You and I discussed on Tuesday how unlikely it was Celtic were interested in Odsonne Edouard, despite media reports to the contrary. Yesterday, when asked a straight question about Odsonne, Brendan Rodgers gave a straight answer, “Odsonne hasn’t been on my radar, to be fair.” The player was worth four days’ worth of news-cycle before someone asked and received an update from Celtic. We are not watching football industry in action, it’s the news industry.
Brendan did not mince his words either, “This team needs hunger, goals and work rate and intensity.
“Big names don’t always give you that.
“I just want players who are hungry to learn but also ready now.”
That’s about as damning as it gets from a manager in a good mood after an a successful preseason workout.
A year after planning for the immediate term, Celtic seem to have pivoted back to a development plan. Let’s hope its execution matches the achievements of the 2021-24 period.

Depends how you look at it, we’re way ahead of schedule if you look back in historic windows and it’s only an update with six weeks to go. Big transfer business tends to be done much nearer deadline day. The sale of Nicolas Kuhn for such a surprising amount early in the window skews the big picture a bit.
Comparisons with noisy neighbours and perennial rebuilding ,is of no consequence to how Celtic operate certainly since Fergus McCann and Brian Quinn got into the building. Neither, is the length of BR’s contract IMO, he is contrary to the cynics ‘well in ‘ with Celtic hierarchy.
That said, I’d like him to see him extend or announce a rolling contract like MON did, to underline the undoubted progress he’s made since AP effectively once did the same as him, but got a free pass?
Most Celtic supporters have a watchful eye on the market and everyone wants better players, I think we have vacancies and he’ll fill them before the end of August.
Nothings really changed just the size of the Celtic cheques .

My GOD, Sweden were doing their utmost to throw this Quarter Final Tie AWAY….and were very successful at doing exactly that !
TWO Goals up and coasting, and then in the Penalty shootout they ALSO had chances to win it, but took it upon themselves to hit some of the WORSE Penalties in Fitba history.
Fair play to some Female Engurlund fans on TV after the shoot out, as they admitted that they felt as though Engurlund had STOLEN it ?
I had SWEDEN to win by 2 Goals to One on my Bookie Line, but my heart sank when Engurlund made it 2 – 2 in normal time.
To be fair BOTH Teams were shocking at Penalties.

Like a lot of others, to see TV from around the world I have an app on my Firestick which is just about due for renewal. I have used it for past few years. Due to the administrators of the App taking the huff to an innocent question I asked them, I don’t think they are going to allow me to renew my subscription.
Is anyone here able to send me a private communication with alternative Apps that can be downloaded that they recommend?
I already have full subscriptions to Celtic TV, Prime, Netflix etc. but for all the extra stuff . . . those that use such an app will know what I am referring to.
I appreciate that these cannot be mentioned or shared on the site, but if anyone can get in touch with me, that would be great.

I don’t watch much Women’s football or any other football for that matter when Celtic aren’t playing but you are correct, about throwing it away! I turned on to RTÉ 2 who were showing the game as the half time whistle was just blown with Sweden winning 2-0. I watched the first 20 minutes of the second half and then gave up. Look away now for all those who love Women’s football – I thought the standard on show was really bad the lack of skill on show, passing, anticipation, tackling and the goalkeeping is so bad. This was coupled with the commentator and co-commentator praising the most basic pass, shot and save as world class! I don’t know if it’s a RTÉ thing but that really put me off, it was so patronising! I couldn’t have lasted through the rest of the match, extra time and penalities, well done on sticking it out!

I’m glad to read Brendan is looking to bring in another two centre forwards before the season starts. We should have at least three tip of the spear strikers in every match squad.
Happy enough with Idah, four wins from five domestic trophies since he arrived. He’s been told publicly to sharpen up, so the next half dozen games he plays will show us he’s listened or not.
I expect at least three Celts for every Geordie at Saturday’s game, mid forty thousands. A decent enough crowd on Fair Saturday. At the very least, I know it won’t be as boring as May’s Champions League Final, the only ninety minutes football I’ve watched after our Scottish Cup defeat.

Those rules originally stated these pitches were to be binned in the top flight for 2025/26.
Then this was extended another year.
