  1. Strip didn’t cost us the game but I hope I never see Celtic wear it again and that is not just because we lost.

Secondly St. Mirren played well, they imposed their game on us, out muscled us and deserved their win,

Thirdly, Yes , we should have started with our best available fit eleven, if we had a game next Wed., I’d understand resting players but break gave us unique opportunity to put our best foot forward and we didn’t take it,

Fourthly, Days like today happen to the best of teams, its why we follow & love the game.

Nothing is guaranteed nor should it be, We have enjoyed and celebrated great performances so let’s not act like spoiled children after a rare bad day.

It’s one day short of a year since our last League loss.

Fifthly & Finally, its how the team reacts to today is what will define our Season, not what happened today.

  2. Lack of respect shown for fellow Celtic fans during the minutes silence set the tone for a flat performance and the result we deserved. Bullied in every department which was encouraged by the mib and wearing the dullest away strip ever. At least this reminder came six games in instead of with six to go!.

  3. MADMITCH

Why would any Celtic supporter give a shit about how the bookies will react to this result?

  4. Very disappointing. Here’s hoping we never see that abomination of a strip ever again. Why, apart from somebody making money, would anyone feel that monstrosity has anything to do with CELTIC?

  5. First league defeat in one year….please fellow fans let it sink in.The performance was poor, but there should be enough in the tank to take care of today’s opposition.Time for a break, regroup and forward to reclaiming the title….. yes I know there are CL games ahead.

●By the way missed the second half grand daughter playing for local team, had to go and collect her,bus arrived late, got a soaking and then, that result.

    That’s the way CSC.

  6. TMcL @ 2.33

If it doesn’t make sense then it doesn’t make sense.

And our low energy / no drive / no desire performance does not make sense.

I wonder if the bookies made money on today’s result?

Or I wonder if anyone made a lot of money on today’s result?

The team performed if it had been on a bender after Wednesday’s game.

Same vibe as the midweek ICT failure in May 2011 — NL and his Stag weekend.

  7. Worst I’ve seen us play under Ange Postecoglu.

Very pedestrian 1st half which looked like an exercise in keeping possession.

It seemed as if we weren’t even trying to score.

Slightly better in 2nd half when we tried to score but just never looked like managing it

  8. Did their GK have a blinder?

Did Ludge MIB play their joker?

Neither of these two things happened.

Our failure came from somewhere else.

  9. We never stop……learning, victory or defeat its always the same, work to do….what’s new we are Celtic.

    Well done St.Mirren.a Merited victory.

Mention of the last livi defeat had me thinking of troll-tam cancer here last year and their we might not make top 6 narrative.laugh at them

We have work to do and nowt to be afraid of

  10. Surprised to see the changes in midfield today given the changes in defence.

I’ll assume CCV and JJ were injured, Starfelt already out. We’re playing a very untested defence so for me, you keep everything else the same. To change up the midfield as well given the changes at the back, just spelt trouble.

There’s no maybe about it, Ange – you got your team wrong and for me, were absent in proactively going about rectifying your mistake.

So you’re not the messiah but just a very good coach. We live and learn.

  11. Appreciated BSR – Not sure about Calum though as MOtM as I couldn’t pick one. Easily Curtis Main who was a thorn in our side. ( Was allowed to be…)

Walker said it was a difficult decision for 2nd offside goal – the two handed push in the back wasn’t a foul for him – as you’d need to draw a line across pitch to tell. Replay shows a big black vertical line from strikers tap clearly ahead of everyone else. MIB Robertson was never gonna blow for either and assistant played along

Bad day at the office, starting at the top.

  12. The team today is almost identical to the one who beat Ross County 4-1 away

Same midfield, Bernabei for Taylor, GG for Kyogo.

Maybe we need to start GG in games like today, for whatever reason Kyogo was pretty anonymous today.

  13. Arsenal’s Ethan Nwaneri becomes youngest Premier League player at 15

Fifteen-year-old Ethan Nwaneri became the youngest player in Premier League history when he came on as a substitute for Arsenal as they returned to the top of the Premier League with a comfortable 3-0 win at Brentford on Sunday.

Nwaneri, who is 15 years and 181 days old, came on in the second minute of stoppage time, the first player under 16 to play in the competition. Harvey Elliott, now at Liverpool, previously held the record at 16 years and 30 days when he played for Fulham in 2019.

  14. Minor point in the grand scheme of things,it was our throw in,when it’s the other way round Sky show replays for days….

  15. Just reading Ange’s comments to bbc – says JJ has played a lot of football. That suggests to me he was rested today. Very strange decision given the changes already at CB. Ange, you’ve had a mare today.

  16. I think Moritz Jenz is a more natural looking footballer than the awkward Starfelt BUT……. when we play the more agricultural teams like St. Mirren, Livi , Ross County and St. Johnstone, Carl’s fighting qualities would suit better. As should Ralston over Juranovic

But both CCV and Carl are out injured- we have been told this (not heard anything about Josip yet, though).

So that leaves us with Welsh and Jenz as the sole tried and tested options. Other than that we are reduced to promoting a youngster like Bosun Lawal, or use a debutant tall midfielder like Abdilgaard.

Of the available options, Ange made the right choice today in Central defence. Both have served us well previously and both contributed to driving forward today but neither did terribly well on the defensive front.

  17. Bad day at the office, no point in blaming anyone as everyone was at fault.

Still top so that’s a positive.

    SFTB

I hold my hands up and admit I was wrong, unlike many on here I can do that, didn’t bother to check afore I posted, my mistake all day long.

The gloating from a few posters was pathetic and childlike mind you.

  18. Go tell the Spartim on

To add to Celtic40me’s points (not always agree) what responsibility do the players take. Biggest challenge for us is playing with 2 relatively inexperienced CB who hopefully don’t play together any time soon. The players know what’s expected it’s not new to them.

  19. Guys I told you yesterday CCV out with a torn muscle.

    Ange Hibsd it. End of.

    Hopefully a lesson learned.

The squad players aren’t natural starters.

    D :)

  20. The fickle nature of fans, unbeaten for a year

Did Ange ever claim he was the Messiah

No man is perfect and the man that never made a mistake has never been born

Ange has held his hands up, never threw any player or coaching staff or referee under a bus to soothe a big ego

it seems some want the gallows set up for Ange

    gie it a rest ffs

  21. Many people were calling for Ralston to be given more of a chance after a great season last year. He was a great asset for us in many games last season so I cannot see a bizarre choice there.

One that turned out wrong, sure, but that’s not down to Ange. Only Tony has to answer for his sub-par performance today..

And those of us who have been praising Mooy clan now see that he is a very useful closer of a game already won, but not as effective when you are level or behind

  22. SETTING FREE THE BEARS FOR RES. 12 & OSCAR KNOX on 18TH SEPTEMBER 2022 3:06 PM

Mooy was a lot of peoples man of the match in Dingwall

I’d agree he picked the wrong team today but I think his mistake was compounded by the attitude of the players who started, the intensity which is so important wasn’t there from the start.

Intensity is all-important from the start for Ange’s Celtic. Maybe Calmac creates a better tempo for the team, he moved back into his old role at the end of the first half and Mooy moved further up the pitch so Snge could have seen it that way

It was a bit of a breakdown of his system today, the team that finished was a real dogs dinner of a line up.

I think attitude played more of a part in that than anything but I think that’s still more on Ange than the players.

At some point we’ll see it again, like Paul67 said we can’t expect the players to approach every game with the same mindset over an extended period, not even a change in personnel can stop that from happening. But hopefully he’ll be a bit wiser to it in future

  23. Tony suffered like others in the defence ,the comfort blanket of CCV not being there showed for all to see .

For a team of Celtics stature not having someone to hit freekicks in and around the box baffles me . We have so many ball players but seldom hit the target from outside the box.

The last few games we’ve had space to play our expansive football the boys were brought back down earth today .

Anyhoo, we have time to regroup and go again …… disappointed .

  24. By the way Mr Robertson MIB was a disgrace.

A horrible individual of the cheating variety.

They fouled with impunity, time wasted even he of the black uniform time wasted for them. They walked 10 to 15 yards from where the ball went out to take a long throw in. And Robertson allowed this all day. UTTER CHEATING SCUM.

    D :)

  25. Tempo was off from the start with so many changes.

But as I say if Ange learned anything about squad players today then a lesson learned.

    We now move forward.

    D :)

  26. With someone honest and impartial on the VAR today would have disallowed both of their goals btw, the first Anto was getting fouled and their second was offside, but in scotland both goals would have stood, not using that as an excuse, we did not deserve anything from the game, in fact we were lucky to get nil, but I will wager that we will come back stronger for it, pity about CCV, we sure missed him today and will in the coming games, it’s at times like this that we need a strong def mid IMO, but hopefully Ange has it sussed.

  27. Proud of the people who stood up for liberty in Paisley today! Exercising their freedom of speech in Blighty. The same freedom of speech that Bbc commentators abused, through ignorance not bigotry, laughing at

their own jokes, they do don’t they?, at a funeral procession the other day.

“Hibsed it” is a naff slight from Heartless of Motherless supporters and is like inventing “weegies” for Glaswegians. Stop Edonburgh Mafia. Stop.

  28. Was away for the weekend.

Got caught up in the traffic jam following the fatal accident on the A9 on Friday.

A 73 yo lady sadly died and other people were hurt which is very sad.

Our 73 mile journey, normally 90 mins took 5 hours.

    Still, we got there safely.

Hotel then advised us our two night booking had been changed to one, on the 5th September by me.

(I obviously disputed this as it was not true)

Anyway they had another room they could give us.

Out for a pre dinner drink, wife loses her handbag. Thankfully got it back intact.

Inlaws had ordered a bottle of red with our dinner on Friday night, which was nice.

After breakfast on Saturday, manager knocks our room door. Hands in the air he apologises for the cock up and blames a member of staff. There will be no charge for the room and he says there is a complimentary bottle of Prosecco behind the bar for us. We get a refund of £258, which is nice.

Drive home while the game is on but do not listen to the radio.

Get home to visitors who don’t leave until just after 2:00pm.

    Check score. Oh well.

Don’t know if I’m having a good weekend or not!

Second glass of Bunnahabhain 12 yo, 46.3% abv.

    Absolutely delicious!

    Mibbe things are lookin’ up.

    Oh and shit happens.
