STOKES POISED FOR MOVE

ANTHONY STOKES could be heading for the Celtic exit in the summer as Ronny Deila prepares to fund Champions League reinforcements.

The Republic of Ireland striker is a target for MLS side Colorado Rapids and Leeds United after fading from the picture at Parkhead. Former gaffer Neil Lennon has also been linked with a move to take him to Bolton.
Stokes believes his Hoops days are numbered after failing to feature in Friday’s 0-0 draw at St Johnstone, where a number of fringe players, including keeper Lukasz Zaluska and young left-back Kieran Tierney, started.

Despite a return to full fitness, Stokes has not started a first-team game for the champions since a 2-0 win over St Mirren at the beginning of April.

The frontman joined from Hibs in August 2010 in a £1million deal, scoring 72 goals and earning a place in Martin O’Neill’s Irish squad to face Scotland next month.

Celtic are seeking a fee in excess of £2million for a player linked with Leeds and Cardiff in January.

The Elland Road club also have an interest in Leigh Griffiths. An anticipated end-of-season bid of £1million will fall well short of Deila’s valuation of a player with 19 goals in 40 appearances this season.
