What grates with me is that the issue on how to end the Scottish league season is portrayed as an ethical question. If so, ethics are remarkably subjective.
How would I feel if Newco had not imploded (more on that if/when the time comes) so magnificently in the weeks? Pretty upset that they because of the slimmest of leads, they were able to ‘Stop the Nine’ without Celtic having a chance to turn things around. A cherished piece of our narrative over these last nine years would have vanished into thin air.
Conversely, what would Douglas Park have to say on the matter, if Steve Gerrard was able to cope with the likes of Hamilton Accies at home, would he be campaigning for the season to become null and void? Don’t be ridiculous. They would rename one side of the ground the 2020 Stand.
Anyone who claims they would not advocate the exact opposite view, if their team was due to win/lose a league instead of lose/win is a liar or a self-deceiving fool. This is not an ethical question and anyone who suggests it is, is being unethical. It is a pragmatic question:
Will this make you a winner or a loser?
Does this make sense for Scottish football as a whole?
The winners and those without any skin in the game voted Yes. Only losers voted No. If Celtic were behind Newco I would want the league null and void to allow us to win nine-in-a-row next season, for purely selfish reasons, not because a moral authority understood it to be right.
Talking about ethics, respect to Roma players, who have agreed to take no pay for four months, while making up shortfalls in non-player wages from their own pockets. Off the scale ethical standards. More on this, and Celtic player and executive pay cuts, later. Many clubs will fall during the crisis, Roma won’t be one of them.

Think the 16,000 plus fatalities would argue – if they could.
Sorry TET but when you advocate unrestricted infection across the population you advocate a higher death rate, the numbers obviously don’t really matter when that is the chosen/preferred strategy. So following that up with “one person dying unnecessarily is one too many” rings a bit hollow.
Unless the deaths of the weak are considered necessary.
CELTIC MAC
Just spoke to him.

Germany’s mortality rate is 0.37%, Germany has more hospital beds, the highest proportional testing ratio and prepared properly for the virus.
So it follows their mortality rate will be lower, the Chinese told the world in early Feb, if you treat people early in the infection you can prevent it becoming critical, the Germans paid attention to that.
I’m no film buff but i love the following in no particular order:
Grease
Little miss sunshine
Pulp fiction
Wuthering heights
American werewolf in London
Wayne’s world
Life of Brian
Dirty dancing

German efficiency and organisation will have greatly influenced human interaction, distancing and behaviours, which will have greatly reduced the transmission of the virus. Countries, like organisations and people, who have their stuff together are best placed to deal with the virus.
GLASGOWBHOY-my favourite film ever ever is The Wizard of Oz.
How flippin cool is that😉

Spurs still paying Pochettino’s £8.5 million a year salary, 6 months after they sacked him, hopefully football gets a grip when this is all over.

Not sure what that assumption is based on. A club a stones throw from Kings Cross in north central London is going to get the ok to play games without or without a crowd? Not any time soon.
Chaotic as the SPFLs seem to be, the fact is in England, every club is looking at things from its’ own perspective, wouldn’t surprise me to see the likes of Leeds and West Brom not getting promoted to the EPL.
I want to start again 😉
Quadrophenia. There, I’m cool again!
Watched the recently made film Contagion the other day

If we are not goi g to have full stadiums until at least december, I would be happy to purchase ppv season ticket at full price and I will continue to shop at the superstore when it reopens. Subject to finances remaining ok.
I would suggest celtic fc push this if needs be and hopefully most of us are up for it get and it keeps finances up at this time. Less people at games also means less expenditure as well.
While I get it’s about surviving there is also a part of me that thinks if celtic are only gonna get 10000 to 15000 people into the stadium so perhaps it is the correct time to get the main stand redeveloped to make it larger and better.
Couple of reasons:
Borrowing has never been lower so celtic could easily get loan on fabulous terms to pay over a reasonable timeframe.
Redevelopment could be carried out when restrictions are in place and so does not add to it.
After such a long shutdown demand is likely going to be very high and the added seating will get used.
Construction cost will likely be less than normal because of lack of investment at this time.
It would create jobs for local people and the local and wider community.

Germans set to return to football in less than 3 weeks. Meanwhile the UK cannot get PPE for the NHS and have thousand of unchecked travellers coming through UK airports daily. Shameful and embarrassing. Years of austerity, racism, ethnic cleansing and isolationism coming home to roost.
Top 10 changes by the minute, but nothing beats The Quiet Man
The Magnificent Seven
Once Upon A Time in West
True Grit ( Remake)

Sorry you felt that way- I know my wishes for your health were genuine. I did not suggest you had a health problem- it was you who posted that people were advising you to drink less. I merely said that I hope you overcome whatever is troubling you, no matter what it is.

There are always minority views in any profession. The background of the 2 authoriteis you cite, as a Psychiatrist and an Osteopath, means they may be informed on certain medical areas but imunology and virology did not take up a large part of their respective training.
That does not mean they are wrong, by virue of their background, but it does show that they are not putting their workings out to a jury of peers. They are being picked up and championed by fring internet sites and the ant-vaccine movement, based on the discredited work of Dr. Andrew Wakefield and the backing given to it by some reputable journalists at Private Eye. Wakefield still believes in his position so might he still be right.
One of the telling points against him is that he will not read,a cknowledge or debate the science that proved him wrong. He prefers to paint himself as a censored, rather than as a disproven, pundit and every legal action he has started against his accusers has been withdrawn. Children died and were damaged by the spread of the anti-vaccine movement. I fear the same will happen here with the “sorry-too-late” mob who are out answering Trump’s dogwhistles.
I have nothing against alternative medicine per se. I have seen people’s beliefs get them through some very difficult situations and procedures. It is when they proselytise about methods that have not been tested, not been replicated and not been adequately controlled to rule out other alternative causal factors, that they become dangerous.
Snake Oil Salesman have a long history but we are no more advanced in our knowledge of which of their products or ingredients work. That is because they won’t do the hard miles and hey won’t subject their ego to the sceptical critique of their peers, which is the only way Science advances.
So am I painting fencing or going back to work 🤔
KingLubo…u offered up 14 for top top 10…I blame the lockdown ;-))
