Suker, Uefa and regionalisation

935

Croatian hero of the 1990s, Davor Suker, currently Croatian Football Federation president, is campaigning for a place on the Uefa Executive Committee, one of 12 people chasing 7 places.

Sukor has been campaigning across south-eastern Europe, with a simple message: collapse the cream from the national leagues of 13 countries into one powerful 42-team regional league structure.  He has support across the region, including Turkey and the former Yugoslav countries.

Smaller countries across Europe have realised that they must regionalise or accept a future of irrelevance.  The Gazprom-funded deal between the Ukrainian and Russian regional league floundered at the onset or war but regionalisation is not going away.  We need innovative campaigners like Suker to rise to positions of authority, replace the ranks of the incompetent and talentless.

Well done to newco for rewarding those who used their media outlets to campaign relentlessly on their behalf in recent years with a seat in the directors’ box on Tuesday.  I’m sure David Leggat deserved the accolade of being the only mainstream media journo so honoured, which is quite something.  New season lamb is in stock early this year.

Looks like the backup plan of having to beat Motherwell in the playoffs isn’t gonna happen as Hibs should stuff Sevco before that.

16 team league seems like the next logical proposal for the good of Scottish football.

Once again. It wont be next season.

It could happen the following, but I dont give a Monkeys(oops)about that.

One of my regrets surrounding the collapse of the huns is that it was Alex Thomson rather than Michael Crick who decided to get involved.

“Where is Scotland’s cheating hotspot? UK’s most adulterous towns revealed in official Infidelity Index 2015

The official Infidelity Index 2015 was released this week

LIVINGSTON residents might want to click away quickly because their town has been named as the most likely place in Scotland where a husband or wife is having an affair.

It may prompt an altogether new West Lothian question in many households but according to the official Infidelity Index 2015 the new town is Britain’s second most adulterous.

Livingston has a population of 56,500 but according to the infidelity table 1152 of those are having an affair – two per cent of locals.

It comes second in the table to the small Nottinghamshire town of Beeston with Maidenhead coming in third place. Other Scottish towns in the top 1000 include Hamilton (20), Cumbernauld (35), East Kilbride (64) and Paisley in 87th.”

Jobo is obviously too busy with his weather prognostications to assist in moving EK further up the charts.

They are obviously Beasting away in Nottinghamshire.

  11. I read Chris Graham’s tweets on a daily basis. I wanted to know how a Huns mind worked. A more arrogant person you could not wish to meet. I feel he thinks he’s right at all times and he doesn’t care who he offends. A lot of Rangers fans have no time for him either. Let’s face it he worshipped David Leggat. I think the board will stand by him just now but more and more of his offensive tweets will come to light and he will eventually get his jotters.

I worked up in Perth in the early 80s,doing work in the PRI,and it took some beating. The locals told us then it was known as “Sin City”.There were 8 of us working there and no one ever wanted to go home for the weekend.

Dont know if its still the same.

If football goes down the road Suker advocates it

will hasten it’s demise IMO, the teams left behind

in national leagues will be even more vunerable

and those clubs who do get an invite will be at the

mercy of the Billionaires and Oligarks(how do you

spell that?) of this world. Our sport would be in

danger of following the likes of American Football

down the road to franchises that are bought and

sold/moved at the whim of the rich.

Not in my name I’m afraid.

Down with that sort of thing ;)

    …..

So, we’ve just to stick with the status quo ?

If it takes some other billionaire or oligarch to make us more competitive and give a better competition to compete in, then so be it ..

The current billionaires like Murdoch are never going to give a toss about the smaller leagues .

The billionaire shareholders at our club are bereft of any idea’s .. They’d rather sit twiddling their thumbs waiting for an invite to join Murdoch’s party.

It would be good for Scottish Football if we left. Be far more competitive.

Went to Kusadasi way before the concrete apartment blocks went up, pals got a holiday home there he rents full-time to a turk/kurd he’s not sure but the cash keeps getting put in his account.

They dont like it up there, and they have another home in Sitiler which is the best part of Marmaris by a long shot.

My home is in a small place called Akyaka 40 mins drive from Marmaris (very small amounts of tourists and no-brits mostly Deuchslanders)

I’ve been knocking around TR since 1992 when i purchased my 1st home.

It’s ruined now in my opinion and very over priced. Thats why i bought a home in BG -)))

  23. After seeing that photo of Leggat, Dingwall and the sons of struth guy not to mention the guy who sent letter bombs to Neil Lennon I think the new regime are getting back to their roots in terms of fans. It’s just my opinion. I think the board genuinely believe CG is buffer between themselves and the fans. Personally I think he’s a muppet.I can see CG making some sort of apology and wriggling his way out of it but as I said before his past will come back to haunt him. That tweet was sent for the sole reason TO offend.
