  1. Nye Bevans' rebel soldier on

In the last one and half games we have dominated sides we are

clearly better than and yet have managed to concede goals.

    Get it sorted NOW.

Ps… we don’t score enough goals.

  2. Dominant display in first half, and we should be out of sight by now.

Suduva are a big, physical team, but not much else. But for a horrendous defensive mistake (again), we’d be in total control. Ntcham top man for me, so far, but Johnston running him close..

All that’s missing is converting our chances ( and a defence that doesn’t contribe to let our opponents back into the game.

We should run out comfortable winners, but no guarantees with our team at the moment.

  3. HT 1-1 We lack a cutting edge to reflect our complete domination.

ON and Broony bossing the game.

  4. Lots of possession, creating plenty of chances (unfortunately none have fallen to Moussa), and they haven’t threatened, except than the free kick and the embarrassing attempt by the defence to keep them out. Should be at least 2 or 3 up.

  5. good half from Celtic – keep there ball well and had them chasing shadows. We will beat this team over two legs for sure.

Losing the stupid goal is our trademark – I don’t mind, increases the pressure to sign a center who will own the box.

    Mickey J – WOW!!

  6. Game thus far is a re run of the AEK game. Celtic by far the better team but finding it difficult to fashion clear cut chances despite almost totally dominating possession. FC Suduva – a nothing FK into our box and they score – their one and only effort. Our defense is an utter shambles.

  7. I think we are better with 2 up front. Griff gives us a threat in the box as well as world class delivery into the box . we need both today – get him in the mix

  8. DubaiBhoy (nee LondonBhoy) on

Moussa is looking frustrated up front. Keeps making little runs in the box and nobody can make a killer pass.

  9. This time the error came from right back Gamboa to concede goal against run of play.

But seriously we should be out of sight given our possession , domination and obvious higher standard.

    Moussa is strangely MIA.

Let’s bring Leigh on and have them work together up front.

  10. Watching their goal again, Gamboa sleeping. That’s why he’ll never be our RB. He’s a wing back, and not a good defender.

  11. I hate saying it, but it is painful to watch Celtic these days. Square ball, backwards pass, come forward, back pass, square ball, missed pass and repeat ad naseum. Seriously, where is the passion ? The will to speed up movement ? We have possesion. What does that mean ? We had possesion against AEK. There goal was disgraceful non play by our defence and keeper.

  12. halftime reading. the last line is a bumper

Riot police would have been deployed to combat Orange Order march

    By Eddie Harbinson

    Local Democracy Reporter

Riot police would have been deployed to combat a major counter-protest if an Orange march went past St Alphonsus’ Church this weekend.

Superintendent John McBride made the claim as he revealed that five times as many specialist officers than normal would have been drawn from all over Scotland to police the parade.

It came as online groups threatened to defend the church, in Calton, following ugly scenes on July 7 when Canon Tom White was allegedly attacked during the annual Boyne march.

Glasgow City Council’s public processions committee has banned the Orange Order from walking past the church this Saturday.

And Superintendent McBride said: “I welcome the decision by the public processions committee and I’m glad they took into account my views.”

Earlier he told members of the committee that intelligence had led him to believe there was the potential for nasty scenes if the Orange Order were to walk down Stevenson Street on Saturday.

He said: “Police Scotland are not asking that this particular route is never used again.

“The intelligence does indicate that there is a request from a group who has called for ‘any other like-minded individuals’ to attend. It invites certain elements of society who potentially see this as an opportunity to cause disorder.

“If this parade was allowed to go ahead it would be specially trained public processions officers. In your mind’s eye think of riot police without the helmets. They would ensure that any unsavoury element of protest or counter-protest would lead to disorder. It would be at least five times the usual number of officers.”

Ronnie Convery, representing the Archdiocese of Glasgow said: “On Saturday St Alphonsus’ will be open for prayer and religious services just as it was a month ago when clergy suffered shameful violence and intimidation. People are afraid.

“The police report highlighted tensions in the area and on social media. These tensions have ramped up in the last 24 hours. The potential for public disorder is extremely high.

“We want to live in peace. Our people must feel secure. The city of Glasgow has 1000 streets on which a march could take place. Only 50 have a Catholic church.

“While we all respect the rights of people to march and demonstrate those rights cannot be seen in isolation. They cannot be exercised come hell or high water.”

James G MacLean, representing the Orange Order, hit out at the events of July 7 but questioned the need to ban the parade going past the church this weekend.

He added: “We have a number of concerns with the suggestion that the parade be re-routed because it happens to be on the route of a particular roman catholic church. We’ve already made it clear that we deplore the obscenity that took place previously.

“St Alphonsus’ Church has never been attacked by an Orange march and I don’t think there is any danger of that happening. It is an entirely peaceful Christian organisation which condemns thuggery and does not in any way support violence or any attack on clergy or people of different faiths.”

Committee members unanimously agreed to stop the march going past the church this weekend but insisted that this isn’t a blanket ban.

Ken Andrew, who chaired the committee, said: “This should be in no way read that the orange order is responsible for the incident involving Canon White.”

Losing the stupid goal is our trademark – I don’t mind, increases the pressure to sign a center who will own the box.

    —————

I have my doubts it’s the payers and more how they are coached, and of course they have zero confidence at the moment.

Sign someone new and they’ll probably end up playing like the rest of them.

  14. Contribe = Contrive.

Edit facility needed here almost as much as we need a commanding Centre Half ?

  15. McGregor not exactly firing on all cylinders.

I can see why Johnstone selected although they are doubling up on him now.

We should still go through but not an encouraging display for games ahead.

In fact we are a poor shadow of the side that pressed the opposition into mistakes. Just as well they don’t need pressing to make them but two passes one from Simunovic the other Ajer might as well have been gift wrapped.

If we don’t stick the ball away and give away bad goals then we are going to be in trouble against lesser teams with a decent goalie and decent defense, never mind good ones.

  16. Justseen the goal for the 1st time. Was Gordon notbat fault there.Lookef to me he should have taken the lot there.Gamboa also. What we were saying today about his height.Think we are doing great.Keeper keeping them in it a bit.Couple of good saves.

  17. the glorious balance sheet on

Whatever my misgivings about the board, to play one man up front against this team is an absolute joke.

  18. ffs don’t lets get carried away, as Chavez said this is a — team fill in the blanks, id probably equate this team to Stranraer etc, but they can still score against us. please celtic get some defenders in who can defend.hh.

  19. Gordon poor at goal as well. He sees their player run away from Gamboa and could have come out and punched before he gets his head on it.

5 goals lost in Europe, everyone from poor basic defending.

  20. Gobsmacking first half from Celtic scoring quickly before the other side knew how poorly we can defend at times.

A bit like AEK at Celtic Park hopefully with a very different second half, because this is the quivalent of Hamilton away, but on a decent pitch.

Was BR point scoring selecting Johnston?

Anyway, he is an improvement on what we’ve been watching , and expect us to win.

  21. we are going to have to go some to win this Sudoko 8 tae wan…

smiley relax, wee Mikey is looking braw …thing

    Braw

  22. Apart from defending poorly, we have done most else right.

We lack a freshness that new signings bring to the team.

Rogers has played Johnston to try and bring that freshness but as the game has worn on he has been defended well.

We need investment and time, I have no doubt we will win the league and after 6 weeks we will be up and running.

At the moment we just need to hold on to the horse while it tries to fling us off it.

We need the mentality to drag us thru games like this, as this game will be forgotten in 6 weeks.

  23. they are a very poor side, started well but to lose goal the way we did is shambolic defending , firstly KT makes a clumsy unnecessary tackle when we had 4 players around their player to give away a needless free kick , a high floated ball into our box and our shambolic defending loses a goal ,not 1 of our players attempted to head the ball clear and CG should rooted on the Goaline he stood statue like when he should have came for the ball to collect and all he done was collect the ball from the net.

our passing from SB and from the usual suspects Jozo & Ayer has been poor .
