Charlie scores with the penalty we win the game simple really

Plus on chances alone we should have been out of sight

On chances alone Barcelona woulda scudded us…lucky for us we took our chances,,,, they missed theirs…today was a game where we squandered possession, missed chances,,, and the saints took theirs. We were well beaten.

    Well beaten my arse

They turned up to play. They were brutal last week and got thumped. We underestimated them. They fought hard, played their game plan, took their chances…we didn’t…they deserved to win as simple as that. They had a team of performers,, we had none…hence we were well beaten.

  2. We hit the bar twice an inch or 2 above or below the bar the score and squandered other chances as well Broonie’s springs to mind when he should have made the cut back would have been 5-3 so we may have had an off day but we were certainly not well beaten

Granted we did all that…and I’m not arguing..but if we had played to even 50% of our capability then we would have won comfortably…two teams were on the field..only one wanted to win. Neil Lennon would probably agree. Perhaps our expectations are set too high. Imho we certainly need a few players in,,, and we can’t afford to lose our better players. We are all celtic fans..win.lose or draw. When we wake up the morra we’ll still be,, “Being a Celtic supporter is not always easy, but it is always worthwhile”- Fergus McCann”

My only disagreement is when you said we were well beaten that suggests we were never in the game or had a chance to win it, were as I think we were in the game even though we were poor and could have and should have won it

  5. Well beaten…I was meaning by a team who got their arse spanked last week…we knew our should have known they’d be up for it. Our team failed to turn up in their usual manner. Like the barca game I always expected them to have chances and possession….we relied on our commitment, pressure, and capitalizing on taking our chances… Well st.mirren stuck to their plan and fully deserved to win. On paper we shoulda killed them. Perhaps the term well beaten isn’t the best..but I saw their commitment,, much like a saw celtics against barca…and in my opinion well beaten in terms of how they played and took their chances…lets move on and capture the league and scup…and maybe a wee bonus of the cleague. Lets face it…everyone will take us for granted…but I’m sure the real glasgow celtic will be showing up to surprise them.

  6. Firstly, Congratulations to St.Mirren, they wanted to win the game from the very first minute, I would question if our players did, as a lack of desire, shape & leadership seemed to exist. Anyone who was at the game against Dundee Utd earler this week could see although we won 4-0 it didn’t reflect what the score could have been if Utd had been more clinical. Neil Lennon spoke earlier this week that nothing could be taken for granted based on previous results against the Buddies, it appears his message fell on several deaf today.

  7. Well done to set mirren ,they deserved there win to-day,no excuses please,be truthful we have a lot of average pl ayers, some like,Wilson,Matthews,Mulgrew,Zalsuska,Lassad,Izzy,Commons, and im afraid time is up for Samaras.theo se players need to be punted in the summer, also maybe a change in the management as well.

They didn’t “have” 4 on Sammi at times, he takes so long to decide what to do that he “attracts” 4 players to himself. If he does move, he runs through rather than past too often and ends on his bahookie. Greetin. I’d hate to play alongside him.

  9. Watched macky-steven and johnny russell the other night, wasn,t impressed at all.lennon stays the players attitude was wrong, well its up to him to motivate them, but as much as he trys he cant, and please dont blame the pitch ,hampden, the ref, sevco or whoever, the bottom line is we are a poor team ,from the top to the bottom,at celtic football club
