‘STUFF THE 700 TICKETS,’ HARTSON FIRES IBROX BROADSIDE

JOHN HARTSON has sent a message to the Ibrox hierachy: Stuff your tickets!

Celtic have been informed their allocation for the Premiership confrontation in Govan a week on Sunday will be only 700.

Hartson is clearly unhappy with the amount of briefs offered to his old club for the match which will see visiting fans allowed in the ground for the first time since September 2019 when Neil Lennon’s side won 2-0 with goals from Odsonne Edouard and Johnny Hayes.

The former Hoops goal hero insists it should be a return to the full allocation of the Broomloan stand.

Hartson tweeted: “I would say stuff the 700 tickets. It should be 10,000 fans-plus or nothing.

“If you’re one of the 700 I would think of the other Celtic fans who are missing out. We all know who started this lack of away fans nonsense.”

The Ibrox club initially cut the away fans’ allocation following the arrival of Steven Gerrard in the summer of 2018.

They stated it was down to a record demand for season tickets following the appointment of the one-time England and Liverpool midfielder.

The Hoops bosses responded by handing their Glasgow rivals a similar amount of tickets. However, there have been no fans at the two previous derbies in this campaign, which is also partly attributed to by Covid restrictions.

Ange Postecoglou saw his rookie line-up lose 1-0 away in August, but they romped to a 3-0 triumph in the east end of Glasgow in February with Reo Hatate (2) and Liel Abada claiming the first-half strikes.

The clubs are also scheduled to lock horns at Hampden with an equal split of tickets in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday April 17.
