A big well done to everyone who participated in the efforts to send Vanessa Riddle to Philadelphia for crucial medical treatment. The £500k required was raised yesterday.
Brogan Rogan’ brought the issue to the blog and Taggsybhoy arranged the CQN Music Quiz earlier this month, our first formal activity for Vanessa. Penfold gave us a signed Celtic top at the quiz which raised an incredible £5000 on eBay (plus gift aid) from a Celtic fan who, quite simply, gets what following this club is all about.
Not only did he pay £5000 but he told us to keep the shirt and use it again! We then raffled the shirt on eBay and raised almost £1400. You are all part of an incredible story by an incredible support.
The draw for the signed shirt took place at Uefa headquarters in Nyon, you can watch the video of below and find out if you won.
Our thanks again to Andrew in Belfast for his tireless help with the site this week. The new ‘whyte’ template is in place and we’ll continue to restore functionality.

Stunning achievement by all
Tremendous effort.
FFM,
oi, beat it whytey this is my patch, :o)
I think that might the best ever draw organized by Uefa.
It certainly is light years better than the SFA “doped” draws of recent years.
Huge well done to all.
Falkirkbhoy, how you doing?

Hello all at CQN. My name is R. Angerz and I am appealing to you on behalf of a stricken group of friends who have been afflicted by a mysterious disease known as Whyte Knight’s disease. Seeing how quickly you raised half a million I was wondering if you could launch a new appeal and see about raising £79m or so to stave off this disease and associated diseases such as HMRC and Hector’s Expectancy which can cause the onset of Whyte Knight’s disease. All cheques/credit cards/donations would be grateful and we will be sure to follow follow (oops!) this site and your great club in the future especially in some joyful singing from our warm cozy home!

The dedication involved in the Vanessa Appeal is an inspiration, when people get together nothing is impossible.
What an effort by everyone who donated – great (and incessant!) work by BRTH, great work by taggys to orgainise the Quiz and raffle and tremendous individual generosity by the intial winner of the signed top.
The best thing of all though? Vanessa has reached her target and now has a fighting chance!
Hail Hail

Hi Savo01.
I’m a stupid hun, and have a fortune in savings that I would like to see chucked at my favourite British institution which I have also recently discovered, is woven into the fabric of Scottish society.
Can you please tell me how to donate, and how quickly I can do so?
Yours in Masonic Faith,
(All Square???)
FFM.
The Vanessa achievement is humbling. Truly phenomenal effort.
Hehehe…..quiet pint indeed.
celticrumours Celtic Underground
Iain Durrant has apparently left the building.
£50m takeover nonsense reminds me of the line in Independence Day where The Fly’s old boy asks El Presidente if he really thinks a hammer costs $20,000.
‘Do you really think an orc and debt infested bigotdome costs £50m?’ asks Goldblum’s da
‘Erm, naw, prolly aboot a quid’ responds the (Big?) White Hoose Gaffer

Did you just say “quiet” pint?? Not there. No way !!! I was givin Penny Blacks to wear for the tables :D))
FFM,
I think we must stand aside, it appears we have a truely desperate characher in Mr Angerz, and obviously the the good of the many outweighs the good of the few.
Good dhay everybody. Good to have the site back. A big well done to all Tims everywhere regarding the Vanessa appeal, but please bear in mind that there are always expenses that are unseen or have not been anticipated. So please keep giving to the Vanessa appeal. She has reached the final, we need to make sure she goes on to win the “trophy”!
Hail! Hail! PMTYH

a big well done to everyone involved, makes you proud to be part of the greatest support in world football.
hail hail.
An astonishing effort to raise so much in so short a time.
I thought it a big ask but it just shows what can be done when true charity is the driver (helped by enthusiastic navjgators).

Fantastic news and makes you proud to be a Celtic Supporter. The family must be stunned at the response £500,000 one of the finest moments in the Celtic Supports history I would say.
Oh! Ian Durrant may have left the building…
canamalar @ 11:44
Eh? You give consideration to the good, the few, and the desperate??? You discriminate against the Ugly???
There is only one Agent Whyte.
I’m Agent Whyte.
What players do the huns have on International duty this week?
The Pantaloon Duck
Pawel Brozek is out of Poland squad. He and coach agreed that he needed time to settle on with Celtic first.
RogueLeader – Whyte’s in Monaco completing his fenian duty.

Thank you kind sir I wash there was more like you who is indeed stupid and asks no questions! Send a cheque made payable to the Culpable Arrogant Stuck up Heroes. If that doesn’t fit on the cheque just abbreviate it and pop it in the post 1st class (for it is what we are!) down Kinning Park way! A word of caution if a charity called Wavetower or MIH come calling do not be duped by these con men! We weren’t! Oh wait!

Thanks! That sounds sensible. I hope he gets some proper game time soon – my hunch is that he’s going to be a good ‘un and I’m waiting for him to get a chance to prove me right :-)
