Stand up for the Champions

I know when you begin to dominate a championship that when another team eventually lift the trophy it can seem like an intolerable failure; compare our distress in 2009 to our resolve to do better after the final home game in 1996.  Time adds perspective to our triumphs.  As does not being there and seeing photos of the presentation hours after the event.

These are special times, enjoy them.

Many thanks to the Columba Club in Blantyre for Friday night’s Question and Answer event, and to the irrepressible Phil Agnew, who organised the event.  I was delighted to share a stage with Paul McConville and Phil Mac Giolla Bhain.  Great to see so many CQN’ers there too, my only regret is that I didn’t get a chance to catch up with everyone. With supporters like those in Blantyre on Friday night, we’re in good hands.

Remember to buy Heart of a Lion, Willie Wallace’s magnificent autobiography, available below.

  1. All copies of Willie Wallace – Heart of a Lion purchased on CQN over the next few days will be signed by Willie when he arrives in time for the Cup Final…so we will post these signed copies out probably on the Monday after the final. By that time the normal unsigned copies will be available at all good bookstores.

A wee word on the financials – it is much better for both Willie and CQN if you can buy directly from us rather from a bookstore.

In the course of his career, Roose also turned out for Port Vale and Celtic (both 1910). He played one game for Celtic, and it was a Scottish Cup semi-final in which Celtic lost 1–3 to Clyde on 12 March 1910. He made his mark on this game by running after the goalscorer of one of the Clyde goals and shaking his hand!

just thought the difference when broony is in the team will make the chances of the ball getting to Griffiths that wee bit harder for them…smashin player all the same.

That is what, sadly, makes him an absolute cretin. A Judas turncoat. He should never be allowed to darken our door at Paradise.

  14. Walker should be held to account by anyone from Celtic media who work with him, to suggest as he did that a player looking at the ball should be able to protect himself from a side on elbow to the face by someone intending to play the man needs serious explanation, it is the same as blaming the victim , and why being an international protects you from this, stupid comment from a clown, over to you Lunny for appropriate punishment of Wright .

Wee shrimpy dodds still on abt the”old firm”. Sumdae shld slap him!!

  16. Just prior to Wright’s assault on Lustig, his mate, Anderson, punched Lustig in thevstomach.

This is what caused him to reactfor as long as he did.

One attack is bad. Two is taking liberties.
