Statement leaves Newco exposed

446

Newco’s statement on their management team is worthy of some consideration:

“At a meeting with the management team’s representative earlier this week the Club were advised that Mr Warburton, Mr Weir and Mr McParland wished to resign their positions and leave the Club on condition that Rangers agreed to waive its rights to substantial compensation.”

A meeting with a representative of the management team, not with the manager, and not a resignation letter.

The club went on: “The Board urgently convened to consider the offer made on behalf of the management team and its ramifications and agreed to accept it and release the trio from the burden of compensation”.

If you agree to the terms of an offer made on behalf of someone, you really, really, need to get the signature of the individuals concerned. If you fail to get an agreement signed, you don’t have an agreement. If you don’t even appear to have a verbal agreement with your members of staff, you get on with your work as though nothing has happened.

They’d better hope Warburton, Weir and McParland get another job quickly, otherwise I predict another raft of court cases to be paid for.  This is a statement which suggests the authors have left themselves exposed.

WorthingBhoy, I’m always happy when people tell me they don’t drink whisky as it means they’re not affecting my future supplies.

I can help you out with a bottle opener. You’ll need one when you meet some of the patrons of this blog.

Thanks for the welcome mate….I’ve been a lurker on CQN since the beginning but have hardly posted. I have had a few bevies tonight with the misses and as we know it loosens the ties a bit. This is a great time to be a Celtic supporter and every time I listen to Brendan I am totally impressed. I believe he is here for at least the 10 in a row (if we can do it). He will eventually go unless we also manage to leave the SPL at some stage. Anyway, at the moment I love where we are and am totally enjoying it always with a feeling that the downside is just round the corner!!

“ACGR – How much are we charging the caddies for the honor of carrying our bags?”

    …………………………….

We will charge then up with beer and give them the key’s to our buggies. I think we should charge them to the max, it will add to the fun.:_)

  4. WorthingBhoy – the short is you absolutely should not feel excluded, Celtic was set up for charitable not political purposes. The long answer shouldn’t be debated on a Friday night, particularly not one where the zombies are making utter fools of themselves again.

As for Warburton, the press have been briefing against him for weeks, it looks like he knew the Glib and Shameless liar wanted him out, he was made aware of interest from Forest and instructed his agent to say to Sevco, we’ll leave if Forest offer him the job and Sevco don’t demand compensation. Forest don’t offer him the job, Warburton doesn’t hand his resignation. Sevco realise they now have a manger who knows they want rid of him, and put out yet a highly unprofessional statement trying to force them out. We await the detail, but odds on a messy court case awaits.

You have already won me over happy clapper r us !!!!

I think the board do a great job as a board, they do little for the fans and more pressure should be put upon them, when the GB do the Lisbon Tifo the board won’t contribute but will sell, plenty of portraits of it (copyright AoW)….. Our board do a great job but they could do far more

Again Worthingbhoy I was brought up with my father loving Celtic, no love for any board

I know for a fact old Mick would have loved our Brendan (so would wee Rose)

  7. Worthingbhoy Great start keep on posting. Would be boring if we were all the same and serving your Country is nothing to be ashamed of. I had a cousin who was in the RAf. His mess was green white and gold and he played rebel songs loudly on his tape recorder. I was on his base and asked him how he got away with it. He just said they didn’t know what it was. Hail hail thanks to the gift that keeps on giving, no fun being a Hun. Hahahahaha.

I agree. I don’t think fans will ever truly trust the PLC but I believe that in truth we are really not too far apart. In my opinion the differences are magnified by the MSM and some of our own. If we stay united then we are unstoppable. I don’t have any ‘Love’ for the board, as Celtic supporters I think there is an inherent distrust of ‘authority’ but I don’t believe that they are out to ‘fleece’ us or get ‘heated driveways’ or ‘increase their bonuses’. They have a different approach to getting us to where we want to be but I don’t believe they are in it for the money. As I stated earlier if we stay together and ignore the MSM then we will be unstoppable. This is all my humble opinion and stated in the best possible taste :_

  22. Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board have issued an urgent plea to all doctors to report to A&E departments at their local hospitals.

Many A&E facilities are overrun tonight and queues are longer than usual even for a Friday night.

Patients are being diverted to Hairmyres and Monklanda but they too are buckling under the strain.

The cause is attributed to a huge number of Celtic fans suffering Fromm widespread case of SSS.

    Splitting Side Syndrome.

Symptoms include a wide grin, incontinence and an insatiable desire for jelly and ice cream, preferably lime jelly and vanilla ice.

Queues at the Royal are expected to recede by noon Saturday.
