The Scottish Government yesterday suggested the SFA act unilaterally to introduce Strict Liability on the game, making clubs liable for the actions of their lunatic fringe, or else the government would impose measures. This is a curious stance for a government who are not prepared to accept ANY liability for their own lunatic fringe.
When the lunatics in charge only see other people’s lunatics, we’re all in trouble. And it should be noted, lunatics inhibiting a democracy cause vastly more damage than football fans fighting on a field once every 36 years.
The notion of Strict Liability in itself is a separate question, but I have serious concerns at the increasingly right wing, and selective, attitude to law and control at Holyrood.
If you want to impose Strict Liability on football, accept if for yourself first. Then come back after a year’s experience and talk to us about football. This, of course, will never happen. Not all lunatic fringes are equal.

Captain Beefheart,
The SFA will look even more farcical if they have to take action against the “Tartan Army”

Pretty sure Ibrahimovic said something very similar during last seasons transfer window regarding people being surprised where he might end up.
I always felt/dreamed he was hoping to experience what i dare say Henrik had told him of the nights in Paradise on that stage and was waiting to see if we qualified for the Champions League before opting for another year with PSG when we crashed n burned.
Same scenario again this time and is he going to wait n see whether we can get there this time?
A big final payday might be all some players think of but sometimes money aint an issue to a guys like that at this stage of the career they have had…….and maybe playing in Paradise with the thunder rocking the stadium is something that time is running out for him on and he wants to feel it crackling away himself?
So many of the cream of football have been in awe ot it and its something you either have to be lucky enough to experience by being drawn against us, but the odds on that happening are a long shot now for him so how do you make sure of it?
I really believe he would love to experience what Henrik did here and may well be waiting to see how it goes this year…….
Reckon we could put another tier on the stadium if that happened!

That’s at least £15m-worth.
Enough for them to be a viable concern going forward.
Not enough for debt to be cleared, but a big step forward.
Government saying to fitbaw get yir act together regarding everything to do with fitbaw except governance!
Can government take back ownership of sectarianism in Scotland instead of attempting to foist it on us as football fans.I resent that. They have the social, economic and political to do so.ah dont.I just want a Celtic victory.

AN TEARMANN
Any government is wasting its time trying to eradicate sectarianism in football when it is permitted to thrive in wider society.
It’s paying lip-service,playing to the gallery. They don’t have the balls to tackle the problem at source.
Captain Bee Fart
Are you including Celtic in the new Scottish redefinition of the word sectarianism?
If not , is your reference ‘to sorting out our songbook’ in relation to the away fans and some old
Irish political songs which some find offensive?
If it is why do you lump it in with ‘sectarianism’ and the dictionary definition.
If Celtic fans sing sectarian songs can you enlighten me, what we sang, where we sang it, and on what date
you attended a game where you heard Celtic fans singing a sectarian song.
Bearing in mind they ended at CP even before 1994 and Fergus McCann’s new stadium with mission statement – take your time.
Just watched the gibbering monkey Brown on the news, can’t see Celtic getting ten in a row….ten in a row, ten in a row.
Time to nail that lid down.

Oh Holy God, Another one pops up.
The various sayings of my dearly departed Mum, keep popping up as I read CQN.
“Never argue with a Fool at their level”
“The Devil finds work for Idle Hands”, in the case of CQN read Idle Minds.
“What you’d see when you wouldn’t have a gun,”
There are plenty more, when this place is good it’s a pure joy, but sometimes it’s just a pure pain in the ass.
With that final thought. I’ll bid ye good denizens of CQN all the best for the while.
Hopefully when someone definitely goes or signs, a sensible conversation will ensue.
……………………………………………..
I second that motion. When politics takes over time to take a break. I’ll look back in when something football related happens in the Celticsphere. Until then ………………………

A wee bit of Devil’s Advocacy.
Does anyone, except Lurkin’ Huns, think that the owners of Rangers, old or new, have ever genuinely tried to curb the excesses of the more unsavoury actions of the club’s support.
I would guess that on the balance of probability the answer would be resounding NO.
That being the case, is not a degree of Stricter Liability required?
Posted above over three hours ago.
Apparently nobody on CQN thinks that THEMS ‘ Their hooligans are worse than our hooligans’ management could do with a bit of ‘Strict Liability’,
I believe that THEMS management celebrated cup semi victory with some of the ‘Ould Numbers’.

Problem with sectarianism in football is that SFA don’t have the balls to tackle it.
To do so would involve taking on club that it and others have endeavoured to salvage for last five years.
That ain’t gonna happen.

The bhoys slept on the Zlatan odds.
I got it at 8 million to one….£ 50 quid.
If it comes off, i will then buy Celtic, and put myself upfront with Leigh Griff and Zlatan…..Three pronged attack:)

If I could offer those kind of odds I would buy out THEM and SFA and shut them both down.

From silence so far I doubt it.
