The reserve team always played the first team. The reserves always won.

  4. As our founding fathers said “Our Hearts are in Ireland “☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

  5. We could win the league the day we play Hearts at home if 2 and half hours later that lot have lost at Dundee. They kick off at 5.30. We will finish around 5.

I imagine a few might just hang around Celtic Park or the east end that day if we do win our next 2 home games. What a celebration that would be.

Dundee will have far more at stake than rangers for their game.

  6. A lot, but not our manager, have been critical of away crowds being allowed back for Glasgow derbies.

It’s a tough one for me as it has been fun skelping them these past few years when it mattered. And not being too bothered when not at ibrox.

I must admit some of my favourite Celtic moments have been winning or getting good results at ibrox. I am sure many would agree.

Johnny Hayes 2-0 or The Aaron Ramsey cancelled out by Cal games recently. The 2-2 10 men in 1980. The 2-1 Centenary-and the 2-2 earlier that season. The 4-2 Charlie Nic last game and the 2-0 Sami. The John Harrison 1-0. The Beach Ball Sunday. 2-3 Jelly n Ice Creamand 3-2 Eddy 10 men game. Alan Thompson Hunskelper game, Lubo and HL 3-0. The 5-1 and 2-0 LG games and wee Fergus in the Broomloan 2-1 game. Ferguson falling over when wee Paul McStay scored and the 4-4 game. The 2-2 when HL headed an equaliser and Joe Craig 1-0. So many great times. Every one savoured as they left in misery. I can’t wait to go in May because whether we win lose or draw it will be another chapter in a book of joy. A book which makes all the bad ones feel worth the pain. There are few things better than being there when we beat them.

  7. Writing re these I have remembered another couple of classics : the 2-1 Charlie Nic new year game and the 2-2 Broony were both really special.

Whether some like it or not ..

Especially “glassneverfull” on every first page the Huns are a necessary evil … ask Henrik, Jota, even Kasper Scheimchel … its hard for us to attract players but they ALL love the Glasgow derby… Brendan, Ange, Neil, Tommy Burns (better tic fan than any) and even St Martin … the rivalry whether some like it or not is a selling point for both players & managers

I dislike the Huns as much as the next Celtic fan but in around 14 days time all the pubs will be packed, sky sports will have us on sky sports 1 main event … as a business man surely you realise the Huns are good for business

Am glad Brendan wants to be here and this fixture is one of the reasons why

Hibs certainly played better in the 2nd half after a dreadful and dull first 45.

Their LB Cadden is a dangerous crosser of a ball and wee Boyle has an eye for goal but, that aside, we should be able to demolish them IMO. Also, their centre of defence is a bombscare no matter who is playing.

*SENTINEL CELTS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2024-25*

*RESULTS FROM GAME #45 ST MIRREN 2 CELTIC 5 (SCHLUPP, ENGELS, YANG(2), MAEDA)*

    Good evening, friends.

With a pre-arrange sleepover for Grandweans that had to include the traditional ‘Dinner At McDonalds’ I missed the first half hour and then only caught snippets of the rest. So you are being spared a match report this time around.

By the time the full whistle blew there was a nice symmetry about our stats. We have played 29 league games and scored 87 goals. And with 9 games remaining we are certainly in with a good chance of setting a new goals scored record for the 38-game league which I think Celtic currently hold at 106. 2 per game, but 3 in our 2 games against Sevco and that’ll be enough.

Another great weekend where we extend our lead to 16 points and have a better goal difference by a whopping 37. It’s possible to clinch the title on 29th March but looking more likely to be on Sunday 6th April when we travel to Perth.

We have now played 45 games this season, winning 32, drawing 8 and losing 5. We have scored 126 and conceded 41 (domestically it’s 111-24 and in Europe it’s 15-17).

Thank you so much to the 86 who voted this time around. The total votes cast for each player are as follows, with my own nominations asterisked.

    Schmeichel: 31

    Johnston: 4

    Carter-Vickers: 0

    Trusty: 0

    Schlupp*: 45

    McGregor: 0

    Engels: 33

    Idah: 0

    Maeda: 45

    Jota: 0

    McCowan: 6

    Yang*: 64

    Kenny: 0

And so, the players receiving POINTS for the game against St Mirren are –

Maeda, Schlupp – 4 points each

    Engels – 2 points

    Schmeichel – 1 point

And the overall positions after 45 games played are –

We now have a week’s break before facing Hibs at home in the Scottish Cup Quarter Final. The game is at Celtic Park on Sunday with a 3.00pm kick off.

    Hail Hail!

bazza bawl is putting the hairdryer to max power as we speak

    They will drop more points…..

  14. I know big Sutton is loved or loathed but in my opinion he is Celtic through n through

    ———

He is, but he has survived by taking the coin and biting his lip, and is regarded as a charlatan

Many have unbit the lip and let rip

nd been binned from the coin of the bbc

However, no he is as much of a pundit as a celtic fan – and that seesaw swings both ways – hence the distrust

  15. Clunks …

Personally I don’t think he does it for a wage .. He is a wind up merchant and probably says things (& gets other people to write things) to do his job

I’d rather Chris on the telly than most, and I think his Celticness always shines through (just my opinion) I prefer ex-Celts calling it as they see it rather than the EBTers who prefer the head in the sand and the WATP approach …. Which is probably the worst acronym in the world :-)

  16. I had to cancel sky as I kept meeting boyd in local shops/coffee shops

    bad thoughts lol

Not worth that as he is just as much of a bam as sutton

  17. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

From BBC Sport article covering Pep’s complaint about balls used in cup ties

“In the weekend’s FA Cup action, several Premier League sides had a higher percentage of shots on target than in their previous league matches, including Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Wolves and Newcastle”

    ——-

    Useless non statistical context.

Either picking a side or incompetence.

My money is on the latter.

Several Premier League sides had higher percentage of shots on target?

So, er, we can assume several had lower?

This would be Premier League sides playing lower league opponents or Premier League opponents fielding weaker sides?

And to top it off … a faithful homage to the famous Monty Python sketch ….

    … replacing “spam” with” Newcastle”

  18. BIG JIMMY from YESTERDAY…

The Crown Creighton was my MAIN local Pub when I lived in Dennistoun in Two separate Flats in different era’s, although back in the 1970’s it was known simply as ” The Crown”, with Tommy Keirnan being the owner and a Celtic share holder for many years.

It WAS/IS the ONLY Celtic Pub on Duke Street.

Although the DUKE was mainly full of Celtic fans on Match days. Most other days it was a Hun Pub. I drank in it on some Match Days with my Celtic mates, but I also drank in it with my Ex Hun IN LAWS back in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.

    ………….

    CORRECTION…

I was seldom in ” The DUKE” pub when I lived in Dennistoun from 1977….it was in FACT.. ” The ALEEXANDRIA BAR”…otherwise known as ” The ALI BAR”.

It was mainly a Hun Pub during most days except on Match Days/Hights at Celtic Park, when it would be pretty full of Celtic supporters.

My memory was mixed up with The ALI Bar, and the DUKE Bar. I only realised MY MISTAKE after I had Posted.

Apologises, auld age is taking over sometimes….

    LOL.

    HH.

Can’t remember if I’ve already posted this but a reminder anyway.

Shipbank Shipwrecks meeting this Friday March 7th, 12 onwards. Anyone interested in a trip to Cork to see the Celtic let me know.

  22. The thing about merchandise is that you don’t have to buy it. I won’t be indulging at that price, my son on the other hand 🤔

  23. See the usual suspect on complaining about Adidas gear.Dull of thought.Celtic don’t design, manufacture, stock their stores with Adidas gear, and price it,Adidas do.That’s why we get the big bucks. You want to buy it,fill your boots, you don’t,no problem.

How hard is that to understand?.
