Canada face Venezuela overnight in a game which if the South Americans lose, will see the final Celtic player break for the summer. Even if Canada are eliminated in the small hours of Saturday morning, Alistair Johnston will have a short break before picking up for the new term. Venezuela topped their group with maximum points, so will start favourites.
Celtic’s first competitive game is four weeks away, while the squad head to the USA in less than a fortnight. Brendan Rodgers could be tempted to start the season with Anthony Ralston at right back to extend Johnston’s break.
Alistair has played every minute of Canada’s campaign, whereas Cameron Carter-Vickers Copa America experience with the USA was limited to one substitute appearance. Neither will be properly rested for the new campaign, no matter how much extended leave Brendan allows.

Happy Birthday to James Forrest- 33 today

What’s the context? Is that signings, date and sum paid?
Pretty shocking if so
Difficult to conclude that particular transfer window was anything other than terrible.
We won the double last year, though our close seasons signings were sub optimal
Chuck Heston as Moses in The Ten Commandments laying it on thick in the Royal Court of the Pharaoh about subjecting people to slavery and suffering, condemning them to life without hope … just because they are of another religion.
Cut and paste.
and then he shoots them, nra and all that

aye a reminder of when and how much.
Hail Hail
Good afternoon all from the Victoria Bar. Rather wet in old Glasgow Town. Oh well, I’ll need to stay a bit longer.
That signings list, not as terrible as people say.
Lagerbielke.BR,for some reason does not fancy him.Defender of the year in Sweden.Other people rate him.No loss. Will get our money back.
Holm. BR has said himself,a terrific player there.Being coached along.
Palma.Fantastic return from him in goals assists.Lot more to come.
Khun.First pre season for him.Done well when he settled in.More to come.
Bernardo.Done very well when used.Much more to come.
Idah fantastic second half of the season.
Philips.Emergency help only.
Yang. Not for us,but well regarded in Korea.Should recoup.Same with Kwon.
Tilio.A real project who for many reasons we never saw.
Oh.We will make a decent profit.
Its not the disaster many say.Could have been much better, but if you want real, ready made, quality,it costs big bucks.Projected quality,is what we got.Cheaper.
Another lovely day in Tuscany.
Not an orange parade in sight.
Still celebrating Thursdays events …… so good to be rid of that vile selfish and entitled mob running the UK.
Not too frustrated Re lack of signings. Sadly it’s where we are in the food chain as a destination for decent level talent and the agents of these types of players.
The more they see like Frimpong Virgil and the
Like move on and up and the less they see Bassey and GG and others regress the better it might be for external perception of football in Scotland.
Hopefully Barnardo can see the potential. Jota and his badly advised next move should not limit this.
Hoopy birthday Jamiesie
Superbru update
After last night’s final quarter-final match we can update where we are in the competition
The best performers in this round of q-final predictions were:-
1= RP McMurphy & Nawlite- 9 pts
3 roy croppie- 7.5 pts
5= SFTB, Bada Bing, Bognorbhoy, The Token Tim, One Malloy & Chalmerbhoy- 6 pts
This leaves the overall leaderboard as:-
1= 18 Yard Man & RP McMurphy- 45 pts
3 One Malloy- 44 pts
4= SFTB, Drew67, Jobo Baldie & Borgo67- 42.5 pts
8 hairlikespaghetti- 42 pts
9= ACGR & Call me Gerry- 41 pts
It’s so tight that people outside the top 10 can still win this if they get exact scores on 2 of the final 3 matches (no 3rd/4th place play off this time)
Fighting it out for the wooden spoon only we have :-
snapper 1969 on 25.5 pts
Texas Tim on 29.5 pts
and Greenpinata & BC Milan- 31 pts
Funding & Prize money
We asked for £20 as entrance money, if you could afford it, for this competition. So far we have received £780 from our 46 entrants (plus BMCUWP & others who joined Superbru but never quite gravitated towards our specific pool). So I am making a final plea, if anyone has still to make payment if they could get it in this week and I will adjust prize money and donations in accord with this final sum.
Now to pay an entry fee- these are the methods:-
Superbru payments:-
By cash in person to CRC if you see him
By bank transfer to
Account name: Walk With Shay
Account number: 15326765
Sort code: 80-22-60
Bank: Bank of Scotland
Ref: Enter your name or blog moniker (so we can identify you and check off that you’ve paid!)
By paypal to walkwithshay@yahoo.com (please send as gift, so prize money pot is not diminished by paypal charges).
Meanwhile we will proceed with an estimated total of £800 which means £400 split between Sentinel Celt’s Blood Cancer charity and the 12th Lion scheme in John Fallon’s name. We will make the payments when all donations are in.
This should leave the Prize pot as £400 split, as follows
1st- £200
2nd- £120
3rd- £80
I will adjust if more donation money comes in.
Our next deadline for predictions is 8 pm on Tuesday night for the first semi-final. Thank you again for your support.

Tough times!
Wee prayers said for your good lady and you.
Best wishes.
SFTB – wait! There’s no prize money for the wooden spoon? I’ll need to start trying now 😉
Btw – I was top ten after two rounds – where did it all go wrong.
Conclusive proof that I never bet on anything, I suppose 🤷🏻♂️

Wife is in long term care just had third bouti ofcovid I thought I had it but it is pneumonia thought I was hit by a truck on antibiotics for a week. With all her problems you would not know she was sick but me boom.
*I hate when someone says “I know how you feel” but honestly I really do, on Hogmanay 2019, Mrs TT was preparing the family new years dinner, she hudnae been feeling well all week, she does have an autoimmune condition, but that afternoon it was really bad so around 5 o’clock I took her over to the emergency, she was in there for 6 days, right away they put her on fentanyl, than morphine working her way down the painkillers, they couldnae find anything but as they had given her an ecg and the cardiologist was on holiday had tae keep her in until he saw it on his return, first thing on the Monday morning I got a phone call she was getting out, I still have a copy of her records and no mention of what she had, now she knows she had Covid but as you know it was NOT actually accepted to being in the country until March of that year, so no admittance of it, oh and she caught a mild form of it later on but was well prepared this time.
There is also another coronavirus going around now that affects mainly youngsters and geriatrics, like us, its not as severe as Covid but highly contagious, guess who picked that up, aye both of us from one of our daughters, I eventually went tae see mine and he put me on a Corticosteroid nasal spray, oh it works but leaves me drowsy, so I tend to nap more that normal, as the actress Katherine Hepburn once said “old age is NOT for the faint hearted”.

Buffalo Bills New Stadium costs
$1.7 billion
The stadium is estimated to cost $1.7 billion. Under an agreement with the state of New York, taxpayers will pay $850 million of the construction cost (with $600 million coming from New York State and $250 million coming from Erie County).

Watching Uru. V Brazil this competion a lot better than the Euro better say goodnight this phone work is exhausting
*fully concur her as apart from the likes of Austria/Turkey and Spain/Germany I’ve fund the rest pretty grim but I’m putting that down to talented but jaded players such as De Bruyne who IMHO is the best midfielder on show but just NOT up to it although it does have to be remembered he was out for a spell during the season.
The likes of CR7 and Pepe has a talented Portugal playing as if they are a couple of men short, France with Greizmann, Mbappé and Dembele pretty much the same, and of course england are just overrated, hoping for a Spain/Netherlands final.
As for the Copa América, I’ve really enjoyed that although again Lionel Messi also looks a bit disjointed, but some of the games such as Canada/Venezuela led me to realise why I don’t like South American fitba, well except Brazil but then again they featured in the Battle of Berne, no I didnae see it as I was still in Primary 2 at the time, s it to this day is still seen as the most violent WC game ever, 42 free kicks and 2 penalties were awarded, with 4 cautions and 3 dismissals issued, plus the fighting still continued up the tunnel and into the Hungarian dressing room after the final whistle with the Magyar manger receiving 4 stitches for a facial wound. So, what did FIFA do, the usual sfa, and left the disciplinarian to the respective countries where both received honours.
Anyway, as I said I have no time for the Latinos plus Portugal and Italy, highly talented but very cynical.

John Morrison was born in Lewis, Scotland in 1780, his second son William was born just 6 weeks after the family arrived in the US.
.
William married Irish girl Sarah Slemmons, and their youngest son Stephen was born in 1826.
.
Stephen was Jim Morrison’s great-great- grandfather
