Being responsible is not always easy, especially when it comes to running a football club, where playing to the gallery offers vastly better short-term returns, and no doubt a rush of endorphins.
If your fans are engaged in an activity which regularly brings them to the attention of the courts, and your club into disrepute, it doesn’t matter what you think of the apparent offense. You may chant an offending song in the shower every morning month, but your only public comment on the matter can be to chastise and urge fans to desist.
Clubs in Scotland voted against what is known as strict liability. This means they are not held responsible for transgressions by their fans – and who wants to be held responsible for the actions of others who protected from personal liability by hiding in a crowd.
Part of the deal on not having strict liability is that clubs must demonstrate that they take all steps necessary to dissuade and educate their fans from carrying out criminal or regulatory offenses. It’s simply not possible for club to tell fans their illegal actions were justified, as this would place the club itself in the firing line.
The nonsense following the Scottish Cup final is all background noise as far as we are concerned, but be aware the contagion will spread beyond those you could consider highly dysfunctional operators.
Solving Kids Cancer in memory of Oscar Knox
Our own Bundoran Bhoy will run the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday on behalf of Solving Kids Cancer. He has put in an enormous amount of work ahead of the event, for a cause which you are only too familiar with.
26 miles is a long way to run. You can give him some encouragement on his Just Giving page.
Good luck, Tommy.

ELDIEGOBHOY –
The staff at The Beatson trully are Angels. I have a lot to be thankful for on that score. Not me personally but as close as it gets. Keep fighting and keep renewing!
Good Evening.
Here’s something very different. A song. Words by me, music by the legend that it Billy No’Well!

Wee jay is a star
What I find amazing is Sammi then Stef Jo have taken the wee man under their wing (not forgetting Lenny) maybe that shows more about Celtic ‘s infectiousness for our foreign stars, the wee man is living the dream
34,000 is a good figure at this point but I’m I disappointed that it’s not over 40,000?
Also, it’s OK getting folk to renew getting them to turn up has been the problem.
BOOM! Rooney. counter attack tastic.
Rooney sclaffs a mishit that sneaks over the line.

Sin city bhoy. I was on earlier pointing out a few things.

Evening bhoys and ghirls.
Eldiegobhoy your some man. I know you will have many more season books to purchase in the years to come. KTF.
Having given up my season tickets when my son got arrested and how Celtic dealt with it at the time I said I would not go back. Thankfully Hamiltontim done his Mr Celtic and sorted all that out. So spoke with the bhoy at the gym this morning and we are gonna get the season books back.
Looking forward to seeing Brendan build a great team.

Rogic looking good tonight,
Arsenal reputed (by the “meedja” can they be called that in scotland?) to be preparing a £7 Million bid.
Might have to up that.

His touch is sublime, his fitness is shocking, looked knackered after his first run.
He’s a taller, fatter Paddy McCourt
EDB, I’ve not been back in Scotland for a while now, however we have been in the same company.
Since you announced ‘things’ on this site, you’ve been in my thoughts.
You are a fine man and I remember you well.
(a strong minded b*stard if memory serves me well?!)
God’s Grace to you, sir
EDB
The angels working at the Beatson are a true credit to the NHS and not paid near enough the worth of their compassion and kindness, never mind the work they do. I’d also point you in the direction of the McMillan charity if you require that wee not of extra strength and assistance.
New season book eh? I blame the chemo.
Take care.
Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

I posted on here earlier in the month my letter to PL expressing my reservations about renewing my ST.
Since then I have delighted at appointment of a mature, seasoned and ‘gets Celtic’ manager and experienced first hand in my time with Auldheid the huge strides made on Resolution 12 as it approaches its denouement.
Make no mistake, those involved have expended the communications budget of a small country never mind the medical bills to keep their sanity over the piece ! They deserve your appreciation and support
If Res 12 opens a window onto the complicity, maladministration and corrupt practices of the SFA then mission accomplished .
Whilst I was reflecting on my position, Hampden happened, follow followed by the inane, egregious, inflammatory and delusional outpourings from chez Sevco. The final straw !
I could not resist the opportunity to see and experience their downfall and humiliation first hand, so ! renewed my ST on basis that progress is being made on key issues plus I could not in good conscience not give my support to the club in the face of such blatant, blinkered and biased sense of entitlement.
If you are swithering, as I was, then go for it ! You are helping hammer the nails into their coffin.

That is a belter of a picture and would love to know a few of the names, no Coatbridge Shamrock football team these days, the nearest have been the Columba Club who have worn the green & white with a wee shamrock badge, a few years back we had the green & black stripes with the shamrock badge before Celtic re-released the green & black stripes our strip was better…..
BT – hope you have a £1 on both to score with Engurlund

Agreed re rogics fitness but he has had a few years warming the injury bench. Paddy never had fitness and smoked and drank heavily!
Rogic will benefit from a few weeks off and a good preseason to build his core fitness.
Read a comment that some of the senior players were upset at the fitness regimes in relation to injury recovery at Celtic under RD, so much so that Mulgrew paid for an external appraisal to get fit again.
Noted the appointment that Celtic made today (cant remember his name, sorry) sure i read one of his jobs is to get players fit and strong after injury. The guy has an impressive CV and hopefully the run of injuries we have will slow down a bit!
Would it be 34,000 tickets sold to date over the counter, and still to deal with postal applications ?
EDB
YNWA buddy HH
I took a call and renewed my overseas season ticket. Ticket office working 12 hours + and season books flying out the door the girl told me…she sounded exhausted..

There was many rumours around the Norwegian back room team, at loggerheads with info and direction, as opposed to the existing team Lennon had left behind, with many players avoiding the Norwegians :-)
Rumour had it

A belter of a song there! Already being shared to a wider audience….

Rogic appear the sort that will never be 100% fit which is a shame as he has so much talent, hope i’m wrong.
I’d take the Mulgrew rumours with pinch of salt, nothing about that one rings true. If Charlie signs a new contract I’ll be surprised if he’s not injured once again.
Thanks again my friends. You are a very special group each and every one of you. Your support means so very much.

That’s the Celtic, including the MIghty Quinn, in the photo mate.

Possible the Mugrew rumours grew arms and legs, however, there were too many players constantly injured over a long period of time.
No smoke without fire and all that!
That period is now behind us though and the true acid test will be the injury count this time next year
EmbraMike,
I read your letter, it was superb.
The Sevco shenanigans didn’t influence, they cheated then, now and forever.
Res.12 did have an influence, still waiting to hear on that, but I trust those involved, and believe they are putting in every effort. The signing of Brendan is exciting, it was inspired. It showed an intent from the club.
But it really was personal, time away, time at home with the kids(ballet dancers, not footballers).
I was driving up the M74, getting closer to CP, and thought, ‘feck, I’m not going next season”, and it choked me.
Scottish cup too.
Ediegobhoy.Hope all goes well for you my fellow Tim.Keep the Faith.

Thanks,I had no idea
Sorry about that Gerry

Very true, we’ll see this season.
Maybe Lustig and Forrest will decide this coming season they aren’t fit enough compared to the previous torturous regime :O)

In response to an earlier question ,I don’t see this England team
