  1. C.O.Y.B.I.G.

CELTIC: Schmeichel, Tierney, Scales, Trusty, Ralston, McGregor (C), Engels, Hatate, Tounekti, Maeda, Iheanacho

Subs: Sinisalo, Nygren, Balikwisha, Yang, McCowan, Kenny, Bernardo, Forrest, Donovan

  2. The Battered Bunnet on

That’s a pretty stuffy looking team. We get little productive from Tounekti on the left while Maeda is repeatedly neutered on the right. Perhaps they’ll swap sides.

The three in midfield are the same three that have struggled to spark in possession for a year.

I think Bro Wilf has taken a wee hit to his confidence and gone with a ‘same as before’ side that protects him a little.

I’d rather go down in flames than be smothered by self doubt.

It’s a cup final and the only thing that matters is to win, but a wee reminder that our last 3 matches v St Mirren have finished 1-0, 1-0 and 1-1 (James Forrest with the 95th minute equaliser).

Given all of that, it’s likely to be a sticky afternoon.

Good news is that the rain looks to be clearing and we could have an increasingly zippy surface as the pitch drains over the course of the match.

  3. the long wait is over on

No great concerns for me with the team and am somewhat encouraged that WN appears to be willing to be flexible if his preferred formation isn’t working.

We know Ralston is limited we are facing a team of hammerthrowers.

Yet to be convinced by Tounekti – hopefully today will be his day.

    We’ve surely enough to prevail.

  4. Cmon Celtic Let the people sing.

Any kind of win will do.HH

jamsie to score late on and win it for us.

    HopefullyCSC

“It’s a cup final and the only thing that matters is to win, but a wee reminder that our last 3 matches v St Mirren have finished 1-0, 1-0 and 1-1 (James Forrest with the 95th minute equaliser).”

Just noticed that our 1-0 win over St Mirren in August needed a Like McCowan goal in the 89th minute. Similarly, CalMac’s 95th minute howitzer a couple of weeks ago.

Bloody hell, we leave it late against this mob, don’t we.

  6. As others have said hopefully enough on the pitch to take the cup home to Paradise

Not a big fan of 4-3-3 you need real top quality in the front three for it to be very effective as at Bayern early this year, Jota, Maeda and Kuhn providing the pace skill and football intelligence

Worries over getting outmanned in midfield and with only two tall centerbacks to defend at set pieces we look vulnerable

  7. 67 European Cup Winners on

    My read of the team

    Back 3 Ralston Trusty Scales

2 wing backs Marda on the right KT on the left

3 in the middle McGregor Engles Hatate (possibly CMcG behind the other two)

    Iheanacho through the middle

No idea where Tounekti is going to roam

    Game 3 another experiment

We have lost 5 goals in 2 games and scored 1 in 2

MoN we scored 16 goals in 7 games and lost 6 (3 at Midtjylland and 2 penalties and i in Holland)

I have lost a bit of confidence – I know early days and give the guy some time

MoN picked the same system as BR changed one or two players but kept the backbone the same

It looks like WN is looking for a change that brings him luck

    I hope he finds it

Nervous yes confident no Hopeful absolutely

  8. Pleased with the team

Will be interesting to see how we set up.

Glad that Ralston is playing as it’s going to be a battle.

The ping to Daezan could be key with the big pitch.

I’ve bet Reo 1st goal at 9s so get your cash on Iheanacho.

I hope every single Celtic fan all over the world has a great day.

    Up the Celts x 2

  9. I seen Port Vale drew again yesterday.

    Is GENE still posting

Haven’t seen him for a while

  10. So who gets the responsibility for todays result? Thought the question should be asked before we know what happens.

So who gets the responsibility for todays result?

Thought the question should be asked before we know what happens.

    —–

    Lol, TS.

    If we win?

The faction we align to and any individuals within that group we so choose.

    If we lose?

    The other lot.

  12. Aipple- I hope you stay in the corner and not behind the couch! +10 degrees in TX but hits freezing overnight.

    Nice when it’s a novelty 🥶

  13. A back 3 containing Ralston. Tounetki as RWB.

    Where’s Maeda playing ?

If this is a back 3, this is a very untidy set up.
