Fergus McCann’s duplicitous, skullduggery, rewarding failed players with bumper deals, for what? What did these failed players do to earn such a raise? Was McCann cutting deals with these players to get rid of the wiley Macari, and bring in these players choice of manager? No business man rewards failure, so why then, when rejuvenation was needed in the dressing room, not inflate failed players contracts, and then try to sell the only player who didn’t put the tools away, John Collins, the best player by far at the club, try to sell him because you ran out of money in October because the ‘Rebel Consortium’ smelt a rat and bailed, and as John Collins was seen as being problematic, because he didn’t do cliques? When will this club ever know peace?

    You are definitely a hun

Your only posts are to decry the board, manager, coaches, team, individual players and the support.

You never, win, lose or draw have anything positive to say.

Your sole purpose on this site is to try and destroy any good will or intent. You are a hun

    Never EVER a jungle man

    Absolute mental tosspot

  11. That was a sore one but not unexpected. After Ross County and Hibs you could see clearly we are having trouble finding the back of the net.We simply don’t have a natural goalscoring CF except for Kyogo and Jota is a great finisher. Whomever we have relied on hasn’t been able to deliver the goods. Ajeti surely needs to be let go to bring in someone more capable, I’d even have Nisbet to replace him. GK is a mystery. I don’t understand why we signed him. His goalscoring record in his final season in the Eredivisie was good but outside of that season wasn’t anywhere near prolific. We shouldn’t be buying players who don’t fit in or aren’t oven ready to play the manager’s style. Actually our problem is simply lack of striking options. Otherwise at least in SPFL we can cope with other losses. MJ has the guile to get through packed defenses but his end product is poor. Abada is not a dribbler and his crosses can be poor too.Owen Moffat is too raw for the challenge of 11 men behind the ball. That was our front three last night so is anyone surprised we scored zero goals?

The reason why Ange will not compromise his style is that when you do you lose the momentum, you lose the psychological preparedness, you lose the opportunity to overcome a challenge and to learn about the style. It’s not that he’s stubborn. It’s technical: “use it or lose it”. Problem for Celtic is we’re always back to square one or further back with a new manager and we are hopelessly managed overall by those who are there season after season. How long now have we been without key players over the last couple of seasons?

We were never prepared for CL qualifiers.

There is still a lot to be thankful for and there are plenty of reasons not to lose hope.

  12. park the bus 442 long ball,

Fergus made sure so many wurnae paying transport fees to get to Celtic Park.

Last Night is gone, forget about it. We have to win in Perth if we want to Win this League, IMO.

    I’m confident we will.

    ••••••••

The manager is too set in his ways to even think that it might just be his fault that all of those players are injured, now he wants new players and he’ll injure them too.

Ange is another PLC pisstake they know that only Celtic would be daft enough to recruit him, and he’s ideal cover for throwing yet another league to Ibrox.

  14. ILJASB

I agree with half of your post.

I think most managers have a 3-5 year lifespan.

I think, with one or two exceptions, most managers agree

Recently we’ve had Ronnie, Brendan, Neil and now Ange. On the European stage I’d say, Ange excepted, they’re much of a muchness.

Domestically, Brendan ruled supreme, but, for style and entertainment, Ange wins hands down

I’m happy to give the guy at least 2-3 years to see what he can do.

If he fails I’m willing to go back to drab, boring, winning football to get us back on track.

Then I’d try Ange for a second time

  15. park the bus 442 long ball on

Petec, I think Ange is a stuntman for the PLC.

It’ll be too late when all the penny’s drop.

  16. park the bus 442 long ball on

Petec, yes Fergus did well with the transport and must be applauded for that.

Fergus didn’t even congratulate Wim Jansen on winning the league to stop a hun 10 in a row, because he was also a spiteful wee bassa.

    Bit like maself! ☺ 👍

Wim Leaving wiz a blow efter whit he’d done for Celtic.

    Anyway sleep time.

Celtic will win the League if Ange is backed properly in January, IMO.
